    How are you liking the updated clutching on the 9r? I haven’t been out yet since getting the recall done! Also that color way is probably the best looking sled on the snow!

    • @JasonCaville
      @JasonCaville  Рік тому

      The sled is working awesome but revving a bit high for our elevation (6000-7500 ft). I'll likely test some heavier weights. First I'll call my dealer and see what they've done for other guys with the same sled riding in the same area. Thanks for the comment!

    It it seems like you’re really loving the 9R. Any good time at altitude where power loss occurs yet? On hard pack trails like in the north east America, the scratchers really come through. Even on a trail sled with smaller lugs than you, the snow can be so hard the scratchers are sometimes a must for lube and cooling.

    • @JasonCaville
      @JasonCaville  Рік тому +1

      I haven't noticed power loss at all. It pulls very hard and is crazy responsive. It does rev high though, 8700RPM. Those scratchers seem awesome so far! Where in the north east do you ride? Just curious. Thanks for the comment.

      @@JasonCaville I live at the bottom of New York but have a cabin in Maine. I trail ride because of money and I’m alone, my friends aren’t active in the sport at this time. Not worth buying a rig and getting into trouble alone off trail. Big time American east mountain riding in my area though, one of the top zones for snow and mountains

    What type of temps do you see when your heading up the trail from your truck ?

    • @JasonCaville
      @JasonCaville  Рік тому

      We had a bit of fresh at the start and the 9R 155X325 was at 109°F. When we hit some icier parts it went up to 128°F. I try to get fresh snow on the sides every chance I get. An 850 in our group with a 165x275 didn’t put his scratchers down and hit 200°F and the sled shut down. It was about -2°C out.

    • @mudman6227
      @mudman6227 Рік тому

      @JasonCaville thanks for info. Had a 165 850 in our group today did similar.
      The slash with the tiny snow flap doesn't help.
      Might try an aux cooler for this season cause there's no snow in the forecast for sunpeaks

    Ice Age have a rail cap kit for the 2024 Matryx. I may purchase it for my wife’s sled, but for now I just smoothed down the front of the hyfax: ua-cam.com/users/shortsl4JxJnBjTmM?si=_WWHi-K2sJrw6mdS
    I was tempted to leave it, and let Polaris deal with it when something happens, but that doesn’t help if we’re 40 miles into the backcountry lol.

    • @JasonCaville
      @JasonCaville  Рік тому +1

      I saw those too. Whiskey Throttle Powersports in Alberta carries them. I noticed the hyfax was sticking out at the front when I bought the sled. I checked them on our last ride and it looks like they're getting worn down by the track clips.
