I agree with this 100%! I started running regularly (not everyday, 3-4 times/week), and in just 2 months, my motivation, food habit, time management changed drastically!
Thanks, Mike! Yep, but if you think time as investment running is very efficient compared to the gym and other workouts. You can do it anytime, anywhere for free like fasting.
I absolutely abhorred running when I was a kid. Just never took the time and effort to practice it to concentrate on getting better at it so that I could get accustomed to doing it. I have been jogging regularly for a year without quitting on myself. I went jogging for 1 hour this morning and jogging 1 hr. yesterday morning also, and three days ago I ran for 1 hr. also (and two days ago I went swimming for 30 mins. but didn't go jogging). I find swimming and jogging (in the early a.m.) to be very enjoyable and easy ways to get some exercise in.
@@JasonGafar I agree that exercise should be a priority... but an hour a day is definitely a big ask depending on other responsibilities. I'm an ultra runner, and I can only squeeze in 4 runs, 1-2 strength sessions, and 1 yoga session each week, totaling less than 6 hours combined. I think people can be quite healthy with 3-4 hours of exercise a week.

I've now begun my fitness program all over again after nearly two sedentary years & am doing a walk/run program thats better than awesome, daily! On weekends I do my long walks (so far 10.5 miles is the longest distance I've gone, but with plans to increase incrementally). All the best everyone - here's to being a lifelong runner!!

I love running everyday! I started by walking a mile because I was overweight 295 pounds , than I started running and walking for 2 miles. I was pushing myself so much until I finally run a complete 2 miles without stopping, it helped me with my confidence and self esteem. Than I started running 2 miles at 5 am and 2 miles in the afternoon. I kept on pushing myself lost weight and gain more confidence. Now I run 4 miles at 5 AM and 6 miles in the afternoon. I’m 185 lbs now, running is my life. There’s ups and downs but NEVER GIVE UP. ✌🏽❤️
I began running again after years off just over one month ago. I began at five minutes then gradually built it up over the days and weeks and now running one hour a day. The benefits have immediately kicked in, losing weight especially my waistline. Clearer mind, lighter and brighter. Noticed too that appetite diminishes which I was not expecting. Visualisation is the key but also sheer determination and making into a good daily habit, early a.m works best for me. Then no chance to change your mind! Weekends off, good to have the yin and yan life balance😎👌
This month I started running 4 times a week, starting slow and low miles. Just this week (week 4) I’ve started looking forward to my runs and feeling better after them. Did 4 miles today, the most I’ve ever run, my body feels good, and I feel ready to continue this journey.
I agree with what you have said. It’s visualization, discipline and control. And once you do that in running you can automatically apply the same principles in other parts of your life. Thanks for sharing.
1 hour is a nice number for a headline, but people should do it gradually, starting from 5 minutes I'd suggest. If you're unprepared, long runs will definitely give you injuries, which is a big motivation to stop your running as a beginner. There's a long way to condition your body for 1 hour runs without major efforts.
Good point Den! You also can start doing short runs/sports on your daily walks. Just start increasing qty and lengths of those short runs and walking turns into running.
I run on a treadmill for 1 hour non-stop but at a steady pace mostly in between 6.5 to 7. I don't actually care about the calories burnt my main concern is to endure and make sure I stop when that screen time is at 0. It's has been a week now since I started and I feel great 😃. I will incorporate this routine in my lifestyle.

As time went on, I was able to do 1 mile, 2, 4.. It got easier. Now, Minimum of 2 miles a day (When i'm weak, or fasting) but on average now, it is a minimum of 4 miles up to 6 miles a day. My miles are 9-11 minutes (I am 6'7) I weighed 322lbs in february, currently sitting at 245.
