I just discovered you. I'm a beginner and I'm completely inspired. I'm going to spend the afternoon covering paper with paint, practicing these skies. My husband is a musician, heard the music in the video and immediately searched for your music. Now it's playing in the background. So very peaceful. 😊
Well that was a pleasant way to spend a few minutes during my lunch hour! Thank you for putting this up Trevor - it is very much appreciated. Looking forward to part 2 and I shall have a go when I have finished painting the chickens on one of your SAA projects :)
Hi Trevor. I'm so excited to see there's another video from you . I live in Sydney Australia so through the magic of UA-cam I can have access to such great teaching. I have some of your books...but I seem to prefer a video. Thank you so much for your generous teaching. Chris
Hi Chris .. Hope these vids inspire ! ... That's what its all about ! Keep in touch here ; more to come on my channel ... I must just plug my latest book though, because I know it has just been published in Australia WOW :) here's the link : amzn.to/2XTeVTy
I am just starting, trevor...watching your video wants me to study...watercolor is tricky for me...i already have a set of windsor and Newton tube paints...i still have to learn what brushes to use...i will try doing some clouds...
Nice to see your approach, Trevor. I always have trouble visualizing the cloud shapes and from watching this it may be my order of laying down the washes. Also it will be helpful is you address how to select the right sky for the mood of the painting. I'll go practice this now!

Music website down at the moment ! but you can listen to a whole load of tracks there soon for FREE ...will post u when ready let me know if interested ?
Love your tutorials! Especially this landscape part 1 & 2!!! Please do more :) Also, question for you, when I wet down my paper it seems to start warping even though I have it taped down. And my paper seems to dry a lot faster than yours. What paper did you use in this video?
Great lesson! Thank you. I realy like your painting style and your music. Did you use any reference for this painting or just imagination? And do you recomend using a reference when attempting a sky painting?
Hi SveM Miky ! Thank You ... I don't recommend using any ref. for a sky ... it just prevents creativity.. but always draw specific reference for elements such as cows or buildings first...work from memory as often as possible though. T
Lovely demonstration Trevor. Just to clarify, you use the word "Damp" twice, at 3.36 and 5.07. Do you mean the paper should be just as damp on both occasions or is one damp damper than the other? And how do you define "Damp"? It's actually pretty crucial to get it right. Thanks.
Hi Trevor, your sky is wonderful! I love mixing dry and wet technique, because I love clouds with different edges (more sharp o fluffy) and I usually paint the sky first, then I work on the clouds. I will try wet on wet technique again. Thank you very much for your lesson
Yes...this question is asked frequently ! .... They were discontinued several years ago by Daler Rowney....Old school stacking pallets ...Unfortunately not in circulation anymore...Muffin tins are, in kitchen shops, they will double... There are six well, shallow ones around at most art suppliers..I use those as well. Hope this helps Elizabeth ! You can never have enough pallets ! :) T
Hello Trevor! I am new to watercolors and love this tutorial. I am, however, using watercolor brush pens and it's been difficult for me to adapt them to the techniques used to paint landscapes. Are you familiar in any way with this medium? I'm most interested in landscapes and I'm beginning to believe I've made a poor choice!
Trevor Waugh That’s what I thought!! Just bought some tube watercolors and brushes so I can follow along next time :-) Can’t wait to watch more of your videos!
Hello from Elgin, Illinois! I'm so thankful to have found your videos on UTube! You are so inspirational and talented. I aspire to paint loose and expressionistically like you do! Thank you for being so generous. Love your music!
Hi Sylvia ! ....I used to publish with a company called " Elgin Court " so there's some kind of connection there...hope you subscribed to my channel... and join me on Community for more info and comments about up coming videos and insider stuff !!! T

Where did you get the pallet with the deep wells for washes? I've not been able to find one like yours yet.

Hi Natalie...Yes that would be difficult, with brush pens. They're not designed to do what liquid washes can ! Thanks for watching ! T
Trevor Waugh That’s what I thought!! Just bought some tube watercolors and brushes so I can follow along next time :-) Can’t wait to watch more of your videos!
Ah ha ! that will do it Natalie ! Well done ! More videos coming soon !

Sorry Richard ...it's down at the moment ! changing my server etc, Will post about this later ...Maybe tomorrow ...Thanks T

It really looks like its all about the dampness of the paper, and getting the timing right.....I'll keep on trying
Yes to that... more water on the paper less water in the brush..and so on !
