I just stumbled upon this video! You both are SO fun!! So I’m 36 and I started collecting Pyrex in my early 20’s. Back in the early/mid 2000’s Pyrex was CHEAP! Even the turquoise, pink, promos and HTF pieces! I had an impressively LARGE collection!! I married my husband, we tried to start a family but bc of infertility issues, we decided to adopt. SO I sold off 93% of my collection, starting around 2013. Over the course of a couple years, I ended up making 4 times the amount I paid for all the Pyrex bc it was starting to become super popular! I now look at people’s beautiful collections and swoon over them bc I used to have all those pieces! I had all the ones mentioned in this video that were wish pieces…starburst, eyes and I still have stems! HOWEVER, my two adopted children were well worth the sacrifice! And now, 10 years later, I’m in a position to start hunting again! Someday I will have an impressive collection again but I’ll enjoy the hunting and searching along the way!! ❤❤
It makes you part of the cult! I’m having so much fun looking at everyone’s patterns. Also guessing it’s from around the year when your mom got married?
I have always wanted to see Paige's Pyrex collection!! My collection is mostly Spring Blossom, but there's some Butterprint and Forest Fancies too. I also collect some Glasbake and Fire King because I just love vintage housewares.
You know what? I forgot my mom also has 2 pieces of forest fancies!!!!!! Those are so groovy, especially now that mushrooms are everywhere. So fun to look up all these patterns.
This was fascinating! Yes, please do more collections! I have a nesting set of Pyrex bowls that were my parents’ - white with turquoise roosters and wheat. I’m guessing they were a wedding gift, so made circa 1966, and the motif was a nod to my Mom’s farm childhood in Manitoba, Canada 🇨🇦.
