An alternative to an elytra for seeing your builds is to use the freecam mod. I know a number of people like to use it for builds as it doesn't require you to be moving in air like when you are flying around.

2 ideas for later on. Firstly, turn the 100x100 hole into a dungeon for villagers/monsters. Secondly when you get to the nether, you can make a zombified pig farm.
So, about 16 minutes in, you mentioned the shulker and backpack situation. Got me thinking... This is a megabuild, most likely one of many.. Being a building myself, one of the most annoying things is to have to travel back and forth, left and right and some times even up and down to get materials. In a build this big, having to do this over... and over.. and over.. and over again, I feel like limiting your inventory in the long run would not really effect gameplay, if anything it would make it more.. 'Smooth?' so you are not breaking up your thought process because the you run out of blocks or something. I get the handicap idea, and If thats something you wish to do to yourself.. Im all for but out of all the things you could limit yourself on, Im thinking a level 1 backpacks worth of storage or even up do a diamond tier, would not effect the gameplay in a large scale aside from how much time your in one place at one time. Sorry for long and improper use of grammar and sentence structure.
Either way, I enjoy what you do and you play how you want to play. Ill support you

4:41 if you follow that idea you can use blue concrete/conc. powder/wool over the grass to give a feeling its reflecting the sky too
Also, you can use the empty walls' negative space and put multiple stairs and/or different entrances to the courtyards so that it becomes more flourished

1:50:30 just putting thoughts out there, and i have never read/seen beserk so i don’t entirely know what you are going for, but what about towers of varying heights in the corners? you could use them for more depth and create a bigger castle vibe. Also, for all the walls, try staggering the heights inward. So it would be 4 blocks, then 3, and 3, to create depth. Those are my suggestions. Love watching the videos, keep up the great work!

Hey Skyes- I had a recommendation for the backpack thing- “Sophisticated Backpacks” has an alternative mod called “Sophisticated Storage” where you can upgrade shulkers and chests to carry more
I think that a cool Minecraft update (or mod) could be backpacks, but they have shulker boxes in the crafting recipe! Like a shulker box surrounded by leather. You’d be able to wear it, and it would have some more storage than a regular shulker box. You’d be able to access it from your inventory.

1.21 won't come out until June or end of May at the earliest. You could just update the world to 1.20.6 and stay on that version. The downside is you won't have the trial chambers, the Mace, the new blocks/items and the new combat system.

Regarding "earning backpacks"...
Instead of earning a backpack by doing something somewhat easy that won't help you (such as sacrificing diamond blocks/shulker boxes), how about something difficult that *will* help you:
Give yourself the backpack for free, BUT only use it once you can fill it with obsidian. You keep the obsidian after, for future builds, and you really get to *earn* those extra inventory slots.

Minecraft's weather cycle is a little janked. It does seem to rain more than it should/more often. I think it'd be a fun update(for me, maybe this is totally boring) for them to have like different rain cycles for each biome. Rainforest rains more, little to no rain in warmer climates such as bandlands/acacia/desert, and maybe rain every 15-20 in game days for every other biome? They already have weather separation in the game(if it's raining and you go to a cold biome it changes to snow). Idk maybe that's a totally useless and boring update, it's just rain has been so weird lately and lots of different players/youtubers have complained about it.
If you had used moss instead of grass it would have been the same color all the way around.
Personally, I feel like handicapping yourself on the backpacks isn’t really necessary. But if you want to do it anyway, I liked what someone else said about making milestones that help you before unlocking backpacks, instead of sacrificing diamond blocks or something. Either way, the most important thing is that you enjoy playing the game. I enjoy videos like this most when the creator is having fun.

i found skyes because i accedently tapped on one of his videos (better minecraft 1) and i just never clicked off ever scince i hae been watching almost every day and i have seen every one of his videos. i love the fact that he talks during the video (yapping) rather than just talkig about he builds. his voice is also sooooooooo calming and i love that its not just a ringing tone in my ears whilst im watching. i ove doing things hwilst watching your videos and you have to be my favourite youtuber ever. i love your videos and thank you for the amazing content

Hey Skyes there is a mod called "Magnum Torch", it’s a giant torch that prevents hostile mobs or passive mobs from spawning depending on which touch you craft and it’s work in a giant radius and also gives light like you placed 50 torches. You should really check that mod…

Regarding the backpacks, you can change recipes for them to require a shulker box and more items, or putting 9 diamond blocks into the crafting table (one for each slot) also makes a backpack... idk, but there is a mod that allows you to do that if you want
I think it rains so much because you keep sleeping? It resets the weather cycle, but I'm not confident with that.

Is the music part of Minecraft or added in post? I'm curious because it sounds *so* much like the music in the coloring app I use to calm down when my autism's close to meltdown stage, and that's some of the most calming music for me. If it's added in post, may I ask what it is? And if so, I really hope it continues to get used, because despite Skyes' 'rambling', which should technically be chaotic, this is already one of the most relaxing episodes I've watched, and I'm only 15 mins in.
Also, if I may make a suggestion, if you're worried about backpacks being OP, what about the mod that allows multiple Ender Chests? That way you still have to craft them, and you have to have a base for each one, but it'd mean they're not overly cheap, not overly easy, and the amount you can use is limited by your carrying space and what you put in them. Plus, they could be linked up to the auto-sorter so that you can have one that has only dirt, and is constantly having dirt filtered into it, and one for only cobble and so on, meaning you could make it so you're *only* carrying what you need most, for the most part.
Also also, can confirm that the Hamachi/ LAN option works just fine, as that's how my friends and I used to play on the same world all the time, since we didn't live on the same continent. Hamachi just makes a virtual LAN, to which your friends connect, and then they use the IP to join the world. As long as Darman has the modpack installed, there shouldn't be any issues.

For the backpack thing where you use one whenever you craft an actual shulker box. Why not just use the shulker that you just crafted and not the backpack? Obviously its your world play however you want just thought that seemed redundant lol

I'd turn a blind eye to the fill biome command to make the grass look like the jungle grass to make it pop.. or just the normal plains grass,might need fact checking to see if it works though, orrrr moss is a solid plan but you'd have to replace all the dirt placed already 😬

Skyes doesn't know that the 1.20 thing with the villagers is something you can enable in experimental features and it isn't in worlds if its not enabled...

Idk why but I feel like on a Map the circles will look janky, I do spriting and thinking of circles doing a 3-1-4-2 or something is a no go
To help with the flatness of the walls, you could add a platform of dirt to make gardens/ different stalls or shops around the wall. You could make it all one y level, or break it up by having it different levels.
I believe the reason leaves are waterloggable now is bcuz its like that in bedrock and minecraft has been trying to have less and less parity between java and bedrock. Also u still can clutch on leaves u just have to crouch while doing it. Just practice clutching while crouching for a bit and eventually u will train ur brain enough to naturally do it
Funniest thing listening to you try and convince us to let you have a backpack and making deals with us to have it in my opinion this world is more like a free play so I say add anything you want have fun I’m interested in seeing your builds based on you having fun enjoy the builds keep going 👍
Maybe you can make the villagers free roam in the actual trading hall by making a border of sweetberries with carpet on top of it in the doorway so the villagers don’t escape, might look cool

why not just take make another stone cutter and storage area at the building site? also the "wings" seem a bit too big compared to the center circle. maybe increase the center circle by about 50%?

Yo skyes so instead of doing the auto sorter just to lag out the world, why install a storage mod like the ones in better mine craft and stuff. Also a good movie is grown ups.
You can actually use litematica to measure how many blocks there are, but due to the land not being flat under there, the wood, dirt, and leaves numbers may be more than what it actually is.
Why not add some chests at the build that you can store the blocks from the 100x100 dig so you don't have to go back and forth so much
Think you could gather materials from under the mega build. Getting it to a flat level, it might also make it easier to light up.
Pick the max number of back packs and throw the rest away doesn't matter where they come from. :D
I wish they would have made the halo show accurate to the lore I really love the games and I like the books and it was very disappointing what they did with the show

The new villager trading system is only an optional experimental feature, and as far as I know, there is no release date yet.

you should put stone cutter and double chest at least over at build you won’t have to go back to base so much or to make it easier put funaces at build to to cook stone
u should get the building gadget mod and charging gadget mod to help with your mega builds so u don't get burnt out of building
