කතාබහේදි අපි දොරට තට්ටු කරනවා කියන්න Knock on the door වගේම Knock at the door භාවිතා කරනවා. ඒත් ඔයාල විභාගයකදි වගේ ලියද්දි මේ රීති මතක තියා ගන්න එක වඩා හොඳයි. --> 1. දොරට තට්ටු කරනවා කියද්දි (Knock ක්‍රියා පදයක් විදියට ) Knock on the door භාවිතා කරන්න. Eg: He knocked on the door. Someone is knocking on the door.
2. දොරට තට්ටු කරන සද්දයක් ගැන කියන්න (Knock නාම පදයක් විදියට) Knock at the door භාවිතා කරන්න. Eg: There was a knock at the door; I heard a knock at the door.
