I used to listen to this in a period when I had to take many flight trips to visit my family abroad. I hated flying, but through my geek self, I thought this music was extremely soothing in those particular moments in my life. Interesting xd
Great Translation and timings! it's one of my favorite openings and game of all time. Slight lyric error (I THINK) @ 0:55: QuelI->{ Cls(ethes f ds-b ciol) { EX[zep]->{ciol f koh}; } am { EX[teth]->{hymeliya}; } Cls(soh hymm) { EX[irtr]->{hymm f ethes ciol} } }->ExeC->{TzW}; starts actually after wa-fen-du pe-wez-iz-chai; fam tes-fen-ne faa hau-re koo-ja; soh-ne hau=iyon-ne i-fer-eq pe-ryan-ne wa-fen; ih-rey-uii; before main part 1, not with it. Very nice to have translation to these songs!
+SeraphimSystem Thanks for watching! I'm not sure exactly what REON-4213 lyrics you are talking about (the REON lyrics you mentioned end at 0:40), but if you mean "QuelI->{EX[lic]->{iyon ciel ih ciel};…", which starts at 0:48, it exactly starts with "pe-wez-iz-chai", both in the song and in this video :) And I would be appreciated if you could tell me more about what you consider to be an error at 0:55.
+AbstractGarden i just heard the reon summond command at the hymm amidst the chaos... i just wanted to know if at 1:00 is it repeating the reon lyrics. i think it is but im not 100% sure.
@@HadeaRin No, it isn't. The main motif has similitudes to that of the classic Singing Hill melody, but it actually hearkens back to Ciel nosurge's opening theme and chapter 12 song. This song isn't Ec Tisia.
@@aquagondrag I mean that many of the melody are also used in all Singing Hill song. Like you could hear some part exist in Eolia, a part is in Frelia, and some parts could be coming from Tillia. It is different to the way Ec Tisia do things since Ec Tisia used the same lyrics and exact same sequence coming from a part of each Singing Hill. Surge Concerto series only have the similarity in melody where all three exist in this song.
Rewatching this after watching walkthrough of the game. What I likes from this is that how Delta only likes Cass and faithful to her since day one. Also no Purge system from AT3 since it made me uncomfortable before, partially because I'm not the actual target demographic. Hopefully Gust would remaster this game to Switch or the likes because the console it originally come from is dead.
@@KikuraKun shame there is no PC release for any of the games, i would kill for Ar tonelico 1 and 2 with high quality sprites and an improved combat system for AT1.
Really wish this was released for PC. Sure you can emulate it, but a lot of stuff breaks if you do. I hope Gust takes another shot at Ar Tonelico/NoSurge in the future.
I haven't played the game, but I do know about the meta elements, so I have to ask: Is this song summoning the player to direct the cast? Because the lyrics sure sound like they're executing code to open a connection to our dimension. And if the song *is* summoning the player...is this an actual event in the game? Like, do you learn at some point that a character actually sang this song to summon the player, and that execution is what the opening was?
Maybe, this game have a lot of break the 4th wall moment. Later in the game, the character starting to know that player (us) are controling them & even talk to player.
This is a simplified explanation that dilutes the transdimensional magic shit going on, but the character Earthes in the game is literally you, the player, interfacing with the setting of the game through a robot avatar. Other characters know you are from another world, there are other characters transported to the setting from other worlds, and one of the antagonists is implied to be another "player" treating the setting as a game like you. Shit gets meta real fast, basically.
Honestly, I quite enjoyed my time with the original. I could see why it gets repetitive, but destroying the entire enemy line in one go felt pretty satisfying
One of the best opening in modern jrpg.
the songs has so much sense with the main plot...
Love the Opening in the background. Really makes the hair on your arms stand up.
Sing this feels like sing the anthem of your country. I just love it

+SeraphimSystem It's quite likely but no one (maybe) is sure about what the lyrics are actually like. Even Geno-musica tells us nothing about them.
+AbstractGarden i see but thanks for putting this video together. great work
thes~so~amazing~!!!!
Why you always make great videos.. I loved this game, got the collector's edition ^_^
thes is the bast video I've EVER seen! >:)
it reminds me of the ar tonelico 1 opening
the opening lyrics are the same in emotional song pact and hymmnos :)
The music are combination of all Singing hills

It's the prequel to the Ar Tonelico series.

Well, it will be remastered through current gen in Japan as of now.

I hope the newest version gets localized
the low number of views and likes, and the presence of a dislike is criminal

I think the newest version has a PC port.
nah I just emulated it after found out DX ver is censored, everything work fine so far
i am crying, stupid first game's story, every time i hear music from this series.
Ooh I love thes one more than the attors

This game really need a remaster equal to Odin Sphere remastered. Fix the gameplay yet retain the story.

Cross ange?
The singer of this song, Akiko Shikata, was also the composer of the Cross Ange OST.
