I saw him in person when he sang with Puente during the early '70s at Barney Googles and the Corso in Manhattan's E86th St. & 3rd Ave. They were very memorable shows.

Who knows why? And this guy had good moments. He’s biggest challenge was his lack of Spanish vocabulary and his oversimplification and predictable clave interpretation.

He worked steady until his recent retirement from music. Frankie Figueroa is also a retired NYC Paramedic/Driver of the NYC Dept of Hospitals. I remember him with his 5 groupies arriving at a Bronx club with his new Lincoln wearing a Superfly hat. (1975). He is an original showman known as ''El Boxiador''. Pura Crema , pa' que lo sepas !!!!!

Terrible composition and the worst singer Puente ever had. But Puente’s solo makes up for the deficient arrangement.
