- Welcome to KOH LANTA! Spend 48 hours with us here! We arrived late in the afternoon and the weather wasn't the best so we decided to eat at a nearby resort, sit in a tree house out at sea (AMAZING) and spend the evening relaxing! We did cut our time here short due to the incoming storm and weather however that did not mean that we explored any less! In our opinion renting a bike and being out all day is one of the best things you can do providing it doesn't rain, we were lucky with the sun shining we were able to explore this gorgeous island and try some amazing Thai food!

Thank you for sharing this great video about Koh Lanta! I’ve been living here for a few years now and I think that this island could easily be one of the best in Thailand. Unfortunately COVID hit us hard, it was very sad seeing most places empty and deteriorating over time. We all hope that Lanta will be soon back on it’s feet, we recently started a UA-cam channel to shed more light on this untouched little paradise. Love your videos, big hug from Robbie and Pop! 🇹🇭❤️

Is it really bad in August?
We absolutely loved Koh Lanta! The people are so friendly and the island so easy to travel around. It was sad to see so many places affected so badly through covid but it will bounce back I am sure! Defo one of our favourite places we have visited so far in Thailand and we did so much!

This is a Great island to visit. We went there 5 years ago and really enjoyed it. The scuba diving was amazing., the people were friendly and there’s lots of places to explore. We are going again this November. I think for you the problem you had was visiting out of season and of course the island is still recovering from the covid pandemic.
Been to Koh Lanta many times, so much to explore its a beautiful diverse island, beautiful beaches and jungle. Easy to drive around the whole island and so much to see.

I think it's good to show both the positives and negatives while traveling. It is a sad sight to see that so many businesses have suffered during all the corona madness- but I think it's also a good opportunity to encourage others to start traveling again. The only way all of these businesses will thrive again is when tourism picks back up.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who prefers an honest opinion, rather than shying away from the full truth. Don't be afraid to tell it like it is! 😃

Nice seeing you hopping around exploring with a very long beach Koh Lanta. A very nice beach so far to spend your time to stress out. But just wondering why no one's around at the beach swimming not even you why you guys not swimming. But that's absolutely a paradise for real, another hidden gem from the land of Thai.😁😁👍

When I did my 3rd of the 4 Thailand trips in 2018, I stayed in Ao Nang for 5 nights, then 3 nights in Koh Phi Phi Don, then only 1 night in Koh Lanta and then 3 nights in Koh Lipe so I didn't explore much of Koh Lanta but whatever I have seen there was nice

I’m not hating but Koh Lanta is not abandoned bc I live in Thailand and I am in Koh Lanta right now it’s just that not many people don’t really like to come a lot of Germans like to come tho and also I want to say if the water is going low fast it doesn’t mean there is a tsunami it’s just like that.

I stayed on koh lanta for 4 Nights. It rained allmost non stop 😩 but what we saw, was really nice.

We will be visiting koh lanta in november. No more rainy season, so hopefully we can lay down on the beautiful beaches. It looks great on the video! Where did you book the transfer from krabi to koh lanta. We will be staying in ao nang and from there will go to koh lanta. Did you book it in advance or just a day before? Looking forward to new video's. Best regards !
Hi Jenny, we booked our transfer with the same company we booked Phuket to Ao Nang, but there are transfer booths where you can book all of your transfers, would recommend booking a few days in advance as it will be sightly busier! Have a great time!

I went to Koh Lanta last month, in August 2022. Big mistake. Full-on rainy season, so, lots of rain. Then, the waves were massive, making it difficult to swim in ocean, and of course trash everywhere on beaches. Due to the turbidity of the water, no "post card" blue water and white sand. Also, apart from local restaurants and the Lighthouse national park, and I guess "Old Lanta Town" (which took 3 hours to see, with lunch), there really is no reason to go to Koh Lanta.
Afterward, went to Koh Lipe, and had a great time. "Post card" beach and waters.
Really! That’s crazy! We were therein July weather was on the turn but couldn’t get to Lipe! Glad you had good weather for Lipe!

Hi Karen, we'd recommend looking at the Thai website, ours is a very small drone so requirements were different :)

You should really go for seafood in those parts… as you travel up north you’ll be having lots of meat. I’d recommend checking out Mark Weins for a food guide
We don’t eat sea food which is such a shame! Matts only just started liking deep fried prawns here in Thailand!

i'm back there 27th December, ko lanta is my favorite place, I've been going every year for the last 7 years excluding the last two years. No built up building, pure hippie trail, call for prey across the morning air(krabi is a muslin province in Thailand. You should head back to ao nang after and check out Klong Muang Beach.
Go up the road from there and you'll find a Rasta man who has build a bar on top of the hill over looking the ocean. In the middle of the bar is a tree where you can nail your own wooden message to future visitors lol. He will also sell ya a bit of hash/weed.
That bar you are in, i've been to on many occasions,they will also sell ya some hash/weed lol. The steps leading to it are serious steep lol.

Hello Matt, and your gorgeous girlfriend. That is one place on my bucket list next year. Koh Lanta. The place you are staying. The scenery is magnificent. I got an email from a friend that lives in Koh Lanta. She is from Holland married to a Thai guy, with 2 gorgeous kids, girl and boy. They live right on the beach. Her you tube channel is called, "Sweet life Lanta." The house is named Wooda House, plus they have a few villa's called Green Pepper. A great couple. Then there is another couple. She is from Sweden, and he is a fisherman from Phi Phi Island. Then in Koh Samui there is another beautiful couple Lilly expat life. She is married to a Thai guy, and she has 3 gorgeous kids. So next year I would like to see all the 3 beautiful couples and their kids. I hope I will be able to fulfill my dream. I am not short of the dollars. Living on a farm to find the right people to look after my place could be a problem. What worries me more is, I have over 200 Koi Fish in my ponds, and there is big dollars over there. To find somebody that I can trust, and to do the right thing. Could be a problem. Never mind, I will take each day as it comes. Take care, stay safe and God Bless.
