  • Three Thousand Years of Longing - Tilda Swinton, Idris Elba and George Miller Official Interview
Directed by George Miller and starring Tilda Swinton, Idris Elba, Pia Thunderbolt, Berk Ozturk, Anthony Moisset, Alyla Browne, Peter Bertoni....
Dr Alithea Binnie (Tilda Swinton) is an academic - content with life and a creature of reason. While in Istanbul attending a conference, she happens to encounter a Djinn (Idris Elba) who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. This presents two problems. First, she doubts that he is real and second, because she is a scholar of story and mythology, she knows all the cautionary tales of wishes gone wrong. The Djinn pleads his case by telling her fantastical stories of his past. Eventually she is beguiled and makes a wish that surprises them both.

Went to the screening. This movie was gorgeous. It’s made to watch in the theaters. The colors, the stories, the lessons I just can’t get over it. I love this movie so much

I watched it last night and will watch it again. It's deeper and more lush and thoughtful than some are ready for. It's quite good.

Great story.I love it. Particularly the location: Istanbul. And the texts. And design all over. Some pictures remind me heavily of Amelie. Love that, too. And! It is so far away from our modern narcissistic world. Cannot even explain why I love it. And that is part of the magic.

I completely loved this beautiful tale! How could it not be wonderful, with these amazing actors.
I fully enjoyed watching it.❤️ Such beautiful twists, that included global and historic beauties.
I was shocked to see such untold truths, of the lives of women. The dialogue alone was meaningful and the actors made it magical!
This movie could have been called, “What Women Want” or “How to Really Love a Woman”.
    Magnificent! ❤️

@4:02 "The romantic idea of love that we've been sold for so long is that people become one. And these two never become one."
How delusional and misguiding! This is not an "idea that we've been sold," it is rather the truth we've been told by the one who created us.
Genesis 2:24 -For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, And be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
Mark 10:8 - and the two shall become one flesh; so they are no longer two, but one flesh.

Being a willing host for serpents gets you perks, well, at least until the Son of Man comes anyway. I mean, just look at these 3. “Celebrity status 101”……pity
