- Embarkation day for our Japan cruise on the MSC Bellissima has finally arrived. However, we have the morning in Yokohama so in order not to waste it we head over to the Pignic Cafe to spend some time with the cute little piggies.
Thanks to the MSC Loyalty matching scheme, getting on the ship was a breeze but we were not prepared for what we were about to experience. The MSC Bellissima is possibly one of the best ships we have ever cruised on.
Join us for our piggy experience and embarkation day for our MSC Bellissima Japan cruise embarkation day.

Brilliant video! Always informative and entertaining! I'm going to 'cruise' my way through this lovey Sunday watching the rest of them. 😊
Thanks Danielle. Hope you had a great Sunday :-)
Great video guys. We'd love to visit Japan and going on a cruise from there is a bonus! Oh those little piggies, gorgeous. Glad you finally got to the ship! The ship looks stunning, nice move having a drink first! We really like the look of the show. Cheers for sharing this great video 🍻
nice to meet you. We boarded the same boat on the same trip.
The person wearing glasses and a tropical shirt at 31:40 is me.
No, would you recognize MSC CRUISE's PSY?
After the trip, I was looking for various videos, and I was glad to see a video of the cruise we took together.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Lots of laughs! Thanks for taking us with you. 🥳😂
The party area reminded me of Fremont Street, Downtown, Las Vegas. So much fun!
Thanks Anne.
Thanks for taking us with you on your cruise embarkation.
Thank you.
I smiled and laughed the whole way through this video. Thank you . Oh and waved at the end😂
I just loved the hsppy little piggies, how absolutely gorgeous!
That over head screen was amazing, I think I'm going to love "travelling "on your cruise with you both🎉
Thank you. I was a fantastic cruise. We will definitely try to get on that ship again sometime.
Thanks for sharing! I love the trip and the ship looks.amazing.
I am wondering how did you get diamond membership by going in different cruise lines? And how many cruises do we need to go before the membership? Or anyweb site i can look at the info?
Great review, look forward to the next one.
Thank you.
Looks like you are going to have a wonderful cruise. Your excitement is contagious. 💜
We had an absolute ball. Loved every minute of it.
Wow what a fantastic first day on board 🎉 is the ship much bigger than rc quauntam ? Looks humongous 😮keen to see your room and around ship! Looking forward to the updates…thank you for sharing your holiday with us🫶 take care and ENJOY 🎉❤
They are actually a similar size physically although Bellissima is about 30m shorter in length. When we first got on the ship it felt huge but you get used to is and I would say it probably felt about the same. Where we did notice the size was walking from cabin to restaurants which was almost the entire length of the ship - around 300m. Got our step count up though LOL :-)
Oh my goodness those piglets are just gorgeous. 💜
They were very cute.
I am so glad that I found this review because it brings back many happy memories of when my wife and I did the exact same cruise on the MSC Bellisima between 01/07 and 08/07/24
We absolutely loved the whole experience - right the way from the food and drink to the entertainment, the excursions and brilliant staff at the various bars . A truly tremendous holiday!
I look forward to seeing the next episode, as it will allow me to believe that I am still on that magical trip.
If you get a chance, visit the Masters of the Sea bar on deck seven and listen to Howard sing. His voice is fabulous. Tell him Paul and Frances from Scotland still remember him, especially since he learned and then sang, our wedding song to us.
Also, highly recommended is the Atmosphere Bar on deck sixteen aft at sunset and during sail aways and the Infinity Bar on deck five where you will hopefully meet two brilliant barman from Bali. I can’t even pronounce their names let along spell them but they will hopefully remember us too, especially seeing as we were the only Scottish folk on the ship and my wife walked with walking sticks 😊
Have fun guys ❤️ WE DID !
Hi Paul and Frances. We're actually home now but we did visit the Master of the Seas and the other bars you mention. We had seen a few people who were not impressed with MSC but we always go with an open mind and could not fault anything. We think that this might be our new favourite cruise line and are waiting for the future dates to be released so that we can see if anything fits for us to go back again.
Lots of Fun Enjoy
Hope you are having the best time! :)
Had a brilliant time Michael. Home now but it was a fantastic trip.
Piggies are sooooo cute
“Cruises”is the time to pig-out
Food Glorious Food - makes life great !
❤️✨❤️ ✨ you and Robert
Ha ha. Love the comparison. Ali was right though. We went out for dinner with friends last night and where I would normally have had the pork ribs rack I ordered something else instead.
Did a Princess cruise out of Yokohama last September, and totally agree that spending time in Yokohama is well worth while. From the Noodle Cup Museum to Chinatown to a game of baseball, there was so much to do and a great city for walking. Heading back October 2025 for Discovery Princess cruise Yokohama to Singapore. Sakuragicho Bay area is our favourite.
We will definitely be looking to get back there again, hopefully on another MSC cruise.
Loved this video and if you want a fun non stop party here in oz do a music cruise called Rock The Boat or as I’m doing this year Flashback , number 9 for me they are magical 🛳️
We have looked at Rock the Boat. It's quite pricey but didn't fit our schedule for this year. We have been on a couple of P&O 80s though and they were pretty full on party.
Is that breakky for just you guys or is someone else going to join you? That's soooo much food hehe
Just for us Deb. Because it was embarkation day we didn't know what the situation with lunch was going to be. If we had had to wait in the queue at check in we would probably have missed it altogether. As it happens we just got something light from the buffet.
Gday bloke and blokette, would be interested in seeing a cost breakdown of this trip....Im trying to convince SWMBO ( She Who Must Be Obeyed) of doing a Japan cruise. Ive been to Sasebo, Tokyo Nagasaki and Omninato on Grey Funnel lines( aka RAN or Royal Australian Navy) and had a ball. So we are watching this trip and planning what we would do.😊
Hi Michael. Roughly it cost around AU$2400 for the 6 night cruise including drinks packages and AU$250 OBC. Flights were AU$300 from Brissie to Tokyo with 50,000 Qantas points and just over AU$1000 from Taipei to Brissie on Singapore. These costs were for the 2 of us. Hotel in Yokohama for 2 nights was around AU$500. Train from airport in Tokyo to Yokohama was approx. AU$80 for the 2 of us and taxi from Keelung to Taipei airport was approx. AU$100. Hope that helps.
Excellent thanks mate. BTW hit your website the other day to look at P&O menus. Nice layout and easy to navigate…well done.
What month did you go?
Are you going to show us your cabin?
Cabin tour up now Stephen.
We have an MSC cruise around Greece in September. Which loyalty program should I use for the status match? I am Platinum on RC and Princess and lifetime Gold with Qantas.
Hi Neil. I think that the Platinum on Princess will top the RC one but not sure about the Qantas. We called them and found them to be really helpful. I would suggest that's your best bet as you wouldn't want to miss out on a level.
Thanks Rob, I checked RC and I'm actually Emerald which aligns with Gold on MSC, so I think that will be the way to go.
So which criusie line did you use to get diamond? we are platinum with princess..
I think we used Princess Sarah as we are Elite with them.
Hi from Cairns 🌷
Hi to Cairns. Haven't been up that way in a while but Matt from Deb and Matt and I (Rob) are coming up early next year for something that we haven't announced yet.
Why didn't you both get the match
The reason why Ali got Gold though and not Diamond was because we usually put the on-board account on my card and not Ali's. When we called MSC to see why Ali had only got gold they told us that the reason was that she doesn't spend as much on cruises. To be honest we were a little (by that read 'a lot') surprised that cruiselines exchange passenger spend information.
