- Impromptu guitar duet played by Marty Grosz and Bucky Pizzarelli - recorded in the Hospitality Lounge at the Elkhart Jazzfest 2008 jazz festival in Elkhart, IN - June 20, 2008.
Wonderful playing by two masters and a pleasure to hear acoustic archtop guitars,
@phjost & fakebookman,
Both these old codgers (!!) played with my uncle, the late Major ("Mule") Holley, who was one of the busiest and most traveled freelance bass players who kept a junky apartment in NYC...thanks for posting this!!
BRAVO! Fantastic! Living legends playing classic songs! Generations of music! My ears!
Thanks for posting this! Great clip.
I was lucky enough to see both Marty and Bucky last weekend at the Elkhart Jazz Festival (though not together).
Wow...these guys are music.
Wow, some truly historic footage. I don't think I ever saw Bucky play with Marty.
Nice!
absolutely wonderful... thanks for the time put into this...
This is one of my favorite things. Actually, the piece is credited to Dick McDonough on the original published chart. The duets by Kress and McDonough are real gems and it's a treat to see and hear such great modern guitarists playing like they love it.
Thank you so much for posting this clip,wonderful playing from two wonderful guitarists and beautiful people to boot.I hope they will be around making music like this for a long time to come
"Start crying" Lol What a great man Bucky is..
Worth it for Marty's toes alone.
GREATTTT !!!
Молодцы! Дай Бог им здоровья! Кайф!
A new chord for every note (or even half-note) seems to be Marty Grosz's strategy. His command of chords was equalled - argueably - by only one other guitarist - Barney Kessel, albeit of a different jazz persuasion.
hahahah
