Serves approx. 2 to 2.5 serving Ingredients --------------- 500 gm Palak / Spinach (Chopped) 200 gm Methi (Chopped ) 2 Green chilli cut 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder 1 tsp Red chilli powder ( I used 1.5 tsp chilli powder ) 1.5 tsp Salt 1 cup water 1/2 tsp garam Masala For Aalan 3 Tablespoon (Tbsp) Makke ka atta ( you can use Besan / Bajara atta instead ) [ Dilute this with 1/2 to 1 cup water ] For Tadka ----------- 2-3 Tsp Ghee or oil 1/2 tsp jeera 2 -3 pinch Hing 7-8 garlic cloves chopped 1 Dry Red Chili ( Sabut mirch) High Level Instruction ----------------------------- In Cooker ------------ 500 gm Palak / Spinach (Chopped) 200 gm Methi (Chopped ) 2 Green chilli cut 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder 1 tsp chilli powder ( I used 1.5 tsp chilli powder ) 1.5 tsp salt 1 cup water Put the above in Pressure cooker Cook for 2 whistle at medium heat --------After opening Cooker----- Once its safe to open pressure cooker Mash the palak for 3-4 minutes using a laddle ------adding Aalan ---- Put cooker without lid back on stove at High Flame/heat Add diluted Makke ka atta keep stirring till the content inside the cooker starts to Boil Then close the lid loosely and cook for 4-5 minutes on Low-Medium flame / heat stirring ocassionally ------After Garam Masala---- After 4-5 minutes add 1/2 tsp garam Masala and mix well switch off Gas/stove For Tadka ----------------- Heat 2-3 Tsp Ghee or oil at low flame Once ghee is hot add 1/2 tsp jeera + 2 -3 pinch Hing heat for few seconds add 7-8 garlic cloves chopped - fry till golden brown add 1 Dry Red Chili ( Sabut mirch) switch off Gas - fry dry red chilli for few seconds Add Tadka to Palak dish Cover the cooker lid and leave for few seconds ( if you have placed the tadka pan inside the cooker ) Then cover the lid properly and leave for 2-3 minute Now you are ready to serve
After leaving Mumbai years ago I never got to taste Palak ka Saag, and for years I was craving for it. Today I was finally able to make it myself thanks to your recipe and it turned out tasty & yummy in the first attempt itself . Put the above in Pressure cooker
Cook for 2 whistle at medium heat
--------After opening Cooker-----
Once its safe to open pressure cooker
Mash the palak for 3-4 minutes using a laddle
------adding Aalan ----
Put cooker without lid back on stove at High Flame/heat
Add diluted Makke ka atta
keep stirring till the content inside the cooker starts to Boil
Then close the lid loosely and cook for 4-5 minutes on Low-Medium flame / heat stirring ocassionally
------After Garam Masala----
After 4-5 minutes add 1/2 tsp garam Masala and mix well
switch off Gas/stove
For Tadka
-----------------
Heat
2-3 Tsp Ghee or oil at low flame
Once ghee is hot add 1/2 tsp jeera + 2 -3 pinch Hing
heat for few seconds
add 7-8 garlic cloves chopped - fry till golden brown
add 1 Dry Red Chili ( Sabut mirch)
switch off Gas - fry dry red chilli for few seconds
Add Tadka to Palak dish
Cover the cooker lid and leave for few seconds ( if you have placed the tadka pan inside the cooker )
Then cover the lid properly and leave for 2-3 minute
Now you are ready to serve
