Folding Table on Lagun Mount: Maximize Your Van Space
Вставка

- Trying to do it all with the Lagun Table leg is this weeks van build challenge. Creating a large table that folds into a small footprint to maximise our tiny living space.
The Lagun Table System seems to be 'The' choice for van conversions. But we had a dilemma; how can we have large table, a space saving small footprint and use it when our seats are swivelled - as well as in transit mode?

After our recent road trip we knew we needed a table to eat, work and play on. We also knew it needed to work in lots of different places.
This is another job checked off the list in our van conversion. We still have a fair few things to do between trips, but this should be a very useful addition.

Good job man. You should be proud of your work. I’m actually looking at your work from Prattville, Alabama. Good ole USA
Thank you, very kind of you to say. Blows our minds that people watch from all over the world. Hope you’re doing well over the pond. Thanks again
Fantastic table. You are clever Rich. Well done
Thanks Donny. Hope you’re well 🚐🚐🚐
That's a great design, loving the less wibbly wibbly device too :)
😂 it is all about reducing the wibbly wobbly
G’day all very well done and the area that it fits in, good to see you look after yourselves regards John
Hey John. Thank you. Hope you’re keeping well 🚐🚐🚐
Very clever use of space, love the leaf supports too, nice idea
Thank you Steven. It’s worked well for us and it’s lovely to hear some positive feedback. Take care
That table is brilliant. Lovely video as always. I think i have spent more time measuring and looking and re measuring on every little thing on this van build
😂 glad it’s not just us. I swear more time was spent looking at the space than doing the actual work on this project.
Excellent.
Nice to meet you today.
Make sure you take the 10min walk to Stoney Cove. Ask the Site Manager the way.. 👍🏻👍🏻👌👌
Maggie and Mack, Huddersfield

Great Table . well done .
Thank you 😊. Lily used it for sticker books and snacks this weekend x
Good job! Next you need to make the bus fold into a Lear Jet and get around quicker on the longer journeys :)
Haha. Don’t give us ideas 😂
Very nice table design 😊
Thanks guys.
Good multi use table
Thanks Dave 😊
Great design and perfect execution, an over all fantastic job, I'm with William though you need 2 support arms each side
Thanks Neil. We will keep you posted on it. But so far we’ve got a double thumbs up from Lily as a travel table 😊
@@WanderbusAdventures just an idea, what about making into a games table for Lily as well, chess, draughts, snakes and ladders, that type of game
This is a great idea and we have asked a friend with a laser etching machine if they’d be able to do this. If not freehand. But an amazing idea Neil.
Great. Wonder if you would share how the hinges were set in. I understand drawing around the hinge, but curious about the notch-out for the barrel on the hinge. Thanks.
No problem, so after drawing around them a flush router bit was used to carefully notch out the shape. Then went a bit deeper for the barrel part if that makes sense.
Love the table another job well done?
Thanks Raffireman 😊
Great table instead of 1 support maybe 2 each side,
Thanks William. We will put it to the test and report back.
Definitely Wiggly Wiggly Good.😂😂
It’s all about the wiggly wiggly 😂
Great design! I’m curious what router bit do you use for the hinges?
Thanks very much. I used a standard flush trim bit to do it. Very carefully. It’s not perfect but they look pretty good.
Now that’s what I call genius! Fab design and even better execution 😍😎👍🏻 Is it me or have you started using a mic for when you’re talking away from the camera? Or did you use this when you were away, only noticing it now 😂😂😂
Thanks Ian. We are pleased with it so far.
Mic - good spot. We have. We did use it for mainly voice over when we were away and have been using it for a few build videos. Have been trying to work on the sound and getting it leveled. But it’s a tricky thing 😂
@@WanderbusAdventures well it’s obviously noticeable and sounds fab 😎👍🏻
That’s good 😊. We got some neat little Rode wireless go mics. And they seem to work well.
Can you tell me the diameter of the short holding tube underneath the table platform? Thank you.
Hey sorry we’ve not got the van at the moment as we’ve had something go wrong with it. If you still need this let us know and we will measure it when we get the van back.
Wy you dont a turn driverseat aan the front ?
We did think about this. We wanted to turn the passenger seats instead so it makes more of a communal area with the sofa/kitchen. I tbink if we had a regular front seat arrangement we’d have swiveled both.
We also looked at the seat box for the drivers seat and when it swivels it would have been a bit higher than the passenger seats, so the table wouldn’t have worked as well in that position.
Hi where did you get the sliding leaf supports from I need the same
Hi Johathan, they were from Amazon amzn.to/3eVCKU2
Thank you very much I need them for similar idea on a boat table
@@jonathanfranklin2293 Ah brill, they do make a difference.
Smart way to fold the table ... But: with the "securing" latch on top of the small version you take away the usage as a small one-person table ... ( and please do NOT use the table infront of passengers while driving - (the lagun fasteners do not withstand the forces of a hard break maneuver nor even a light impact - really dangerous (ask me how I know)
Thanks Tom. The latch does reduce the usage a bit but we’ve found we can sit a laptop, colouring book etc on it still - so that’s good. The main consideration was keeping it from opening when being picked up or moved if that makes sense.
When you say fasteners do you mean the turn handles themselves? I’ve emailed Lagun to ask them about this, so thanks for pointing it out. They seem quite sturdy on the face of it, but we will take into consideration and ask the manufacturer about use in transit. Cheers for the heads up.
