Like Nike says…JUST DO IT!!!! I’m ex PROTESTANT Pastor myself. After decades of frustration, seeking for more and deeper fullness, and then inadvertently learning the early church was actually Catholic…it was pretty much game over for me. I then started my long seeker and then conversion journey! I still took my time (a few years and hundreds of books, videos, sources and materials, attending RCIA, and talking to priests, and visiting Mass ..etc) to ensure and learn everything fully and correctly. I’m still learning more everyday and it constantly seeks to reaffirm everything!! What a beautiful, wonderful, and deep ancient faith! Do it brother..you won’t be disappointed. The key is also balancing it with prayers and discernment, and praying the rosary 📿 so with our Blessed Mother, she will lead you to a deeper understanding and fullness. It’s so amazing!

wow, amazing testimony Pastor. Great point about the early Church and the faith handed down. Have you checked out a couple resources: The Didache (probably dating to the 90's AD); Clement's letters to the Corinthian Church and Hershmeyer's, 'The Early Church was Catholic'.

I came into the church in 2020 and I feel extremely lucky that I didn't have to wait on a spouse. One of my cousins who converted that same year is still waiting on his wife and only just this year was able to get his sons baptized. Joining the Catholic Church has been such a wonderful experience for me and I will be praying for you and your family as you make this journey. I can't wait till you are able to be in full communion. I watched and I so get it. I relate. Cradle Cath. Left that and became evangelical for decades. HOWEVER, so much is bringing me back to Catholicism (one thing is the Eucharist) and God giving me dreams. I took my very protestant husband to mass (our first in 24 years of marriage). He is enjoying it. He sees nothing wrong with it and is amazed at how much scripture is read. What we are doing is reading church history together. AND, listening to Catachism in a year (Father Mike). Maybe you and your wife could do that. I also ordered the book and this will help a lot. I still go to my protestant church group. I'm exploring as you are. No need to jump....take your time. Keep reading. God will watch out for you. You have a family. I will be praying for you. angela

I was where you are now about a year ago. I was Southern Baptist for 40 years, but I had fallen away and quit going to church. While I agreed with everything in the faith, I just didn’t connect or get anything out of the service. My mother-in-law died and I was forced to attend her funeral Mass. That experience stuck with me and I started researching the Catholic Church and realized that I had fallen for all the myths that were out there. I wish you luck on your journey and hope that we can welcome you into the one, true, Catholic, and apostolic Church commissioned by Christ through St. Peter.

I totally get it. Also the Eucharist is the most alluring part for sure.

  • @bosmeroya

Dude, this is so relatable. Evangelical born and raised here. I also saw Francis Chan talk about that weird transubstantiation word and that other weird Eucharist word a few years ago and thought he was NUTS, but then every time my church did Communion after that I couldn't help but remember what he said about the early church and how they really believed it was Christ's body and blood, every time. So that sort of primed me. Then over the past six months I discovered a lot of what you discovered. I'm also not at all in a good place to convert/join RCIA right now as I'm literally moving out in two weeks - to a Protestant university no less! But I'm devoted to Christ and uncovering His Truth, wherever that may lead, and right now it really seems like the Catholic Church has way more right answers than I originally thought. I'm in that weird in-between place where it feels quite lonely, so it felt nice watching this and being like "yeah!! yeah exactly!" haha.
Do you also have an absurdly long "to-read" list of Catholic/Early Church books you've been recommended? I have no idea how I'm going to balance college studying and all this personal material, but man I'm itching to get through some of this stuff. Excited about Chesterton in particular.

    • @R.C.A.T
      @R.C.A.T 2 роки тому +8

My Parish has RCIA meeting all year and people come into the Church when they're ready. It's actually a good way to learn about what Catholics believe with no pressure to convert. Plus you have access to Priests for questions and fellowship with other people on the same journey.

    • @BecomingCatholic

ThanK you SO much for this comment. I'm stoked you could relate to it and are on this journey too. It's honestly so thrilling and rewarding so don't give up on it. I understand what you mean about it feeling lonely, sometimes I feel like I'm going nuts because I seem to be the only person in my life and community who can see what I see! haha
As for a reading list, first I'd say get G.K. Chesterton's "The Catholic Church and Conversion," I'm going to do a video on it in the future because it is monumental. Also, join the Somewhat Civil Christian Debate group on Facebook and pick up on all of the references that the Catholics in the group mention. That's what really got the ball rolling for me. Also check out the book "The Three Greatest Prayers" by Thomas Aquinas OR "The Catechetical Instructions of St. Thomas Aquinas" (they are nearly the same book, just the latter has some extras) because Aquinas is phenomenal at synthesizing the Church Fathers. And finally, I'd just say Google some topics like Communion, Mary, Saints, etc., followed by the names of specific Early Church Fathers. My go-to Fathers are Polycarp, Ignatius, and Irenaeus.
Please stay in touch and keep commenting on the videos! I'd love to keep up with you on your journey. May God bless you and keep you.

@@BecomingCatholic Going nuts, yep, that's exactly how I feel. Like, the evidence of things like apostolic succession and the profound and biblical nature of Catholic justification are becoming so clear and obvious to me but it's like nobody else sees it. I'm reminded of Paul before Festus and Agrippa in Acts 26: "Now as he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, 'Paul, you are beside yourself! Much learning is driving you mad!' But he said, 'I am not mad, most noble Festus, but speak the words of truth and reason.'" It sometimes feels that this rabbit hole of learning has made me mad, but no, this is truth. What a wild ride!
Haha I just read that Chesterton book a few days ago because you recommended it in the video! I DEVOURED it. It absolutely deserves its own video; his breakdown of the "three stages of conversion" had me smiling because of how true it rang. I took notes but I'll probably reread it again soon just because of how rich each chapter was. That all of history is oriented under Catholicism, that all various modern ideologies are shades of Catholicism gone wrong, that the Protestant denominations are only suited to the new conditions and become almost pointless when those conditions change... deep stuff that has me seriously reevaluating things.
Thank you for the other recommendations as well! May God bless you too brother.

Hello, cradle Catholic here! when my husband and I were dating a couple of years ago he wasn’t religious at all- he did believe there was a higher power but never fully immersed himself in any religion. So, I invited him to come to mass with me and he was open to go. After sometime he continued asking me and my dad the traditions we do in church and ask questions about the Bible. Finally, in 2020, I saw a major shift in his beliefs after we lost several loved ones in both of our families. After that we finally got engaged and we married in the Catholic Church in 2022. We continue to go to church together and grow our faith. I feel your wife will eventually come around if she experiences mass with you and she can see that every tradition in mass has purpose. Just continue to pray for her, as I prayed for my husband to start making that conversion.
God bless you and your family on this journey into the Catholic family 🙏🏼

Your story is so fascinating. I'm actually also ethnically Jewish. It's not very well known, but in the Church, Catholics with Jewish ethnic backgrounds are called Hebrew Catholics. I feel like my Jewish background has honestly helped with my faith a lot because a lot of Catholicism is so much better understood when you first understand the roots of Judaism. And I think it's so beautiful that you wanna make your own rosary! For kids who grow up in the Church, I think most of us end up making our own rosaries at one point or another. I remember that I did, probably back when I was in religious education. I was never any good at the knotted rosaries, but I loved making the ones with the beads, and I also made a St. Michael chaplet with these beads that would slide because of the way the string was woven with the beads. It's really cool and I also still have that one. I feel like the making of your own rosary is such an integral part in having a devotion to Our Lady and the rosary. I stumbled on your channel & find it interesting listening to the conversion of those into our Catholic faith. Welcome home! I'm a cradle Catholic & had my moments where I didn't practice it, especially with parents who didn't practice it as much once they immigrated to the US. Years ago, I was going through personal changes & got involved working for a family who hand made scapulars as one of their businesses. I learned so much from them, prayed the rosary after end of each business day & went to church afterwards as will as the TLM on Sundays. I learned to sew scapulars. I asked one of the spanish sewers why they kissed their fingers after making the sign of the cross & it was in reverence to Jesus so I never stopped. Long story short, I struggled having to go to NO mass since TLM was far away, especially during COVID. Found out that a TLM church was near me so started attending it in 2024. I volunteer to make rosaries (we donate it to prisons, other organizations & other countries who needs them). I'll check out your video on how it was making the rosary for you. Wow! I’m kind of shocked by how much I relate to your story. I started considering Catholicism since exploring information about how Catholics perform exorcisms and learning about church history! I’ve never been closer to it than I am right now. It’s so fascinating that the same subjects that intrigued you intrigue me, it’s also poignant that you were/are in a Pentecostal/Charismatic church and I am too! I’ve always been open to the idea and never been anti-Catholic, but also never fully embraced it. I also pray with a rosary sometimes, and I’m warming up to Hail Marys and other Catholic ideas about prayer. I honestly don’t understand why the history drew me so much; I guess I see the validity. The beliefs regarding the Eucharist are drawing me currently. It’s one of the things I’m considering changing my mind about.
God bless you in your journey!

Some friends and I used to pray the rosary and worship God, once a week in a little chapel we had painted and organized, in a room at the office of the secretary of our church. I had brought , from home, a little bust of Mary and baby Jesus, made of wood. And we were praying in front of the Holy Host (saint Sacrement, in french). Well,at one moment, I had the impression of life in my statue, like in this testimony. I felt so much tenderness for Mary that I was drawn to kiss her cheek. I kissed her cheek.

when building a house, it's important for a person to start with a good foundation. a solid rock foundation.
i believe Scripture is crystal clear about that as well -- building your house on solid foundation. we find this in Ecclesiastes 12:13 also, he states that the fullness of man, our aim, is to _'fear God and keep His Commandments, for this is man's all.'_
if i were to go to your church and tell everyone that we can steal, but only once a week -- i'd probably be escorted to the door.
if i were to tell them it's ok to have an idol or to worship Baal, but only once weekly -- it's be out of a job.
yet when the weekly Holy comes around, that's exactly what catholicism does -- they forget the One which begins with 'Remember' -- opting to be a day late, pretending a day which is known by our Creator as a 'work day', is now the Lord's day -- which Scripture proves the contrary.
i believe the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation shows that God's church upholds Truth (1 Tim 3:15), His Ten Commands -- Psalm 119:142, 151
i read that this supposed 'change' or tampering with the Holy Command was not only prophesied in Daniel 7 -- but the system which was clearly identified as the system which would do this, they freely admit and teach that it was them that did it!
yet the entire Christian world still wonders after this beast (country, political entity) acting as if it's ok to live contrary God's Word.
have you ever considered the evil, vile, most hateful thing ever taught being that our Loving Creator would torture a person for billions, trillions of years, for eternity -- for a measly 40-50-70 years of living life in sin and choosing not to be saved?
it's not what the Bible teaches.
it's the most God hating theory any entity ever created --- all in an effort to make our Loving Creator look worse than a rapist!
    think about it:
Charles Manson, Adolph Hitler, Mao, Stalin -- they could kill a person only one time. yet the catholic version of 'hell' has a man or woman cooking, slow roasting for billions, trillions of years, eternally -- while alive and feeling it for every second!
    far from loving!
in fact, that's the first lie ever told by Satan, on earth. see Genesis 3:4 -- while God said clearly that the soul that sins, dies. Satan has catholicism still pretending that a person will live forever either in Heaven or in 'hell' -- which isn't what the Bible teaches at all.
i could show you how clear the Bible is about this subject as well.
    friend, choose Christianity.
don't lead your family into this pagan system of lies. it hates God!
this evening, the Lord's day begins at sunset -- i pray It brings you to a state of mind that wants to do God's Will and His alone.
will certainly be keeping you in prayer, Sir.
thank you very much for reading.
    questions always welcomed & encouraged.
    tony

So much of this was emotional and subjective. And yet you also have read some really good intellectual stuff. My journey of faith is a lot like the British author and Oxford scholar C.S.Lewis. I went from Agnostic to Christian in 1980 but only quite a bit later discovered Lewis. I also love the Early Church Fathers. But I don't find the full Roman Catholic Transubstantiation in them. The study that I did in reading Martin Luther indicates to me that the big difference was Luther was an Augustinian and looked at it from a Platonistic perspective and was reacting to Thomas Aquinas who was part of the big rediscovery of Aristotle. The Apostle John, Polycarp, Irenaeus could all be read from a non Aristotelian view. It does seem to me that Zwingli was overreacting to some of what he didn't like in Catholicism so I think zwingli made some mistakes. But I don't see The Roman Catholic Mass anywhere before Aquinas, the Platonic worldview seems to fit just as well. Overall I would say Luther was right, Leo X was wrong.

🙏†TRUE AND POWERFUL CONVERSION STORY, OF A GREAT SINNER AND GREAT MIRACLES! Part II
Thank GOD for our LADY of GUADALUPE; when I visited her Shrine in Mexico in Dec. 2012, and I was suffering at the time of "Sleep Apenea" I was healed really while still there - FRARNKLY, my first intensions were to honor her! †Also, when I prayed few Rosaries to help me to quit smoking cigaretes on May 17, 1998, she answered my prayers immediately, though I was SUPER skeptical at that time, (prv 3: 5)
†Truly, when I was inspired to recite one single Rosary in December 12, 2000, I was healed from my unbelief (Jn. 14: 1) - and I tried at the time first to pray OUR FATHER, but I couldn't remember the prayer; but GOD still saved me (Jn 14:15 - 27)!
†Also During my first Rosary procession outdoors in May 13, 2001, I saw Queen of the Holy Rosary walking with us for 4-5 seconds; And she was dressed of long, dark, blue dress & absolutely attractive one, etc. etc!
†Since my conversion, I try NOT to miss attending Mass weekly or daily etc. And I pray the Devine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00pm, and I NEVER miss it.
†UNDOUBTLY, Reading & meditating on "Gospel of life" according to the daily readings is like my "daily bread" And I read the Bible from cover to cover 3 times since my conversion! - and I read the CCC as well, (Is. 55: 10 -11). I remember very well that In the beginning of 2003 I heard VERY sweet voices for few times singing above my bed as I awoke in the morning, and they continued nearly 5 seconds!
Also, I like to what some one says: every winter turns into spring. But "The fool says in his heart, "There is no God" (Ps.14:1). †Unfortunately, many "Catholics don't know what they have, and Evangelicals don't know what they are missing!"
†And I used to attend few different Evangelical Churches for few years searching for TRUTH while residing in Stockholm & they opened my eyes a LITTLE bid to the facts of faith at the time.
† God is still in the miracle buisness. And thank God for the ROSARY miracle prayer, etc.(Ps. 107:13- 14)

Hey brother, I was baptized as a Roman Catholic but since there were lack of priests explaining the faith, when there was a big setback in my life I left the church and attended a Baptist church (one of the many Protestant denomination). At first I did not mind the red flag (pastors have a feud with one another so that pastor left the church). They sure are knowledgeable with the Bible and even church members love to debate and accused Roman Catholics of idolatry etc. They even don't have a united bible interpretation, and does not accept Mary's virginity they said Jesus has brothers, etc. I returned now to the Roman Catholic church and got married. Leaving the church was a mistake, Protestants don't have the sacraments. The church should be one and united not like them so many denominations. So that is not the true church.

St Ignatius was St Peter's successor in his Bishop seat at Antioch, and placed Ignatius there before he went to Rome. His 7 letters tell it all. Listen to the Bishop! The Eucharist is real, anything else is heresy. Also, he mentions the Alter, etc. The Apostles would recognize the Mass, if you have read the Early Church Fathers. That is point 1, 2 and 3 to convert to Christ's Church! God Bless You on your journey.

the catholic church is kind of like a recipe from Kentucky Fried Chicken. A mixture of paganism, occult ,and a sprinkling of christianity
