I was there in the mid 80's . I was wanting to try buy some land. Local village headman wanted to send his daughter to a good school. I couldn't own the land so didn't commit . Too many obstacles including the local religion. No hotels to speak and certainly not many bars in those days! Beautiful part of the world!
Sounds unreal! It was nice to have the island to ourself to be honest!
I will be here in March. I can't wait to get out of Canada and away from big city life

Is KO lanta still worth visiting in July and generally is it bless to drive a scooter without a motorbike compatible idp
July is rainy season so it’ll be a bit hit and miss. Will generally chuck it down for an hour and then be sunny the rest of the day so not too bad. Driving a scooter without a licence will be fine, didn’t see a police officer on the island tbh
