Love your podcast! I am from New England and I always remember snipits from the news on the Patriarca crime family from the 80’s and on. It’s so interesting to hear the mob stories from way before I was born. Patriarca would make for a great tv mini series or Netflix documentary
Great episode, ladies, although it is hard to imagine Carlo Gambino having anything to do with Jack. Also, Jerry Angiulo must have wanted to explode in anger when he was scooped up after the V.a. heist and during Jack's testimony. So did phil Cresta have connections to the Outfit in Chicago? Why did Jack and Richie dislike Phil Cresta
I know Jack was very skilled, don't get me wrong, but can you imagine being Carlo Gambino, a legend among legends, a life of crime second to none , finally in cuffs from some random armed robber? It's almost humorous. Gambino had international contacts numerous murder orders ext he's a living legend who they could never even charge! U know the old man must've been pissed
Out of all of the stories that one in the most fantastical of them all. I assume Jack and most likely took my father's connection to Butchy and stretched that more than a little 😂
Sounds like your dad was pretty tight with Jack. Jack could've been out of a Conan Doyle novel as he was a master villain. I can wait for your episode with biographies, but I had a couple of questions you might consider answering in that episode. Was Jack a vet? Was he from Nova Scotia? Had he carried out hits? Again, you've hit a homer.
Thank you as always! Dad and Jack were attached at the hip for 7 years. Jack was mastermind, mentor and drill sergeant to his crew. Jack never served. He supposedly had a back injury. He was from Watertown, MA. Both of his parents were from Ireland, and like many Irish and Scotts-Irish his mom's relatives were living in Nova Scotia. He got into trouble in his teens and his mom sent him there to calm down. It's only based on hearsay, but I do believe that he participated in the hit on Bobby Rasmussen along with Pro and my father.
I gotta wonder what Jack would have said if he could have looked 50 years into the future and seen us all carrying Samsung or Apple "gimmicks" that track our every movement!!

Thank you very much! We couldn't agree more. Hopefully when we manage to get our book published, Netflix will come knocking 😊

Did whitey Bulger have a job as a custodian at the state house at that same time?
That's a good question. I'll have to ask someone who might know. I'll keep you posted.
I think he worked at the Suffolk Courthouse.

I doubt he would have been surprised except for the fact that we willingly tether ourselves to them!
