Although you and Steve (HP) are the most experienced and articulate (of your fellow UA-camrs), Mike and Simon's perspective are relatable to me (a mortal). I like this format and I hope to see more demos with some of your students (of different skill levels) as part of their progress.

I really like how this was presented. Would like to see more of this format. Great way to get a feel for how the bike rides. To meet the riders ability levels.
Love that Jeff always stays down to earth and unbiased even with sponsors, pushes these bikes to the limit but also does reviews like these, and gets his hands on the less reviewed stuff (this, Knolly, Orbea).

5'9" 175 lbs. Came off a 27.5 Canyon Spectral. Now own a 2022 Stumpy Evo Pro and love it! Big wheels, perfectly tuned suspension, top-end parts. Only 4 months on the new bike but it gets better with every ride - just need the legs to get it up to speed and it's magic. And, it climbs, again, the horst link and specialized specific tune work perfectly together. As you can tell I can't say enough good things about this bike.
I like the format. Having the three of you with your different levels and styles gives a broad look at the bike and it’s use ability for different riders.

Keep rockin the beard. You won't get carded for a drink anymore. : ) Nice review and the it was brilliant to have different level riders to give input. I think this proves that it is difficult to find a one quiver bike, and this bike is more than most need. Demanding terrain is needed to get the most out of it. There is a reason the Stumpy EVO is everywhere. The price is median for the market and it is so adjustable. I have a last gen Stumpy Elite. It is a great all-arounder, and the Butcher T9 up front is one of the best trail tires out there.
700mi in on my ‘22 SJ Evo, and it’s been a dream bike. Can’t wait to see you ride one Jeff, I think you’ll really like it! Setup wise high BB/short chainstay and 64.5 hta is the best config imo. The suspension works well in a wide setup range, but aggressive riders need a larger volume reducer in the shock as it comes with a 0.1, I’m 157 and use a 0.4

This is a perfect way to review a bike... I love having different level riders perspectives with the same bike/trail. On a different note, I just bought my first Mondraker and I instantly fell in love. I have never been able to even touch one in real life so I based my decision on the numbers, Best decision ever. Absolutely stoked on mine. Rock On JKW!

I just built a 2022 Evo Alloy S3 in 27.5. It's definitely a superb chassis! My first ride and I was only 10 seconds off my Strava PR on a local trail. Bonus, the Fox Float X is a significant improvement over the DXP as well. Can't wait to build a 29er wheelset and really get the max potential out of it.

Hey Jeff. Great video. Think I'm qualified to add some input here with my questionable bike choices. At 174cm I (crazily) bought a medium Pole Stamina 180, 480mm reach and 1306mm wheelbase. It was great for bombing down steep chunk and it climbed really, really well. Anything tight up or down it was a bit of a pig. Overall though, it was a very fast bike, that gave you a lot of confidence to ride it out of your comfort zone. I've now gone to a 2022 S3 Stumpjumper EVO and although it's less forgiving, it is more fun for me. It is so much more maneuverable and doesn't need to be ridden at the limit all the time. That Pole needed to have a fire lit under it the whole time to bring me joy but it was terrifying, tiring and exhilarating all at once. One thing I did notice with the long reach was hand pain whenever I came back from a spell off the bike. It was obvious the weight I was putting through the grips due to the long reach which gave me a lot of traction on the front but would become very tiring quite quickly until I got used to it. I did raise the bars a touch which helped alleviate this. Shorter reach bikes I've never had this sensation of putting so much weight through the grips.
It's hard to say anything that hasn't already been said but I love the "everyman" format of this video. I think we all daydream of riding new bikes on new trails, so it's fun to see people getting to do that and sharing the stoke.
Hey Jeff I own a Mondraker Dune and it's pretty similar to the SuperFoxy except for the wheel size. The Dune is a 650B bike. It is a real monster truck and dares for speed and is super confidence inspiring. That's why I've chosen it for my enduro racing bike . It clearly lacks nimbleness in tight narrow slow turns where the front wheel can suddenly fold away. You have to adapt your riding position and your muscles have to grow into the new effort. It's much harder on the shoulders as a shorter bike. I also noticed that I can breathe easier with the longer reach.
Simon is absolutely right that this bike isn't a quiver killer. That's why I also got an YT Izzo trailbike. The Mondraker is a true shred sled
I have a Large Geometron G1, it cna fit 200mm dropper slammed. I have a 185 dropper, the seat tube is straight and steep. I love the geometry and fit on this bike it's perfect for me. It has a longer chainstay but you can adjust, the seat stays too, set it up as mullet, or 27.5, or 29er, I have it in stock 29er setup.
For me cornering did not take much time to get used to, I felt ay home but balance point and timing is something that can take some time, but I cought pretty quick. I am sur ei would be able to ride the Mondraker quite well too, but I wish the kinked or short seat tubes were a thing of the past. Yet some brands insist on it. The G1 is no nonsense bike. Having chainstay that grows with the frame size is good, it keeps the balance point the same on all sizes. But on Mondraker it's same chainstay length on all sizes, so large bike will be easier to loop out, and smaller will be more balanced, and harder to loop out.

I purchased a 2021 super foxy size large in December and it has been quite an interesting progression. I am 5’9 185 on a size large believe it or not. The large is spec’d with a 150 dropper that lacks a couple of inches to insert fully. I agree this is ludicrous and a major issue for me but I believe I’ve solved it somewhat with a one up dropper. Should sit almost completely out of the way and hit exactly where I need it at the top on the large frame. It has taken me quite a while to get to a point where I feel really comfortable on the bike but now that I have figured it out and changed my riding style a bit the bike has absolutely COME ALIVE. I feel faster and more in control than I have on other bikes. I’ll admit I had serious concerns early on but glad I stuck with it and really found the sweet spot. For reference I commonly ride at the Kanuga bike park in North Carolina and most of my progression on the bike has come from lapping runs there.

As the owner of a 2020 Foxy, I found this very interesting. Simons comment about it "absorbing every mistake he made," is exactly how I feel about the bike. I've had numerous circumstances where the bike totally saved my a**. If I had been on my Norco Sight, I definitely would have been OTB. As far as climbing, I feel like the only limitation is the riders ability...it climbs like a mountain goat. You might not get to the top fast, but you will get there. I do have some issues with keeping weight on the front tire, and having the occasional wash out. Although it's more bike than I need, I'm happy I got it. It's most certainly saved me from some injuries. lol
Glad you're enjoying the bike Barnaby! I thought it climbed fine- until I got tired. Then it was a bit more to manage than something smaller. Solution? Ride more for better fitness!!! Haha! It's been ages since I rode the Sight, but that was a GREAT bike as well. I wish the Super Foxy allowed for as much seat post insertion as does the Sight!
what year sight do you ride? my 2020 is incredibly forgiving and saves my ass at least once a ride. But the geometry has changed so much as things evolve.

I have a 2021 Foxy and can relate so much to your comment. The bike is awesome but does miss some playfulness is my take away after 2 months of riding.
I bought a 2022 Foxy as a long overdue change from an older 26" dirt jump hardtail. Night and day difference and I agree with everything Barnaby said. Climbs really well and the stability absolutely helps me recover from mistakes that would be very problematic on the old bike. Loving it
This is a great idea! If you wanted to go one further, get a couple of XL riders (high and average skill level) on an XL version to see if the bike translates well to larger sizes too. Stack heights and chainstay lengths don't always correspond to bigger riders when you get to this size bike!
I agree with you as a 77" tall rider I find myself often between large & xl bikes. Often, I go with the large & a custom stem to get the snappier handling.

Love these kind of reviews. One "reviewer" one solid medioker rider and one shredder. What else can you really throw at the bike for a good review for the ppl watching. Love it! Everyone should do it like this. Only problem I have it a bit lack of different terrain, but hey first time and it could av been a swing and a miss. Butt it wasn't.
I have a 2020 SJ Evo and my brother just got a 2022 SJ Evo alloy frame.
They are common at certain trail heads in Maryland for sure.

THIS is actual, and real. It's not made up with people standing around holding what appears to be an empty beer can pretending to sip off of it. As this is one of my favorite bikes ever (that top tube, single line to the rear, so, so sexy) this was a fun watch. This is great and showcases the problem with many “reviews”. The majority of riders are not the top level in skills and speeds and buying bikes especially too big because of reviews of very fast riders leaves them with a bike that might not be the best for them.
As a fellow mediocre rider, it is nice to hear a range of opinions. Thanks for another great video

Great review format. Did you mention the trails you are riding? A brief Trail review would be a nice addition IMO also I liked the idea of integration of larger rider to see how the geometry translates. If you are ever testing in the SF, CA general area & want an average tall rider (with frame building experience) for a mash up let me know😜. Im a Pivot fan currently my main ride is a Large 2016 429 trail with custom Ti stem & 29" wheels.

I was thinking of Stompy Evo, but went for Orbea Occam LT instead. My previous bike was YT Capra and I have been waiting for Propain spindrift for 10months and decided I need a bike ASAP and it should be an AM bike since I am getting a tank whenever the Spindrift comes.
I would love to take this bike for a spin in Bentonville! I have always thought that the Mondraker bikes are some of the most beautiful bikes in the market.
