It was narrated from Thawban that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“I certainly know people of my nation who will come on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like the mountains of Tihamah, but Allah will make them like scattered dust.” Thawban said: “O Messenger of Allah, describe them to us and tell us more, so that we will not become of them unknowingly.” He said: “They are your brothers and from your race, worshipping at night as you do, but they will be people who, when they are alone, transgress the sacred limits of Allah.”
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ الرَّمْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ حُدَيْجٍ الْمَعَافِرِيُّ، عَنْ أَرْطَاةَ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الأَلْهَانِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لأَعْلَمَنَّ أَقْوَامًا مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَأْتُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِحَسَنَاتٍ أَمْثَالِ جِبَالِ تِهَامَةَ بِيضًا فَيَجْعَلُهَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ هَبَاءً مَنْثُورًا " . قَالَ ثَوْبَانُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صِفْهُمْ لَنَا جَلِّهِمْ لَنَا أَنْ لاَ نَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لاَ نَعْلَمُ . قَالَ : " أَمَا إِنَّهُمْ إِخْوَانُكُمْ وَمِنْ جِلْدَتِكُمْ وَيَأْخُذُونَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ كَمَا تَأْخُذُونَ وَلَكِنَّهُمْ أَقْوَامٌ إِذَا خَلَوْا بِمَحَارِمِ اللَّهِ انْتَهَكُوهَا " .

@Itachi Uchiha most important thing is Salah. Asking Allah for help and he will provide a way out. And second is that you try to replace it with something. That's what I realized. So be active and do something. If you sit idle in private with nothing to occupy yourself with, it is difficult to hold off. So what I did is that I played sports or did something productive. And another thing that helped me (and this might be controversial) were love songs . It puts you in a state of romance and you feel your humanity and you don't want to just waste your sexual energy like that. And every time you stop yourself, you get stronger. And finally, of course the BEST way is to marry. It's the most effective thing. It will lower your gaze and will completely turn off even the urge to want to watch pornography. May Allah help us all

A group of three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) asking how the Prophet (ﷺ) worshipped (Allah), and when they were informed about that, they considered their worship insufficient and said, "Where are we from the Prophet (ﷺ) as his past and future sins have been forgiven." Then one of them said, "I will offer the prayer throughout the night forever." The other said, "I will fast throughout the year and will not break my fast." The third said, "I will keep away from the women and will not marry forever." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to them and said, "Are you the same people who said so-and-so? By Allah, I am more submissive to Allah and more afraid of Him than you; yet I fast and break my fast, I do sleep and I also marry women. So he who does not follow my tradition in religion, is not from me (not one of my followers).

Salaam brothers and sisters. I say this with complete sincerity, the best protection and preventative measure against unlawful means of fulfilling sexual desires (porn, zina), is your Salaah. As someone who has struggled with pornography addiction for almost 20 years, absolutely nothing worked like my Salaah. I tried motivational videos, going to the gym, meditation, therapy, etc. While those are all good, with the absence of Salaah, Astagfirullah they are all in vain. Absolutely NOTHING was working until I started sincerely making my Salaah. It gives you protection within the time frame from the one Waqt to the next, and so and so forth. But be sure to abstain and ALSO work on improving the quality of your life, coupled with your Salaah and Insh-Allah these disgusting desires will fade and you will begin to work towards halaal means to fulfilling your desires such as marriage. Ameen.

How did you get into making the habit of Salaah? I have tried but it is very difficult especially since i struggle with sleeping so waking up for Fajr is quite difficult.
@@victoryisforever769 I always made Salaah since a child. My father never commanded me but he explained it is only for our benefit and nothing else. Seeing how successful he was life and how he attributed it to practicing on the Deen , I made the choice to emulate his behaviour. But I struggled with porn for years. Until one night in Ramadaan after Taraweeh, the Imam had a talk regarding Salaah. He quoted the following...The Prophet said, “Verily, prayer should stop him from doing that if what you say is true.” Source: Musnad Aḥmad 9778. And... Ibn `Awn Al-Ansari said: "When you are praying, you are doing good, it is keeping you away from immoral sins and evil wicked deeds and what you are doing is part of the remembrance of Allah which is greater. '' As such he stated that if you are making Salaah and still comitting sins, you are not making Salaah. Years later as I said I tried everything until I just couldn't take it anymore. I felt suicidal and hopeless but I remembered that there was ONE thing I forgotten. So I decided to challenge myself and put my full Iman that my Salaah will protect me and it protected me ever since. (I was making Salaah but rushing it and omitting the Sunnah portions, until I started taking my time and performing the Sunnah). If you make Fajr, it will protect you until Thur, then from Thur until Asr, and so on and so forth. I will make you a promise, put your full trust in Allah SWT and make Salaah to your fullest ability. And you shall see, your time to be productive will increase and your time spent doing actions that displease Allah will decrease. Give it a chance and I promise you, it will save your life.
@Victory is Forever, try your best to attend the congregational prayers at the masjid as much as you can. Go to the masjid at least 20 minutes before the prayer and read some Quran. This will boost your iman and khushoo in salah. May Allah make it easier for you, ameen.

Thank you for saying this. Although people may have good intentions when telling p*rn addicts to "just get married", it isn't as straightforward as that, and many times causes more harm than good. I have a friend who ended up divorced after less than a year of marriage because she found out that her husband was addicted to p*rn. And not just any kind of porn; he was addicted to an ILLEGAL type of porn. My friend is now traumatized; she has had to get therapy and take pills.
So I ask those who are addicted to p*rn; please fix your addiction BEFORE getting married, or you could potentially not only ruin your life but the life of your spouse.

In his video #6 I think, topic on focusing, he talks about how staring into a specific point for 30 seconds to couple of minutes (if I recall correctly) helps you increase your mental focus- especially if you're easily distracted, according to studies. Guess what we are advised to do in our prayers?
His advice has helped me a lot.

as a man who has been all alone in past years and suddenly has been plunged into a female dominated society(or field) I find it extremely hard to be disciplined especially as times moves forward.
At times temptations get the better of me and at times I'm very well disciplined. I think the point you said about not standing in the wave for it will engulf you was a brilliant insight along with channeling the sexual energy to productive use.
However it is extrmely hard to do that especially in a society that sleeping with better/more women gets you more validation and when we are talking with opposite gender we are actually talking with an intention to score or get more social validation rather than to get to know the other person and their life story.

Doctor Hijab, I respect all of this but can we please make it clear for men that women's arousal works soo differently. Especially in marriage. Literally everything one does on a day-to-day basis builds up to how gratifying the marital bonding would be or if it'd be established at all. In simple words, foreplay happens outside the bedroom for women. You cannot go by your day doing every repulsive, irritating, nerve wrecking or to the extreme abusive act around your woman and expect her to be up and ready for some bedroom action. Words, respect and treatment are so entangled to the woman's proclivity to develop affection and arousal for you. Keep the love alive in order to keep the sex alive.

حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ الرَّمْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ حُدَيْجٍ الْمَعَافِرِيُّ، عَنْ أَرْطَاةَ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الأَلْهَانِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لأَعْلَمَنَّ أَقْوَامًا مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَأْتُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِحَسَنَاتٍ أَمْثَالِ جِبَالِ تِهَامَةَ بِيضًا فَيَجْعَلُهَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ هَبَاءً مَنْثُورًا " . قَالَ ثَوْبَانُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صِفْهُمْ لَنَا جَلِّهِمْ لَنَا أَنْ لاَ نَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لاَ نَعْلَمُ . قَالَ : " أَمَا إِنَّهُمْ إِخْوَانُكُمْ وَمِنْ جِلْدَتِكُمْ وَيَأْخُذُونَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ كَمَا تَأْخُذُونَ وَلَكِنَّهُمْ أَقْوَامٌ إِذَا خَلَوْا بِمَحَارِمِ اللَّهِ انْتَهَكُوهَا " .

You missed the whole point. Allah _has_ given us the solution and that is to satisfy our desires by marrying up to 4 wives. If you can't find a good wife then find a bad one. Something is better than nothing.

It is easy to quit porn..by practising thought control and not allowing such thoughts to cross the mind...and yes it takes time to become normal

@@mikaelbran7174 Bro as simple as it can be, when you're hungry you eat food, when you're horny you have sexual intercourse with your _Wife_ . Our sexual urge is natural but using unnatural means to satisfy it will cause problems. Best solution is get married, if you can't find a good wife than look for a bad wife, by bad I mean poor, lower standard etc. At least you will have a chance to satisfy your sexual urge in a natural and halal way, and it will *greatly* help you in overcoming your addiction.
