Good morning from Germany, the early bird catches the worm.😊
Thanks for the video,,,, Im glad that I could visit Herons Bonsai and meet Mr Peter
You did a good job for the customer. I hope it is appreciated...😊
wow, what a beautiful pot! I hope the owner leans all in on the dragon and gives those jins a burnt look 🤭
Very interesting back story. I’m thinking the customer is a fan of D&D…I love it.
Not an unnecessary comment to raise the rating of the channel!))
I haven't. a clue how to do that
I really enjoy the videos you make i show them to my kids we are going to start to do bonzi because of you think you i really enjoyed the one you did on the oak
Thank you. I always feel better listening to the information you share.
What you have explained makes perfect sense. The tree looks superb in that pot. Have a good day Peter.
That was a jackpot 😊
How wonderful watching you shape this tree. What a masterpiece
Always informative and enjoyable, thank you.
Omg awesome ❤️ i am a fire Dragon from 1976 i love it ❤️
Love the styling videos.Thats the art really
I would love to see a discussion on the process of importing/quarantining a tree, if you happen to know any people. I know Bjorn from Eisei-en has talked about helping ship and receive very expensive, high-value trees internationally before, but I imagine that whomever has the job of quarantining priceless bonsai destined for an exhibit or wealthy client must present a fascinating conversation
Thx for sharing Peter 👍
Hi Peter,
You said something interesting. You have to give the tree some air. After you reshape the tree it does look better in the pot. I guess you can trim the tree to fit the design of the pot. As a beginner I always learn something new from your vlog. Thanks for sharing. 🙏🙏🙏
Fantastic marriage of pot to tree. I have to say a maple would not have been right. Not sure if I would have been brave enough to do this. Thats why you are the master Peter
Perfect!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Very nice!
Hi there I’m from South Africa and there is a plant called a fire thorn that I think that will be the perfect Match for that pot do get me wrong the on that’s Peter choose is really nice but the fire thorn has bright orange berry wow it would be a perfect match for that pot! The Peter for sharing
Excellent video and educational examples. I have seen many plants bonsai etc that are beautiful in the wrong pot or facing the wrong direction and wanted to rescue them lol. I did enjoy the red leaf colour of the maple with the pot (it really made the dragon noticeable) however not the right tree at all. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge Mr Chan
It was so nice of you Peter to watch my trees for me your friend Bret. I look forward to seeing you and my trees when I get back to the u k
Great meeting you and your beloved at the workshop yesterday.
I could leave that tree behind and never look back.
Love.
I think the dragon's sinuous tail requires equally convoluted branches. Great video! Thanks!
_THANK YOU_ ... 🙏 😔 🙏
Dr. Chan, that was an interesting exercise.
Where did you get the pot and what style dragon is that. Where can fellow dragons find a copy or is it a one of a kind?
Also, an early Happy Birthday❗
🙏 🖖 🙏 😔 🙏
I think the red leaf of the maple suits the pot if not the upright style of that particular tree. In my mind the pot colour and texture is quite volcanic and could be thought of as a fiery volcano where a dragon lives. The red leaves imitate a fire.
Agreed, the red maple would be a good fit if the trunk would be more twisted like the dragon.
Rugged pot, rugged tree. It’s perfect! 👍
its as if the dragon will climb the ladder to its perch that grew from its eggshell pot
Nice
A "Jin" is a bare-stripped part of branch
A "Shari" is a barkless part of trunk
An "Uro" is a hollow, irregularly-shaped wound in the trunk
Can you tell me about the famous tree ?
The shape of the pot suggests a cascading variety, however I would lose the dragon as it creates a distraction.
How do you go about repotting trees in these sort of free form pots? Won’t they be very difficult once the rots have filled out into the pot?
very difficult - you might have to break the pot because it is incurve.

Great story Peter!
Are you planning a Lodder video?
Kind regards, Ashwin
Yes I hope to but trying to fit everything in is difficult.
Thanks Peter for the time. Take it easy and I will wait patently like I learned from you in bonsai.🫶🏼
Ha, I'm very early today, good morning!
actually you are SO early, that my computer says the video is from 2 minutes ago while your comment is 3 minutes ago lol

My first thought was a literati, but the incongruity of a rather massive rugged pot and the delicacy of a tree essence seemed a bit much. As you always say Mr. Chen, everyone has a vision that not all have to accept. In the end I liked your choice, although the tree looked a bit small compared to the size of the pot. Again, it is just how I see it on the screen. If I had the opportunity to see it live, maybe it would pook different. Thank you, again, for an enjoyable moment on a rainy Sunday morning.
The world is not perfect
that foot of the stand right on the edge is stressful
I'm very interested... is it possible to get bonsai from lavender? this plant is very beautiful with a miniature trunk. But is it possible to make a bonsai from a bushy plant with flowers?
Yes you can. Lavender have nice twisted trunks when they are old .
@@peterchan3100 oh, thank you! Now I want to try it😌
this is Korea patee please ?
De belles vidéos mais je comprends pas
👍👌👌🙂
I want that pot, do you have a link for it?
Pot is a troll pot , will be at Heathrow show first of October , if you can make it .

Plants imported to the U.S. have varying entry requirements. In addition to a listing in the FAVIR database, plants imported to the U.S must be healthy. Plants imported to the U.S. must be free of insects. Plants imported to the U.S. should have bare roots without growing media on the roots.
Other requirements might include additional documentation, even when you do not need a permit. Needed documents might include endangered species paperwork, depending on the plant imported. Those who import and export endangered species of plants must follow the rules of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Flora and Fauna (CITES) and the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Under these rules, you must get a USDA Protected Plant Permit to import endangered plants. Importers of endangered species of plants must also get necessary permits under the USDA’s regulations for nursery stock. Additionally, CITES-listed plants must enter the U.S. through certain ports and inspection stations.
About the same for most countries but what about the soil on the plants? I was told that you have to remove every grain of soil off.
@@peterchan3100 Read ALL of my post. It says "Plants imported to the U.S. should have bare roots without growing media on the roots".
@@peterchan3100I am reminded, "you can bring in just about anything, as long as it is _bare root_ and _dormant"._ It also helps if there is no foliage attached.
I owe you an apology, Dr. Chan. Your trees are exactly where they belong, at home.

I was disturbed to see you remove so many nice branches to fit the tree to the pot, rather than finding a better pot for the tree!
For once I disagree. But you're the master.
There is no right or no wrong - just a different point of view.
This was disturbing to watch. I don't like it when the appearance of the tree is matched to an existing pot.I think this pot pushes too much into the foreground and takes away the effect of the previously good tree.
Different people see things differently
The tree was quite cluttered before. I like the improvents made to it.
@@peterchan3100 This is why I watch your incredible channel. I'm always learning new approaches. Thank you so much Peter.
I thoroughly enjoy watching you so much however, I'm sorry to say I'm really disappointed and what you've done with this tree.
I respect your point of view but the majority seem to like what I did. I always welcome feedback so keep giving me your frank opinion
@@peterchan3100 i appreciate you replied sir. I'm glad to be able to give feedback. someone once said those who create the bonsai are like interior decorators in that everyone's vision for the beauty within each unique space is different. I recognize My eye is not nearly as seasoned as yours sir. God bless you for the joy you share in simple quiet things.
Peter, Czechoslovakia existed from 1918 (Treaty of Versailles). It ended in the 'Velvet Divorce' in January 1993. For the last 30 years, Czechoslovakia has not existed. Please don't refer to Czechoslovakia. Do you mean Czech Republic, or Slovak Republic?
