Their biggest hits Stateside were Vapor Trail and Taste....but they were more college rock hits and MTV 120 minutes staples...and yes Dinosaur Jr...are definetly in their peer group
They were in a triumvirate of shoegaze bands: Ride, Lush and the legendary My Bloody Valentine. Early 90's were rich with shoegaze/dreampop bands, fertile music times!
Ride are an English rock band formed in Oxford in 1988. The band consists of Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence "Loz" Colbert, and Steve Queralt. The band were initially part of the "shoegazing" scene that emerged in England during the early 1990s. Dinosaur Jr is awesome! Saw them at Lolapalooza 93 Orlando
I do believe this was in the uk charts the same time as Pearl jams alive, Smells like teen spirit, Primal screams Dixie Narco EP…..really was the year music started to get good again after the shite from the previous few years
@@Darrenski 😂 You haven't a clue! I'll be sticking to Opeth, Orbit Culture, NeO, and the like. I would imagine you don't like every single band there is out there either, Mr. Rudeness.
I think you may have heard of Vapour Trail by Ride back in the early '90s.
Soaring, epic, anthemic, layered... what a way to kick off what would become a classic 90s album 👌
That was cool watching your mind getting blown in parts
I saw them just last week and they still sound great.
I love having my mind blown!

I cant believe 30 years went by so quick lol i was in my teens when those bands were around.
Never heard of Lush. But no Slowdive?
I am from Brisbane, Australia. I saw them live when they were 19yo. Going back for a new 'episode' i The are only 51??

i dont recognise shoegaze as a thing . its all just Baggie ffs!
There was no shoegazing scene, that is some sort of post event pidgeon holeing
Listen to Swervedriver
It was all about maximizing the guitar effects, and the new technology. I know, coz I did it.
Fantastic tune, listen to next song Twisterella
That's on a shortlist.
Check out the Irish band “Fatima Mansions” song 1000% from their album Valhalla Avenue, also from round 92

The were part of "ShoeGazing". (If anyone knows what that means now ;-(
No it was called shoe gaze, and I remember it very well being 21 in 92
Wasn't a fan of this. Too much noise.
Happy to see you back though. 🙂
Shoegazing is like that. Distorted sound with vocals that sound like humming or chanting. Not my style of music but there are sum great jams
Noise is beautiful
Stick to Taylor swift then

they called it 'the wall of sound'
