For Anyone who does not know the language that is used in this video, please note that the language is called "Hymnos" a language that was made up for this game. it is mixture of many different language, if I am right Italian, German, French, Japanese, etc. Hymnos is a language made to emphasize on emotions than any other languages, thus the reason why it could create such amazing songs
You know i love this song because of it's simplicity it's only 8 lines long but the build up and the instruments really make this song stand out like it does.
This song actually put tears in my eyes. It's one of the most beautiful songs ever. I only wish video games live would include the series in their lineup
KOKIA, theo ne singing this, really makes these sort of songs really feel ancient and cultural! It really brings out the magnificence out of this game!!!
I feel like walking around in a metropolis of a human civilization whose advancement is neither on the technological side nor the ancient arts, but the mix of both!
I love Ar Tonelico. I love how each one of the trilogy has a different take on the gameplay, and I love the story and the music. I just wish it was more than a trilogy, and that it would get a little more credit.
A more proper translation would be this: "Please, listen to me" "I don't wish to steal your powers or lives" "As every single life is precious to the existence of this world" "They shouldn't be disregarded or discriminated" "I wish for this to never happen again, so please, give us hope" "I know that humans aren't righteous creatures" "So please, give hope to those who wish to coexist with you".

¿What is the name of the original language of this song?
imagine making a fictional language complex enough that there's different interpretations and translations of lyrics also cant believe you still here after 8 years, you are doing god's work
@@th1cc It's not exactly that it's complex, rather ambiguous. Hymmnos has no conjugation markers, so in the lack of any time-marking words, tense is entirely up to interpretation. It also has a rather limited vocabulary and instead channels most of its meaning through the emotion words. A proper translation has to correctly interpret the emotion words to retranslate their nuance into the rest of the sentence the way normal human languages work.
You should really check out other Ar tonelico songs then! I think this game is the only one where the soundtrack is hating on you while battling a disturbing boss, lol
Surge Concerto series also use it's own language; _Emotional Song Pact_ and _REON-4213._ The latter is a programming language based on the former, it seems. But, again, Ar Tonelico and Surge Concerto series are developed by the same team basically. They are nuts.
Yet again, massive thank you to Myra for providing this video. I saw the scene in the game where this song plays and it was just awesome, like many scenes in this game series. Heck, silly game manages to tear me up oftenly (Finnel Cosmosphere level 8. Baww) ^^
i really love this game, game developers today often forget how important good music is. all ar tonelico games deliver from a sound design viewpoint. im happy i bought the LE including the soundtrack.
+Troy Laviolette I asked my long-time music teacher (she has a MA in music) and she told me neo-classical, though she seemed unsure as well. Not much help, sorry . :(
+Troy Laviolette I consider it a Japanese classical/Opera mixture of sorts... Neo-classical might work but I think "opera" fits most AT songs. The only one that is purely J-Pop is Exec_Z (which is also great, but it's totally obvious what it is).

That's my own translation from ARM and the Ar tonelico Wikia, both of which have the feelings of the song published in the Settei Book 3 as their basis.
Still love it even though it has 2020 now. Hope english version will be realease soon. I like the battle sistem, story, side quest n the girls we can choose on this game. Hope 4 season coming soon too.
"Note: Just to not upset anyone, I chose Omnis and paired it with "End" because they were both at the end of the lines. Sorry if this offends anyone, my logic is very simple. =)" That's not logic. That's bad translation.
@MarmotaBurst4th I'm glad you express so much interest in the Hymmnos language. I would suggest joining [if you haven't already] the forum A Reyvateil's Melody to further this discussion. You can post this in the translation page where I took the lyrics from. I myself do not know Hymmnos and rely on the translations of members on that forum, so please do not direct this at me. I just make videos for people's enjoyment.
@toomarin It has been mentioned by earlier commentators as the language sung is Hymmnos which is a language that is used almost exclusively by Reyvateils (an artificial humanoid race that are all women) in the Ar Tonelico series. The language itself is soft of a distant descendant of the English language with influences from the Japanese, Sanskrit and German languages. Hope that helps~!
@Temojikato they are Hymmnos. Not spoken anywhere outside of this game, since it's a constructed language made exclusively to be used in Ar tonelico, but the developer is kind enough to give us info about grammars and vocabs
I should thank you. Thanks to this video I'm able to sing this without need of looking at the lyrics so I've taken to singing it to myself getting weird looks from others.
Kind of reminds me of a song I recently found back from vague memories after many years. It's nice the internet some times manages to let one find things back like this.
@@Quickshot0 Yeah, totally! I originally actually found this song not from the game itself, but from a link in some fiction on the site Royalroad funnily enough, back when it first changed from a translation site to one for hosting original fiction. I listened to this while reading a chapter of that years and years ago, and it was almost a religious experience lmao. I've kept coming back periodically to Ar Tonelico music over the years ever since.
This song took me months to find, the Homeworld mod Fairy Empire used it in their title screen and it didn't give credit anywhere. I finally found it by rooting around in the comments of areas I'd checked a hundred times before...
Ah yes. This thing. Apparently, the Ar tonelico prequels involve the exact same stuff Homeworld does. It's a hell of a coincidence. Yes, a Gaalsien Kanon would be terrifying.

@dobadobadooo As for Luca, I can see where you are coming from, but I think it helps to play both sides of cloche and luca's route to balance it out. The real problem in AT2 was that if you chose one path, it would greatly exaggerate one girl's pain while the other one looked like she was absolutely fine and she was the one causing trouble.
