I still remember the interview after Summerslam. Honky said to Mean Gene, something like: "I said I'd wrestle anybody. I didn't say I'd wrestle a warrior. God damn it, Mean Gene, they sent a warrior. It's not fair. The belt is mine. I'm the greatest of all time!" A classic character in WWE history. Of course, that IC Title match was when I became a huge fan of the Ultimate Warrior.

Arguably in the top 3 greatest heels of all time pantheon, surrounded by Rick Rude ( R.I.P. ), & prime heel, late 70's-late 80's Randy Savage ( R.I.P. ). HTM was a brilliant performer, well-spoken, & highly underrated. He mastered how to work a crown into a frenzy with what he said, good bumps & body language. His interviews in the early part of his IC reign, he was a powder keg on the mic, well before Bubba Ray Dudley's infamous ppv pipe bomb. The pop he got when he dropped the IC belt was like an orgasm reaching climax. This is what pro wrestling is missing today. Honky, the writers, & everyone who was involved with his IC title reign, right up to this build up did everything right. Fans could not wait to finally see Honky get beat! It didn't matter if Warrior was the shits- that was one of the greatest crowd pops of all time

The same analogy can be used for Warrior and Berg. They weren’t supposed to be putting on a technical spectacle, they were supposed to make fans thing they are unstoppable with brute force no nonsense smash mouth action. If Vince thought it was important to make him train to work correctly then he would have before he gained this poor reputation with his peers. Vince only cared about the money and not so much about his talents health and well being back then. Imagine the warrior with proper training? It could have been beautiful if done right, there is a middle ground that could have been met.
