Craig, I think I found it (1st trick). It's a variation of Make the Cards Match by Martin Gardner and Howard A. Adams in New Self-Working Card Tricks, page 130. It used a spelling method instead of coins but the premise appears to be the same, where spectator makes choices from either pile, eliminate cards, more choices, till the end and it still matches. There were numerous Karl Fulves variations on this as well, but the original appearsAdam's. Adams and Gardner (known for maths based tricks).
Ive figured out the method here (in part not fully). Ingenious. I have seen a similar trick with more coins however the premise was different as I believe the amount of coins matched the cards from memory, was a long time ago I saw it and I don't believe it was self working but from the looks of this it is a great effect and I fully agree with you that self working tricks are in no way bad at all. Magic is about performance and illusion. The idea of something being impossible when it is actually an ingenious method whether that be gimmick or self working. In fact I am drawn to many self working tricks because there is something truly magical about something working without doing anything. Even when explained the idea of some self working tricks is baffling even when you know the method. This is also magical if you ask me and I think people that snub self working tricks are snobby and often have lost the idea of what magic is all about. The seemingly impossible being very possible through ingenious methods.
Stolen Cards by Leonard Green is one of my absolute favourites. Starting off by asking a group if anyone has ever cheated, and then asking if anyone has ever stolen anything gets some amazing revelations. The three reveals of the trick itself build and build, and it’s such good fun to perform
I love the first routine! I still remembered details from a Bruce Bernstein version, so I was able to get reacquainted with it. The coins add a great touch. I already do a version of Gemini Twins, with my own kicker. I first saw a version with blanks that was sold by Earl Ray Wilcox.
I love self working tricks, from an audience perspective it doesn't matter anything if the method is self working, semi automatic or done with sleight of hand. It's all about the effect and how it makes them feel. If they experience a magic moment it's magic, the methode used to create the magic is irrelevant.
I constantly surprise myself with tricks that use the principle contained in the Perfect Coin Mates. There are so many good ones and the effect is always so strong. However I also love the added touches that you give to these, such as the use of coins, or business cards for the Gemini Twins - really adds a lot to the presentation. Keep up the great work, Craig!
Love all three of them. I have been doing later two for a long time and always get good reactions. With the blank deck Kaymar magic has been selling that as "The Kick".
I dont understand 😕 I always did the 3 cards to the bottom then one on each etc... but if I do the random numbers..the aces never come up..like where do I place the aces cause if I leave em on the top it doesn't work!!!!
Perfect coin mates is absolutely amazing, I had no idea how it was done.i played around with my cards and found out how it worked by accident. I'm blown away by it, I know how to do it but still not sure how it always works. 🤯
Regarding the first trick with its two packets five distinct cards, may I point out that there are five different images in the Evoke deck. The rest writes itself.
I think you make a mistake when you say self working tricks require no skill. They still require presentational skill. That is why so many people dislike them .... they have seen so many of these tricks presented badly....
Fully agree, its usually people with zero presentation skill that dislike self working tricks because they are devoid of any personality. You can do all the slights in the world but magic is 90% performance in most cases.
Self Working tricks can present other challenges that relying on our own sleight of hand can't cover. Chris Ramsey, another youtube Magician, kind of screwed up Chad Long's Shuffle Lesson on live TV. The News Reporter apparently knew how to shuffle and was extremely proud of this fact much to Chris's horror as he started overhand shuffling his half of the deck right away live on air. Chris was able to save it, but not the smooothest run of that particular trick. He uploaded that moment to his channel if you want to see it. Funnily enough, I kind of enjoy doing that trick at the bar to some tanked out people, sometimes even I'm amazed it still works. It also helps me practice giving clear, direct, yet friendly sounding instructions in less than perfect environments.
First trick is amazing. The coins add some great theatre as well as helping the method. Gemini Twins is a classic for a reason. And the Poker Players Picnic variation has stumped me completely... can't get my head round it at all. Killer!
First trick is mind blowing lol. Great video.
First effect is Howard Adams’ : Ramasee Prophesy It’s based on some cool binary mathematics theory
Not clear how to use binary arithmetic to explain this trick. With the initial set up (a, b, c, d, e) and (a, e, d, c, b) the trick is obvious.

What fantastic effects!! Love your handling of using a blank deck for Gemini Twins-- so good. And that first effect-- Wow!!!!!!
That first one with the coins was awesome!! I can't find it anywhere....

Dang! Loved these. Especially the business card effect to do with business clients! Thanks for doing this video.

Where can we find that first trick? I'm familiar with Gemini Twins and love, but can't seem to find "Perfect Coin Mates".

@@ConnorQuinnvocopy what Craig does, see if it works. Should do…
First trick... I lost interest. For me there was too much faffing around. As for the rest spot on brilliant!
