Everytime I see you ride and review its inspriring. It looks effortless watching your skills. Great review and props to your cameraman. He rocks.
Thanks! Yes, Logan shreds hard!
Its amazing how it seems easy with the footage of you guys riding... just ripping it effortless!
Thanks for another great review. Logan is a great addition. Good to see him behind the camera as well as on the bike. He is a keeper.
I think the color of the Firebird is greyeen.
I've been wanting you to ride the new firebird for quite sometime! I got this bike a few months ago and totally and immediately fell in love! It's the perfect balance for how I like to ride!
so sick! Bike looks very clean, and the sends were top notch!
Looks like that coil shock has no problems popping off those jumps. Fantastic riding Jeff. 🤘🏼
I ride the firebird and you mentioned exactly what I noticed first: very balanced, feeling home immediately, good cornering, stable…
Another fantastic review! You know it's a good bike when Jeff has no complaints about it in the initial ride video and is immediately comfortable on the bike
It's really good! I have some legit nit-picks, but this is 100% a bike I would feel comfortable recommending to my friends and family.
Nice review. I love riding the Firebird after coming from a Ripmo AF. It’s a more capable Ripmo, which is well suited to my riding style & the local DH trails.
Sick bike and also a huge fan of LMNT. Citrus salt is my current go-to.
The new shop looks great. I've missed some videos leading up to this. Happy 4th of July weekend to the JKW family
Logan does not fear the send! This was a fun video!
Got the LMNT sample pack late last year and I love the stuff. Won't start a ride without LMNT in my waterbottle.
Thank you!
I was honestly just waiting for you to jump in an X-Wing at the end of the video to join Luke attacking the Death Star. Love the kit.
Love to see Logan tearing trails up! Gotta bring a bike next trip to costa rica! I also can now say i love pivot I switched my ripley to a trail 429
Great to see pivot again
I was at a bike park in Europe recently and they had the Firebird avail, thought I’d give it a try.
Found it rides much lighter than what I’d expect from the specs, which is good. On the spectrum between nimble\playful vs stable/confident, found it’s very much on that nimble end… so very easy to jump, change directions, etc… but felt I had to ride it with much more surgical precision when at speed because that extreme nimbleness does make it naturally skittish.
Which country?
@@th_js - howdy, I was at Les Gets/Morzine bike park in France. Super amazing place, a bike shop called Delavay Sports rents Pivots and Commencal (the Supreme DH is absolutely incredible, which I rented as well)
Let's go 💪🏾 Logan was sending it. Great video 💯🤙🏾
I asked for element samples and tried them during a long race. It's a reliable product, good taste and was easy too use. ✌🏽
Good to hear, thanks Leo!
Would love a firebird! Those trails are sweet as but man you two ride with so much style and ease!
Oh I think it's grey
I dropped my first SRAM Eagle cassette straight out of the box on the concrete floor. It was exciting.
I am dropping new parts all the time. Yesterday it was a new bike day for me (bought Orbea Occam LT.. thanks to your review!) and dropped a couple of parts 😂
Hello Jeff....i love to see your bike review. As we know lately many manufacturers have already started producing long bikes. Maybe after this I can see the Transition Spire so called The Nimble Bruiser...low, long & slack. Thanks
I've done the classic velcro under the brake pad fins trick on my XT 4pots and it's silenced the brake pad rattle. Its annoying that they make so much noise out of the box but its a simple fix. Great vid Jeff :D
I just got my Pivot Switchblade and it's more than capable enough for my use. That thing would be overkill for me, so glad I can watch someone use it at least. Looks like another proper tool on wheels.
Yeah, I feel exactly the same. Got my Switchblade a bit over a year ago and always looked at the Firebird as "too much bike" for my level of skill and what I can ride. It's pretty satisfying to watch someone who does have the skill to take full advantage of it though!
I've been riding my Switchblade for about 3 months and absolutely love it. I've hit double black trails locally and never felt under-biked. I demo'd the Firebird recently just for fun and boy is that thing fast downhill, just not willing to take the uphill penalty. Sooooo fast though and stable.
Aggressor is an xc tire 🤯🤯... Guess I'm an xc nerd with my double down aggressor 😂. Really liking these reviews lately 🤘
SO happy you got your hands on this one! I'm riding my OG Ripmo and loving it, but just lately been getting a little curious about what's on the market these days. Was looking at this, the Spire, a few other things. Keep coming back to thinking if I buy a 2nd bike it'll just be a full on DH bike though, for the bike park days. Everything else just seems like it would be marginal upgrades over the Ripmo in terms of capability at the limits.
Bro at this time of age no need for a dh bike at bike park
@@flashfive23 Yeah you're right, it's just the hedonic treadmill, telling me to spend more money.
I wrote a response to this video about the pivot brand and the short version of what happened to me a couple of years ago. If you are riding Ibis I would not even consider pivot. Long story short their warranty service is complete crap.
i like Logans style so much. Its so smooth and clean with the ocasional huck to flat, but them bikes gotta be tested. 😅👍
HOLY CRAP, Logan is a freaking ripper!!!!
Good vid, looks like a nice bike. You prob know this already but if u go with fin less pads and the brake chatter noise u mentioned will disappear. Keep rippin. Cheers
Looking good, going fast. Safety third :P
I once dropped a customers brand new S-Works frame on the floor. Chipped a good chunk of paint off of the headtube.
I love your videos, keep trying out new bikes
I dropped my brand new Renthal stem the day I got it but I managed to catch it right before it hit the ground. Also that pivot looks amazing.
Scratched my brand new Deity Copperhead stem on my first ride going down in a super chill rock garden. So annoyed, but hey it's a mountain bike after all....
Love the channel, would love to see your review of a trek slash!
Jeff, would love for you to have a crack on the Switchblade on the exact same trails & do a compare on the two. Slightly less travel but similar aesthetics to the Firebird.
Man I love that Pivot!
excellent review as always Jeff. I just built a custom Switchblade (already watched your review for that bike) and wondering if I should have gone up to the firebird instead. The swicthblade doesn't like the bigger hits/drops as much but can handle them. This version of the firebird is more trail friendly than the previous versions but i think can handle bigger hits
That’s how everyone should do ads. Great video!
pretty sure he’s riding a small, as a medium would be pretty big for his height
I like the KTM in the background 👍👍
You got me hooked, bruv!! Love the intel - looking at big hill bikes now for Beech Mountain - time to expand from my DJ - all suggestions are welcomed 👊
LMNT FTW. Just got my jumbo case and JEFF sample pack.
Thank you Anthony! I've been digging their stuff!
it would be great to involve Logan in more bike reviews, maybe you can review more bikes or compare a few bikes in 1 video. Great content! You need to improve your camera skills!! The color name is Glaciar Green Metallic, awesome color.
Can’t wait for the full review on this bike. Are those Yoshimura flats?
Is that Mohawk Jump line during your intro for the Firebird? Love the place. IT is my annual vacation visit to Galbraith.
Your past videos pretty much motivated me to visit Bellingham, also, my relatives live literally 3 blocks away form Oriental Express trail exit ponit.
I say metallic grey color.
Lets see Logan ride!!!
Logan shreds! Thanks Ron!
Hey jeff. I love to watch these review videos. I do have a request. Are you able to review the yt jeffsy or capra? Im very torn which one to buy for myself. Also if you find yourself in the interior BC let me know I can show you some of the trails here.
Dude sick video! We need to see you on a transition!!!!
Agreed! Hopefully soon, the brand I was talking to about a bike for July suddenly went quiet, we'll see what shakes.
Pivot best bikes in the world. I love my M6
I’d like to see what you feel about size on some trails. Great review as alwsys
Grey!!!
Looks similar to Honda's titanium colour.
I think the colour looks like " gun metal grey" 👌
Please try it on the single trail to see how nimble and playful really is.
I’m 5’6” and I want a bike that help me avoiding mistakes due the lack of some skills that I’m yet to mastered, but I also want plushness for my back in the landings.
How does this thing ride compared to the new niner wfo. I just got mine and Its a well balanced machine, climbs well, descends well and feels great jumping. Always look for new incite and comparisons on bikes.
You should consider reviewing the bigger brother to the Orbea occam, the Orbea rallon
Case Logic. Lol I am old enough for that one.
This video gets a like just for the line "Looking good and feeling good", yeah dude!
Woo, nice!
My philosophy is that you can drop any brand new parts, if they're meant to go on a mountain bike then they can hit the shop floor
Hey Jeff, it’s weird the Enduro S wheel spokes have broken for me on many occasions. I had to sent it back to i9 so they can fix the the constant spokes snapping. They snapped more than 4x.
Digging the beard Jeff
Fun video Jeff! That color is green to me. I take it the bike size was medium for this test, right?
Yes, size medium, as always! Thanks Jeff
greenish gray
Any early thoughts compared to the Altitude which you liked so much?
Chris makes good bikes
The beard is looking good.
YEW!
Any tip on how to bed in my xt’s. My front brake is not grabbing what so ever 250 km into riding this new bike. It’s rideable and stops but not what I’d expect from a 4 piston high end brake.
It's Millenium Jade!
Saw one on trail yesterday…still confused on the exact color haha
MORE LOGAN LESS JEFF (just kidding) keep up the good work you two
I have this bike, I’m still not sure on the colour! Going with light moss 😄. Agree with the sizing - I’m 188cm, XL feels great to me, Pivot puts me at an L.
Yeah. I thought it might be big, but it rides pretty normal.
@@JeffKendallWeed what size did you ride ?? I’m 180cm and quite often between a M - L but prefer the poppy / playfulness of a M ! Also what was the Mondraker size you rode🤔
Great review by the way 👍🤟
is that super good bike
you should do a test of the scor 4060 if you can get your hands onto one I would like to have a pros view on the bike as its quite interresting i think
Never heard of that!
@@JeffKendallWeed Im not sure but i think its like the "enduro" / "agressiv" part oft bmc. Could be wrong but its from Switzerland
@@Radln_Jeden_Tag yep, part of bmc. I believe it was on pinkbike’s field test last year or before.
I was looking for your I9 Hydra video and can't seem to find it.
any long term review with more single track impressions ? thanks
I dropped a hammer on my X2 Factory shock's Kashima stanchion :(
... luckily it is the very end of the travel and it is a tiny mark .... so no leaks or anything
I love element .... but hey killed the Choco-menta flavour :( ... that was my favourite one ...
oh no! Sorry for your poor shock!!!
Please review a 2022 Giant Trance X 27.5.
Will you be reviewing this bike on non smooth natural trails?
During the video, you and Logan said the Pivot felt active on the climb, similar to the Evil, except there is less blow through. Does that mean less pedal bob? Would a coil vs airshock make a difference? Or is that with a coil on the Evil too? Curious to hear what is the better climber?
None of these bikes have pedal bob, just different traits to how much the suspension will compress per each type of impact. The Pivot pedals great, but it's still a big bike. I generally prefer air shocks, and just got one here for the Firebird.
@@JeffKendallWeed thanks for the reply. Looking at the Pivot, it has a lot more travel then the Offering (an equally comparable bike from Evil would be the Wreckoning), but with a DW linkage system also. I’m definitely interested in their bikes and appreciate the review!
Green? Grey? Pewter!
I very nearly dropped my new frame the day after it arrived (a few days ago)
that looked like a lobster mushroom. If it was, they're tasty!
Owned this bike for few months, cable routing is not the best, cable rattle was driving me nuts.
Bike felt great in the air but not so good on loose socal dirt.
What bike feels good on loose dirt? Check your tire pressure?
@@jtsblocks My previous sb150 and my current Enduro. For how long have you owned the Firebird Joey?
LOL “you’re holding a lot of CD’s in your Case Logic”
I had to explain it to him, but Logan is somehow old enough to have seen CDs. At least when he was in elementary school!
totally stealing this. So funny!
This got me laughing pretty hard!
Let's call the color Sage.
I think it’s greyish green or greenish grey
Ripmo still the way to go...
How does this compare to the knolly you bought?
What trail and area is this? obviously pnw but where!?
Why are they still using pressfit BB.
The hub sounds like its cutting through steel
Most of you don't now him but Rest in Peace Technoblade, you legend
What is Logan’s regular ride? Just for perspective…
Tallboy…
I believe you didn’t mention the size of the Pivot Firebird. Can you let us know what size is it? Thanks!
Also curious. At Jeff's height he's on a cusp of a small and medium.
"Medium" says another comment by Jeff
@@Happy_Biker Thank you!
I’d love a video on the electric mini moto
Hahaha maybe! I mounted up an old Fox DHX RC4 coil rear shock to it, and got some better bars on there. Trying to source a new speed controller, which should bump the power up from ~1600 watts to about double that.
@@JeffKendallWeed see now that just sounds like a video
@@JeffKendallWeed what kind of bike is it? An Oset?
the only thing i dont like is that there is a pressfit bb
Logan reminds me of Jackson goldstone lol
Does this bike have a kickstand?
My 240mm dropper fits slammed in the frame
Xt brake pads noise hmm never heard it
Glad u liked it. Vital mtb kinda shit on this bike
Really?! I didn't know they even reviewed it. I like it, feels like a RipMore.
@@JeffKendallWeed Cool, I'm looking for a little more Rip without sacrificing too much on the climb, is this it? Or should I wait for Rip 3?
