Feel like sana more than anyone has a singing style that really reflects her personality or at least on camera personality. Maybe jihyo too cause she’s super strong like a leader, but sana always sounds like she’s singing with a smile on her face which I feel like is how people view her. Always with a smile on her face

if you have ever seen Sana backstage moments, she ALWAYS dances and sings with a smile! you can tell that she really loves being an idol.
That has always been one of the main reasons she is so popular.. she remains in such a sweet, soft state for an extended period of time because that's part of her personality (even if she likely has to decompress later). It's why, like Jihyo, is uniquely fun to watch on fancams. There is always something going on with them.
Trueee. She's golden retriever energy personified. It's a wonder how she can always stay bubbly and happy. I think the members also said that she's always so bright too. Maybe it's just really how she is even off cam.
Dahyun has a couple of melody projects where she sings, I think. Also some covers where she is singing while playing the guitar or the piano on Twice channel.

Same thoughts here, she's the least asides from Momo that I can say that she can't sing as an idol in a famous group because of her singing and it's poorly performed. Today's a bit different and she improved.
@@yevgenyalekhinelargo1662 lol that's funny cause you assessment would have been right 7 years back now tzuyus vocals are grown from f+ to E AND SHE can support too which is also like top 5 in vocal ability in twice and 4/9 in twice including momo sana dahyun n chae have no support ranges yet... she's clearly in top 5 comparing her to momo is kinda disrespect when she's already doing so well and keeping it consistent on live.... she's 4th best live singing too...

Yes! Dahyun has many covers! She does Melody projects. She did a collab with Chaeyoung where they did JYP and Rains "Switch to Me" so you could start with that since Chae is there as well.

Everyone’s improvement over the years has been amazing but Chaeyoung, Sana and Tzuyu improvement makes me hope if they want solos or subunits it could come in the future.
Something many fans don't know, during trainee days Chaeyoung had been training to be a vocalist, but when sixteen was announced, she thought to change her point skill to rapping since there was too much competition on vocal side
Chaeyoung indeed trained as a singer but she quickly got interested and trained in rapping around iirc 1 yr into her trainee days. That's abt 1 to 2 yrs before sixteen.
I believe it's actually Dahyun you're talking about whom had to change to compete as a rapper just before sixteen.
Chaeyoung is a rapper even before Sixteen, she even said to her introduction in Sixteen that's she's the best rapper among the contestants
I think Chaeyoung is extremely talented and creative. She is a superstar waiting to blossom imo. Obviously she is well known, loved by many and has her place in TWICE but she has so much more to give to the entertainment industry. The era of Chae is coming…

honestly this killing voice solidified for me how much i like jihyo's voice, it's this open quality! i love it when jihyo uses her full well rounded voice. she know how much volume she need to put, the best part is her voice sound so full when hitting high note! one of the best belter i've ever heard in kpop

@@stuguy2 they're undeniably incredible vocalists with great control and tone. what i personally love about jihyo's voice is the unique open quality and fullness she brings to her belting. wendy, solar and jihyo, they have these powerful voices. it's not about being 'better' than others but appreciating what makes each artist special in their own right lol

i wish they included a few songs that showcased their lower register better like Cry for me, Scientist etc as well but twice got such a huge and diverse discog of hits after hits it's impossible to select songs

Woahhh 🤯. I can't believe that I just finished watching a one (1) hour reaction video. That's like watching a movie. It's like I've been brainwashed. I mean, Coach Kat keeps on saying during the video that the video would last for 30 minutes, then I remembered that TWICE's Dingo video lasted for 31 minutes so I thought that maybe the video would be between 30-40 mins long. I didn't know the exact length of the reaction video 'coz I was watching right after the countdown of premier with the live chats. So yes I'm really surprised hahahaha... Twice vocals have improved and matured so much! I can't believe the insecure haters (some even commenting on videos like this?!) still denying the fact that these girls can sing! THEY ARE PERFORMERS, WORLD-CLASS IDOLS, AND ALWAYS ALWAYS GIVE THEIR 100% EVERY TIME. Haters still gonna be haters but my girls will keep on getting more 💸, more famous, and happier! Sana and Momo (unsurprisingly) have a very typically Japanese way of singing, which I really love being a JPop lover first and foremost. I’m with you on Mina. I really wish she would just open her mouth more. I come from a choir background, so it actually kind of bothers me how tight her jaw is. Her natural sound is so pretty. Her tone would sound much more full and vibrant if she relaxed her jaw. I’m surprised the folks at JYP haven’t tried to train that habit out of her. I think they’re all very colorful singers and I love their voices individually. I wish Jeongyeon got more love because she probably has my favorite voice out of the group. It sounds so much more mature than everyone else’s voice, but it doesn’t feel out of place among them.
Ok, I know you will love to chat about this. My theory about that closed jaw/tense jaw is actually that there was one point in kpop idol "history" where I noticed that companies were really pushing "pretty face during singing" so no wild openers, nose scrunches...well nothing you need for proper belting and so, which is...again ridiculous, but it shows how neglected singing sometimes is. I think she has this effect.. What do you think?
@@Katriinka I never actually considered that, but it makes a lot of sense! Mainstream KPop is so focused on image that it often trumps everything, even more than talent. I wouldn’t be surprised if many singers, not just Mina, are discouraged from making expressions like you described when singing because they aren’t “pretty” and break the perfect image. The obsession with perfection is actually what has kept me from really becoming a KPop fan fully. I dabble here and there and really enjoy groups like TWICE and Red Velvet, but there is often a sense of artificiality and impersonality. Everything has to be perfect. There’s very little live singing anymore and if they do sing live, many times, the backing track is so loud, they might as well be lipsyncing. Even in programs like this where they’re supposed to be singing live, it’s so heavily produced and edited so that nearly any imperfection or mistake that is sometimes bound to happen in live singing is scrubbed out. So, yeah. I can definitely see where you’re coming from. Let singers look ugly! It’s okay!

You talk about each member's voice, and I love that! Not everyone in kpop is a Jihyo or Wendy. I generally like the subvocals of a group or indie voice types . Diva singers are just not my type and in kpop, not everyone is there to be a main vocalist. That's okay - kpop is about the variety of every member!

Even MOMO, SANA AND Dahyun who are considered the bottom line when it comes to vocals, they never fail to surprise me. As someone who is not educated on the topic of vocals and stuff, they all sound like main vocalists to me. Their voices have a certain flavor and contrast that I've never found in another group. I really really love TWICE.

i love your videos and your reactions, i think u are very genuine and u know the limitations that (not only twice) idols have in singing!!
For me, Twice main point was never their vocals! is the way they bring fun and emotion to the songs they perform! u can see that the entire video u were smiling and vibing with them. they lack in vocals? maybe, but they never were marketed like that and that's something that i value.
Twice is kpop, but kpop will never have another Twice!

Twice has a melody project, where you can listen to covers by Dahen and other girls, and they also have solo performances at concerts in the last tour. At one point, Jeonyong had few excerpts due to a break for health reasons

The jyp half air half sound can be found in a lot of the older generation groups and Twice was one of the last groups really implement it. Besides a select few in the newer debuted groups like Chaeryeong Bangchan
Love all your reactions Kat! TWICE always hold the number one spot in my heart mainly due to their cheerful relaxing genre and discography, not forgetting their vocal talents and visuals. But I noticed you have not started listening to XG, which is a 7 Japanese girl group but marketed themselves in the KPOP industry. They are a really talented group debuted in 2022 and has won over many fans in just less than 2 years.
You may want to them out starting from their debut track "Tippy Toes", "Mascara", "Shooting Star", "Left Right", "Winter Without You", "Puppet Show" "TGIF", "New Dance"and more. They genres are heavily R&B, Rap and Y2K Pop influenced. Really looking forward to your reactions to them soon~!!

I just finished watching this, and I loved your comments, Katriinka!!! I sing too, not professionally, but I fully understood your reactions towards the members different singing styles! Each member has their own style of singing, yet as a whole, it absolutely works!!!! Their voices are maturing even more as they get older, too, so it would be great to hear more of a soulful maturity in future songs. I will be on the floor, crying my eyes out, on the day that they have to disband. They’ve spent so much time together as a group! Imagine breaking up with someone, not able to spend almost everyday together anymore, with that person that you got along with so well, and now having to live the rest of your life solo, without that sense of being in a team atmosphere??? Even though some members have done solo work, they always missed their members and wanted to run back to them! They know that will happen someday, and their hearts will break, but I’m sure they’ll always be in touch with each other for the rest of their lives! I have never seen so many “female members in a singing group” get along so well!!! You can notice that here, too! It BLOWS MY MIND how they don’t seem to show any jealousy towards each other! I’m sure they might have felt it, but put it behind them, because intense jealousy would’ve broken them up years ago! The Heavens above had chosen the most compatible and most beautiful girls to come together and stay together for many years to show their fans the answer to “WHAT IS LOVE?”….For me, TWICE is not just about their music, but more about them as sweet and kind human beings! They are each UNIQUELY BEAUTIFUL (It’s insane!!!) young women, and a true testament to how people should treat each other to make other people feel loved and accepted! I ❤ TWICE, and blessed to be a ONCE, because this is a ONCE in a lifetime experience!!!! No other Kpop group will ever give me “The Feels”, ever again!!!!
