  • INCIDENT REPORT:
The team was called out on Friday evening to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service, who were responding to a gentleman suffering a serious medical episode at a remote farm.
Due to winter conditions, road access to the farm was hampered by snow and ice. After rendezvousing at the team’s base at Buxton Fire Station, all four of the team’s response vehicles, along with fifteen team members made their way to towards the farm.
In view of the seriouness of the incident and the difficulties of the challenging road conditions, the team requested air support from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, and Rescue 912 was tasked from Humberside.
After being treated by Paramedics, the gentleman was placed on to a mountain rescue stretcher and carried to a point where he could be safely placed into the Coastguard Helicopter and then flown to hospital.
The team then returned to the fire station for a debrief and to clean equipment ready for the next call out.
