MK7 GTI XForce Turbo-back Exhaust w/ Varex Muffler - PURE SOUND
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 чер 2021
- I haven’t seen many videos about this system for the MK7 GTI’s, so here’s one with the sound clips I would want to hear.
XForce turbo-back exhaust for my 2017 MK7 GTI
- 3” high-flow downpipe paired with 3” cat-back with Varex muffler
(the cat-back comes with a straight pipe and a resonator. I have the straight pipe installed for the extra sound. Yes it drones)
Owner notes & explanations:
The closed position isn’t meant to be driven at high rpms under load. That’s why you’ll hear that “airy” noise from the exhaust. It’s so quiet during regular driving though, it sounds quieter than stock in the cabin and not much louder from the outside. The 50% position sounds similar to the open position. The only difference is that it doesn’t drone on the highway or during regular driving. Full open has a deep, raspy tone and you can hear the turbo noises pretty well too.
-
This system that I have is the older one with the remote control (hold A for open & hold B for close). You could totally press either button multiple times to cycle through the valve positions for different volume levels (25% - 75%) but it’s hard to tell which position it’s in. The newer, updated version includes the bluetooth smartbox that let’s you control the exhaust from your phone. I think it comes with the remotes too, which is nice.
Mods:
- XForce downpipe
- XForce cat-back
- IE v2 cold air intake
- IE stage 2 high-torque ECU tune w/ TCU tune
- H&R springs
- rotiform RSE 18x8.5 +35mm
- aerofabb front splitter
- maxton design rear diffuser
- Oettinger style carbon fiber spoiler
- golf R style headlights
- some OBDeleven mods

subbed, exactly what I was looking for prior to going stage 2 this spring.
Thank god someone finally put a good video on this out! Much love man :)
Appreciate it brother!
Sounds excellent 👍🏼
This is beautiful. Love this setup. Much love 👍🏼
why thank you!
Great video! Thanks for it!
sounds awesome 👍
When exhaust are close is look live a tiger🔥💸
fantastic video bro!! I'm looking to replace my stock exhaust and wasn't sure which brand to go with.. but this video has sold me on the XForce! You should be getting a cut $$$ as XForce just made another sale because of this video!!
50% sounds 👌
Awesome video!
thank you!
It sounds so good 🥴
Thats goals
well done on the video man props
i appreciate it
@@nckgti7 what set up have u got im after some inspiration on doing mine 😊
setup for my ride??
@@nckgti7 what set up is that
i got the xforce TBE. running stage 2 by integrated engineering with their intake, inlet pipe, and intercooler. rs7 spark plugs and some aero mods
This channel gonna blow up
Great video Nick!
thank you!!
I had one on my MK6, the Mk7 sounds even better. Xforce is def underated a reputable brand.
si absolutely agree man. they make music
@@nckgti7 aye man, idk about dming but if you can I’ll send ya the mk6 with the blow off valve tuned by Stratfied it was beautiful
bro yea shoot me a dm with the vid i’d love to hear that
@@MatchboxMastahme too lol send it
Sold me at the 3rd pop 🥴
With it open it sounds a lot like my current exhaust. Which is a little too much for daily imo. I got one of these on sale from maperformance. Will have to install it. I have a resonated downpipe. Seems to be pretty much what I'm after.
@Timothy Strees it’s pretty loud open for daily driving. but the valves provide that option to choose which is super nice. sounds like the setup will be sick man
I wonder how LAPD likes ur now registration sign 😄
they love it XD
Sounds great! Hypothetically, would you say it’s quiet enough to DD valves closed with let’s say your non car enthusiast mother-in-law everyday?.. I need something valved thats loud and quiet (enough), this sounds exactly what I’m looking for. (Update: Got the exhaust installed with a CTS catted downpipe, it is PERFECT!)
it’s definitely quiet enough to DD! one thing to note is that because mine is no resonated at the moment, it still makes deep droning noises if you rev high, but for DD purposes, like you’re asking, it’s really incredible how quiet it is.
I don't even have the middle silencer installed and with the valve closed it sounds basically stock. Even with the valve open 100% it's not super loud unless you have a downpipe installed.
@@TheFlyingPLiner Just ordered it. I'm sold haha!
@@marlanefitz9974 nice, best bang for the buck exhaust imo.
do you have a gti?
How do you like the IE stage 2? Is it a big difference from stock? Nice exhaust by the way!
i love the tune!! it’s a huge difference from stock for sure. she’s in the 300 hp range, so not super crazy, but she rips
@@nckgti7 that’s awesome man. 300’s is the sweet spot👌
@Nathan Elliott 100% bro i agree!
if you don’t mind me asking, how much did it run you to have the valved system installed, assuming you had it done by a shop?
@rot i knew a guy so he was able to get it done and wired for me for $100
Nice work , what kind of diffuser is that ?
thanks! it’s a maxton diffuser.
Does it pop and burble that much with the exhaust or do you have a tune for it?
i have a tune for the pops. however without the tune, it burbles ever so slightly on decel and revs
Is this welded or just clamps? Sounds great!
clamps!
50% sounds best IMO.
50% is the winner for sure
what downpipe are you running with the catback?
it sounds great. i am currently running a stage 2 unitronic turbo back but i love the option of being able to open and close the valve. Thanks so much!
@Dane Ostilly thanks man! i’m running Xforce’s downpipe as well. unitronics turbo back sounds gnarly
@@nckgti7 thanks I appreciate you getting back to me. I do love the unitronic exhaust no complaints about it, it does have a good throaty tone. just good to know other options. Did you buy the downpipes and exhaust through Xforce?
@Dane Ostilly no worries man! unitronic is great! i bought the xforce stuff from urotuning actually i had some points lol
@@nckgti7catted or no cat?
Catted
tell me friend , you have a straight pipe installed but if de valve is closed , and you drive slowly , you have resonation ?
no, it is very very little. almost unnoticeable
Hey I love that ! Would you mind giving me a link to this system?
www.maperformance.com/products/xforce-stainless-steel-3-cat-back-exhaust-2015-2017-vw-gti-mk7-es-vw08-cbs?variant=31291802517574
How’s the drone on the highway?
So on the key fob, which button is to open and which is to close? There are only two buttons A and B but I really can't tell the difference by sound
@drsnowmon A should be open and B should be close. try holding them down, the sound might change more drastically. it took me a while to figure out too
@@nckgti7 thanks, and you were right except the reason why I couldn't tell the difference was because the fuse had blown inside the 12v cigarette lighter socket for the key fob module. After I replaced it, I could definitely tell the difference between open and closed
Hey bro, is your GTI tuned?
yes, stage 2 with IE
I know this might be a stupid question but for the valves to open and close does it come with a remote or is it an app
it comes with a remote!
@@nckgti7 Hey bro just wondering if the remote works from the drivers seat or do you have to be right next to the varex box for it to pick up the signal? Also did you wire through the spare wheel area into the 12v in the boot?
@Anthony Dang the remote works from the driver’s seat! i tend to point it at the fuse box tho, since that’s where my installer wired it for me. it’s tapped into the fuse box instead of the 12v
@@MoistCrack Hey mate. I've got my receiver box in the trunk and it works fine from the drivers seat.
@@petermuller74 cheers for the response Peter! This makes it much more enticing
Just a single muffler before the exhaust splits or 2 after the exhaust splits?
yea, single valved muffler before the exhaust splits. i think it’s actually a valved resonator but same thing
Is this exhaust setup with a downpipe and stage 2 or is it just stage 1? Sounds great!
It's turbo back, so it's aftermarket downpipe.
downpipe and stage 2!
What downpipe are you running? And for us losers in emission land, does it pass?
@Kris Bledsoe im running an Xforce downpipe and i fear that it does not pass
where did you buy the IE tune, and the pops and bangs tune?
you can purchase the tune directly from Integrated Engineering. i purchased it through urotuning. the pops and bangs is an option for the stage 2 file
@@nckgti7 thanks
Great video! Is this resonated or non-resonated?
thanks! and it’s non-resonated!
Do you have a pops and bangs tune or with the xforce it just pops?
i have the pops and bangs tune by Integrated Engineering! however the exhaust does have some light burbles sometimes, even without a tune
That’s awesome man, I just purchased a mk7 today. I’m thinking of going xforce I’ll see how I go🤔 haha.
@@samcuz1014 welcome to the club brother! i definitely recommend xforce! the valved system can’t be beat :)
@@nckgti7 thank you so much bro, yea I definitely will go xforce with the varex and possibly a stage 1 hah we’ll see
@@samcuz1014 a good man! enjoy the exhaust when you install it!!
where did you buy your Oettinger style carbon fiber spoiler
i got it through Ali Express actually. pretty cheap
How is the fitment on it?
fits good! there will be a slight gap though, if you don’t fit it in right because it doesn’t just slide into place due to the 3M
Is this compatible with the golf mk8, cause it sounds so good and the Akhrapovhich option where I stay is like around $8k after conversion, which is like 20% of the cars total price and not really worth it due to some aftermarket ones sounding better even at less than half the price at times.
i understand. im sure there will be a system for the mk8. this specific one doesn’t fit the mk8
Just wondering where you got the xforce exhaust
@entityduoa388 i got it from MAPerformance.com
How do you open and close the exhaust?
it comes with a remote and i can control it from there!!
Which diffuser is that? I want one for my 7.5 so bad.
thats a maxton design rear diffuser
@@robbysahadeo9786 Thanks! I emailed to check and make sure it isn't compatible with the facelift. It's so hard to find them. Which sucks cuz the GTI needs a better ass.
iSweep is great not sure if they have 7.5 tho
@@TheFlyingPLiner Thanks I'll look!

Where did you get the spoiler
got it from a third party seller from amazon actually. aliexpress has them too
Where can I buy this setup!?!
@Chad Rinker check out MAPerformance’s website for the catback and Urotuning’s website for the downpipe!
Is that Lone Mountain? lol
nah it isn’t lol
I’m seeing videos of this exhaust without the downpipe and it sounds way to quite
it’s definitely on the quiet side without a downpipe. but it’s subtle
@@nckgti7 on a scale of 1-10 how disappointed do you think I’d be
considering u want loud with just the catback, and 10 being extremely satisfied, prolly a 4.5
Is this catted or non cat dp
It’s a high-flow cat!
@@nckgti7 bet, I’m bout to get this setup, it’s sounds sick bro!
What inch are those tips
4 inch tips!
Hows IE bro?
i love it man! not the fastest tune out there but definitely super fun, and the pops aren’t obnoxious and continuous which i appreciate
@@nckgti7 IE makes the fastest tunes by a pretty fair margin, at least for bolt on and is38/k04. once you go super big turbo you need a custom tune but that’s a whole other can of worms
@Luke Fincher that’s totally true. i was talking in terms of tunes overall but IE makes really good tunes if custom tuning and constant data logging are off the table. that’s why i went with them!
