There is a scientific reason behind it. You actually concentrate harder when writing down with pen and paper. Also when writing notes takes longer which makes you spend quality time thinking of what you write. Typing is faster but usually ends up just transcripting what you hear. Conversely, writing with pen you usually write some in your own words and summarize and simplify whilst writing
@@DavidLM69but while using an ipad to take notes most people use a stylus, paired with w matt paperfeel screen protector the experience becomes very close to the conventional pen and paper note taking.
Thanks! I'll try going full digital. I did buy a laptop with a pen & tablet mode specifically for the possible hand made note taking. Now I'm starting my first maths course at uni. I'll keep one set of pen and paper handy as a backup if ever feel there's too much "friction" to the workflow by using digital pen and software. Pen and paper is after all extremely easy, reliable and quick to use.
Thank you so much for your videooo, in Brazil tech-costs aren't kidding. Your video helped me a lot with my decision. I'll pick digital for note-taking and practice with physical, in order to retain information.
Ahh but paper forces you to think and plan more because it's harder to edit. Which in a way trains you to be more efficient and think ahead. Also more screen time is bad for eyes.
Hello, I am a Bolivian who found your channel by chance, I dream of studying mathematics in Cambridge or Oxford and I am 17 years old and I have a year left to finish high school and I would like some advice to prepare for university or should I not put too much pressure on myself now that I am spending part of my time learning English in a private school and I don't know if I should be doing something else
One factor is there - the form factor of iPad is not convenient to learn stuff compared to paper size … The A4 size allows you to grasp stuff much better ..
Hello, I am a 17-year-old Bolivian student, I have a year left to finish high school and lately I have been feeling lost in terms of being productive in my studies either by reading or withholding information but in the end after watching some videos I see that I have wasted time watching many productivity youtube channels since I spend most of my time watching that kind of videos, I think those would be some of the reasons why my grades went down, I feel that if I continue like this I will not get anywhere and they will eat me live when abroad; I dream of being a mathematician and studying at a top 100 university and that it be Asian, anyway I am writing to you because I saw your videos of life advice for teenagers and I felt very identified since I am antisocial and I hardly do anything more than see do my homework and watching TV, the only good thing I do is exercise and meditate; I used to watch youtube videos with the idea of creating a system that would help me improve my grades and at the same time really learn but I'm not achieving any of that so I unsubscribed from those youtube channels and now I'm looking for study vlogs and trying to find one with a style similar to mine in such a way that I can keep up with it and be productive once a day, in short, I am just writing this to you in the hope that you will answer me and maybe help me reorganize my life since my life is not about the screen and although if I am learning I feel that I do not dedicate anything to learning a skill and so far the youtube channels that I have seen do not resemble my reality and that is why I found a channel dictated by a Hindu who I inspire myself to be better but I feel that I am not applying it, that is why I think I am looking for Indian channels because their situation is similar to that of Latin Americans and therefore I identify myself better, I also look for Asian channels that hopefully I can translate into Spanish through s subtitles since even though I take English courses I still need to practice listening anyway I hope you answer me
I found that writing new material on paper helps me remember it better not sure why. Ipads are great for practice problems though :)!
I agree! 😉

How has it been going? Are you fully digital now or did you go back to paper and pen?

Yes, I definitely agree on this one!!
@@ioanaroman2947 hehe thanks for replying. Hope you share more about your math journey!

great video Ioana!!!
Thanks a lot! ☺️
I definitely prefer paper. I just like the feel and somehow it is also impossible for me to study on a tablet. Like 0 chance.
Thanks for the video. Which ipad or tablet is more convenient in taking notes from your perspective.
I have to buy a large notebook every month or 2 due to how much math i do
It has been quite some time, hope your studies are going well ))
Haha yes it’s all going quite well, hopefully I can stay on track now 😉
Really insightful! Thank you
I use paper. Always best. Online for questions

The A4 size allows you to grasp stuff much better ..
The 12.9 inch iPad is the same size as an A4 paper, of course it's a lot more expensive that other options though.
what calculator do you use?
I love buying fancy stationeries but whenever it comes to note taking I always use ipad instead lol
Couldn’t have said it any better haha
What about Microsoft?

Ioanna
Do you use a paperlike film on top of the iPad for writing?
I used to, but I don’t have one anymore- I got used to writing on the actual glass screen quite easily ☺️
@@ioanaroman2947 Thank you. So, how often do you have to replace the tip on the Apple pencil?
So far I’ve never had to, and I’ve been using my iPad consistently for almost 3 years. :)
@@ioanaroman2947 Thank you.
