As obnoxious as the games writing can be, the portrayal of Ryu is pretty on point. He knew from their first encounter that Yaiba can put up a good fight, saw that his opponent is back from the dead with some upgrades, and responded by unleashing a few powerful attacks to end the battle quickly. Efficient, focused, and recognized a tough opponent and reacted accordingly.
What sucks is we probably won't see Yaiba again. The game was awful compared to Ninja Gaiden, but Yaiba was a cool character. He contrasts really well with Ryu's calm and collected demeanor. Basically a reverse Dante and Vergil. It would be interesting to see their relationship develop, and maybe seeing Yaiba go on a journey to get stronger to truly face Ryu as an equal.
Nur Irwan We all know that he would have stayed dead when Ryu sliced him in half but they only did this that way the game wouldn't end so short. Ryu might be the strongest ninja ever and the best, but he can't beat everyone. There will always be someone stronger than you and I like it that way. Obviously that someone isn't Yaiba since he was killed twice by Ryu but if he was too overpowered then It would be boring and stupid. It's so more relatable and understanding when your character struggles and fights regardless even if he knows he's out matched. That's why I don't like heroes like superman who are invincible or only have one weakness when humans, like us, have many. Making their story, morals, and character all the more interesting if they are flawed like us.
Nur Irwan it was the best of magic against the best of science yaiba didn't even think it'd work I wouldn't put too much merit in that Ryu is still his superior he has a ton of techniques where as Yaiba just exerts himself and now has his cyborg implants as a crutch
Well...Rock Lee, Ryu can do the primary lotus better then you with no eight gates...then again, he is practically Dovahkin since he carries Dragon blood...so unfair comparison.
I've always wondered if that dragon is just fire formed as a dragon ( like a fire bender) or Hayabusa actually turned into a fire dragon!!?? It's never really clear, but super badass either way!!
That izuna drop was so overly dramatic that it caused a nuke explosion. Sucks this is technically the last Ninja Gaiden game. Loved Ghost of Tsushima, will NOT play Sekiro, might get Mark of the Ninja on PS5 since I didn't finish it on XB360, but Ninja Gaiden was dope (when I had a strategy guide to find all the weapons and level them up).
Hot take: this was far better than DmC Devil may Cry This may have been awful but at least you could tell the developers were somewhat confident in this concept Yaiba is not likable at the least but at least the voice actor is committed to this foul mouthed crude Cyborg Ninja and that enthusiasm makes the character somewhat enjoyable especially compared to Ryu’s usual lack of character In comparison to Donte’s personality which on it’s own was just an obnoxious twat and in comparison to Dante was infinitely weaker
Voice actor for yaiba is underrated...I love that chuckle and his thirst for action attitude

man that izuna drop was just awesome.

Hopefully he's a boss in NG4
I thought the game was amazing, also i don't think Yaiba can beat Ryu, without technological enhancements, since he can't really use magic.
Why do people call the game awful, Man, I played the game and this game is just so fun to play, 10/10.
@@elveeleven2574in comparing with original games, its a 4/10
@@kratodns9777 10/10 for me
He punched the Great Dragon. Thats how underpowered Ryu became in this game.
lolz so ryu still better at combat

Ryu wasn't even being serious in the game because he's too preoccupied with with other things.
Ryu kills yaiba like 3 times in the Game. He just resurrects thanks to his enhancements. He doesnt Even fight that seriously with him.
When I first played this and I saw Ryu initiate that iconic move on me, all I could say was "No way! WHAT AN HONOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!!!"
Now that is a f ing Izuna Drop
Yaiba's outfit makes him resemble 80s Hayabusa.
that's a big ass Izuna Drop explosion!
Bigger than rock lee's if you know about him in naruto.
hyabusa just opened the seventh gate on yaiba ass
if yaiba had three bars of health, it would be gone due to ryu's Izuna drop.
The funny thing is he ends up saving hyabusa
Oh nah, Ultimate Ninja Ryu hayabusa is just the definition of cool period!
Lol aint no way in hell he shoulda survived that..plot is a wonderful thing
yes it is, otherwise, fiction would be as boring as reality.
He didnt survive the izuna drop. They just resurrected him with his enhancements.
He didn't. Ryu killed him He was just brought back because he's a cyborg
izuna nuke confirmed
ULTRA MEGA SUPER ULTIMATE! IZUNE DROP!
Kruger Pooly I'm surprised his head didn't split open like the games...but man was that the most badass Izune Drop!!!!
Amanda Anaya nah brah it's yaiba remember his like a ninja cockroach can survive almost anything
Well...Rock Lee, Ryu can do the primary lotus better then you with no eight gates...then again, he is practically Dovahkin since he carries Dragon blood...so unfair comparison.
*Atomic Izuna Drop*
That fuck yeah and evil laughter was probably the most badass part of the game....wish they cleaned up the game a bit more
The only good thing about this game was that mega Izuna Drop 😂
I've always wondered if that dragon is just fire formed as a dragon ( like a fire bender) or Hayabusa actually turned into a fire dragon!!?? It's never really clear, but super badass either way!!
Ryu becomes a fucking fire dragon
I mean, in ninja gaiden 2 Ryu can do a mini black hole so...
@@hugoangel6755 Don't forget when he turned into a bird in black.
In ninja gaiden 3 he falls from the sky after the dragon rises up. So it seems he is the dragon itself
Personally, i like yaiba more than hayabusa, the man have such an incredible charisma and his dialogues are so funny

The Legendary Izuna Drop/Izuna Otoshi
awesome :D never fuck with Ryu Hayabusa!
Fuck you Ryu!
Yaiba Kamikaze lol
yes hehehe
Yaiba Kamikaze hahahah u mad bro? :)
i agree with you
Ryu Hayabusa is the best. I don't know why he Marvel didn't create him instead of Team Ninja.
because marvel sucks, lol.
But technically Tecmo made Ryu Hayabusa, not Team Ninja. He's existed since the NES days.
Fuck Marvel, nobody wants that Disney Shit on Hayabusa.
Damn dat izuna drop tho so awesome asf
Best “fuck yeeeeeaaaah”
Im going to assume that Yaiba never beats Hayabusa in this game? o.o?
Guess again. Yaiba won.
O-o!?!?!?!? the ninja of all ninjas lost???? Fuuuuuck.....well someone had to do it lol xD.
@@Stinger20638 he didnt won, he just uses momji to blackmail hayabusa. And Even then he ends up helping Ryu.
Oh The Kids Eyes Green Lol Jackson
I like baker as Ryu
Kruger Pooly He's definitely the best and most fleshed out version of Ryu.
Omg yaiba has some anger issues
So that's what he did to Brandon.

This game is ok but nowhere near as good as DmC: Devil May Cry.
I just wanna know how he survived that
He didn't. she resurrected him. she says it in this video.
