Clara Lieu was an Adjunct Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design from 2007-2020. Her artwork has been exhibited at the International Print Center NY, the Currier Museum, Childs Gallery, the Davis Museum, and more. Lieu received an artist fellowship from the MA Cultural Council, has written for the NY Times, and lectured at Brown University, the NAEA conference, and in Vancouver & China. Imposter syndrome is a tricky thing. This is a good reminder that almost all of us go through it, and that it's okay to feel that way.

I got a BA instead of an open-ended BFA portfolio process at a university because I had five years of credits and my parents were moving out of state. My focus had been painting, but faculty was a mis-match re art -isms. A night graphics course helped me keep pace with a graphics trainee job -- we painters felt destined for pasteup.
