I actually wanted to make it crows like in the book but I'm not that good of an artist. It took me forever to make the character graphics and the maps and I didn't want to spend hours on making crows so for the sake of time-saving I changed it to bats haha. I'm glad you found the fight with the door funny, I thought it fit with the theme of the Oz books having "out there" enemies.
Looks like there are standard sprite set of crow done in RPG Maker, if i remember well. Anyway i found some row sprites in Google image, searching "rpg maker crow sprite"
I was just eating my lunch and had this crazy idea for an RPG Maker project, then found this and my dreams are shattered.
The OZ books have a lot of RPG potential. Don't give up on your idea just because someone beat you to the punch. ;)
