@@BensWorkshop yes, I thought he was going to say he liked the Prayer for Holiness-O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, Who by the will of the Father and cooperation of the Holy Ghost, hast by thy death given life to the world: deliver me by this, Thy most sacred Body and Blood, from all my iniquities and from every evil; make me cling always to Thy commandments, and permit me never to be separated from Thee. Who with the same God, the Father and the Holy Ghost, livest and reignest God, world without end. Amen. I cannot imagine why this prayer was taken out when they wrote the novus ordo Mass.
As someone who grew up in a Muslim culture in Pakistan in the city of Mirpur. I had spiritual experience at a catholic church, I fell into tears and that was out of my control.
I was a muslim converted to Catholic Christian. For me its a miracle along my personal spiritual experience - The Lord Jesus visited me. Firstly i thought it was just a dream but after all so many things happened then i realized it wasnt just the dream. He answered my question.
Welcome home! I know you probably had to give up a lot and were probably shunned by family and friends. Just know that what you have gained is everything. Continue to pray for them. P.S. I’m married to an ex-Muslim. I know how hard it was for my husband to handle at first. God bless you. ✝️❤️🙏🏽📿
I wept harder then I knew was possible at my first Latin Mass. Took me completely by surprise but I knew I was home! Six months later I was received into the Church and since then have grown spiritually at a rate I could only have dreamt about previous. @@crushtheserpent I cried like a baby at my first TLM! 😭 Not only is the TLM so much more beautiful, reverent and prayerful than the NOM, 🥹 but I felt like I had been cheated at every NOM and would be cheated at any future NOMs! 😡
@@BecomingCatholic Hello Nate, there are 3 valid Traditional Latin Masses in your area: St. Michaels in Glenmont, NY, OLMC in Hudson NY and St. Joseph's Novitiate in Roundtop, NY. Most modern Catholic masses are invalid. Valid sacraments are based on valid matter, form, intention and valid minister. In 1968, Paul VI introduced substantial changes in the "form" of consecration of bishops. His "new form" neither expresses the "power of the order that the bishop receives nor the grace of the Holy Ghost - both of which are necessary for the conferring of episcopal consecration" This from Sacramentum Ordinis of Pope Pius XII - 1947. Paul VI also changed the very form of the consecration of Christ's Blood from "many" to "all" - thus invalidating the consecration. That invalid change became so obviously problematic that it caused Benedict XVI to strike the "all" and return to the "many". Benedict's seemingly "conservative" move was done to further deceive the "elect". The invalidity problem however, was not corrected because the 1968 changes made in the form of the bishop's consecration now made it so that the novus ordo hierarchy no longer possesses valid orders. This invalidity is clearly seen in the actions of Francis wherein the Holy Ghost is not governing his actions. Recall the promise of Jesus Christ stating "[18] And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." St. Matthew 16. Numerous Catholic prophecies predicted that satan would infiltrate the Catholic Church as was done at Vatican 2.
@@BecomingCatholic Here is one such prophecy: From Archbishop Fulton Sheen - 1948: "He [Satan] will set up a counter church which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. . . .But the twentieth century will join the counter church because it claims to be infallible when its visible head speaks ex cathedra." (Fulton J. Sheen, Communism and the Conscience of the West, Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill, 1948, pp. 24-25)
@@JohnAlbertRigali -- Please be careful how you choose your words! Our Lord does NOT cheat you when he stands on the altar in even the least reverent NO liturgy! I’ve been devout LDS my whole life, had a wonderful experience inside a Catholic church this summer while attending a baptism. I was completely struck by the beauty (LDS chapels are basically sterile inside I’ve come to realize) and now I’m currently in OCIA. 😊
@ Hey that’s awesome! No one knows I’m in OCIA, except for my husband (he left the lds faith 10 years ago but has come with me every week to support me and our kids) and I’m absolutely terrified to tell family about it. Mostly because I know it will devastate them and I don’t want to hurt them. Praying for some major courage right now, I’ve always been a people pleaser so this is extremely hard for me. Good luck on your journey 🙏🏻
@@rhyde0731just a thought… how about writing them a letter. Tell them everything you want to say because you might not have a chance again. Tell them WHY you are
I became catholic because of the holiness of the Latin mass. There was an otherness about it that I couldn’t explain. It’s a reverent holy sacrifice. I can’t go to a rock concert and call that worship anymore. I didn’t know any better before. I know better now.
Traditional Latin mass is the true mass, the mass of all the great saints. Welcome to the Catholic Church, happy to see that you have discovered this treasure
Sadly TLM is a rite that has been politicized, inducing sectarism. Although we all like tradition and solemnity, the Ball in the game is the eucharist. Let's not take the eye off the Ball. Also there are MANY rites in the Catholic Church, the TLM is just one more.
All of our liturgies are the true Mass. All are sacred, even the sacred extraordinary Missal of 1962. We should be using the dates so we do not start thinking our liturgy is 100% identical to 33AD.
Extremely sad to hear that you are a Catholic that loves something other than God. I hope you come to meet God, one on one, so that you will not get so excited about EXTERIORS and you finally see how the Latin, the music and veils pale in comparison to whom is actually present in the Eucharist, life, soul and divinity -Jesus Christ!, regardless if the Mass is in Chinese, Vietnamese or Latin…
@@crushtheserpent , I’m sorry, you stated above, “I love videos of people discovering the Latin Mass for the first time” what is the Latin Mass that you have placed it above God? Most of us Catholics are happy that people have discovered JESUS CHRIST in the Holy Eucharist…but you love people discovering the Latin Mass? Where did I judge you? Where did I misunderstand you? What is my presumption?? Jesus Christ saves us. The Latin Mass does not save us.
@@stephguz Where have I said I place the Latin Mass before God? Where have I said that it's the Latin Mass that saves? I love seeing people discover the Latin Mass because huge numbers (myself included) encounter God in a very powerful way there. More so than anywhere else. I wept harder than I knew possible at my first Latin Mass. God presence was overwhelming. It's rare I get through a Mass without my eyes at least misting up. That's all I meant. In no way was I placing the Mass before Christ. The Mass IS Christ!
True. At the beginning of the Latin Mass, the priest pauses at the foot of the altar and prays his personal CONFITEOR, asking the congregation to pray that God will forgive his sins and deem him worthy to even walk up the altar steps! He prays the 'Domine non sum dignus' three times, in honor of the Holy Trinity.
Your explanation brought tears to my eyes as a convert to Catholicism 30 years ago. I couldn’t agree more about the richness of experience a Latin mass. I tell everyone it has to be what heaven is like.
I’m 42 years old and I love seeing how many people are turning to Catholicism. I walk away from my religion and tried so many different churches and none them felt like home will I walked back into a Catholic Church a month ago. 🙏🙏🙏prayers you continue your walk with god. It’s never easy. ❤
My wife and I just went to our first TLM last night and then this was in my feed today! We loved it, there weren't many people there, so we had to look around a lot to know when to stand/kneel etc.
Welcome!! It makes me so happy to see comments of people attending the TLM for the first time. There's a great book by Tan Books "Latin Mass Explained". And another book by Marcel Lafebve "Letter to Confused Catholics". I ended up at the Latin mass by accident from putting the wrong address in my GPS one day. God's plan not mine!
I also love going to Latin Mass. It is sacred to me as if you’re being transported in the foothills of the calvary during Jesus’ crucifixion. The silence of the mass is miracle to me that the time seems stop as you praise Jesus and the Almighty Father.
Pope St. Pius X said that the BEST way to spiritually participate at Holy Mass is to pray along with what the priest is saying i.e. read the missal and do the responses. But it's also ok for people to do devotional prayers like the rosary or go to confession etc just as long as they are present and aware when the time of consecration hits (which is one of the reasons why they ring the bell before consecration). Welcome home my brother:+) The TLM and Tradition are THE way to go:+) God bless~
Regarding this topic of the faithful assisting at the Holy Sacrifice of Mass it may be worth to read the encyclical Mediator Dei by Pope Pius XII@@BecomingCatholic
@@michelleishappy4036 Distracting for who? If said without speaking it should be ok. Our ancestors did this i.e. pray the rosary during Mass. As I noted, as long as you pay attention during the Consecration and properly prepare yourself to receive Our Lord, praying the rosary should be ok. I've heard it noted in several Trad circles as being ok. I would agree though with Pope St. Pius the X...that the Mass should be your focus:+) If you find any solid Traditional teaching against praying the Rosary during Mass please feel free to post. I would be happy to change my mind:+) God bless~
@@michelleishappy4036 Meditating on the Sorrowful Mysteries perfectly aligns the events of the Passion of our Lord to the flow of the Traditional Latin Mass. I can't find it online but I had a card that shows this. I read the prayers from my missal along with the priest but there's nothing distracting about praying the rosary if one knows how the TLM corresponds to the Passion.
Thank you for your testimony. It’s beautiful, just like our Catholic faith. Hope you stay on this journey because you will get to experience the richness of our faith. Give us this day our daily bread means the Body of Christ in the Eucharist. I love being Catholic! Thank you! Everything you said is very beautiful ❤
I'm so glad you both had a positive experience at the TLM. Just in case you don't already know this. We veil that wh/ is precious and sacred. Think Holy of Holies, the tabernacle, and our ladies b/c of reverence for all that women are in the life of their families, parishes, & communities. They bring forth life, nurture life, give stability to life, engender a care for others, etc. Thus the woman is to be regarded as sacred by the man. The veil is there to remind us all of that. There is a great deal more to it but that's the high level explanation. I have always, ever since I can remember, loved the centurion's prayer. Kneeling next to my Dad as he praying that prayer, in a whisper and w/ all his heart, had a profound impact on my faith. One I will always be grateful for! You are in my prayers Pax Christi!
It’s my first time watching your channel and I also attend the traditional Latin mass. Thank you for verbalizing the experience of the wonder the awe of attending a TLM. The TLM truly is the beginning of a rich spiritual life, one which I did not have while attending the Novus Ordo. My prayers for you and your wife, that you will grow deeper in love and in union with Christ. PS: It would be a lovely to gift a beautiful Chapel Veil to your wife as her spouse! Ave Maria veils have some really well-made veils 😊
Thank you for actually attending a TLM in person. I heard you mentioning online "tad"trads, and the truth about us is we're not really all that "rad" irl. The internet is a platform for getting a message out there, but nothing beats meeting people face to face and seeing what they're like as human individuals with families and work schedules, etc. There are internet trads who go overboard, and then there are those that paint us as schismatics - the truth is, as with everything else, not with either of those two extremes. the truth about us is that we're just people and the TLM is our mass. God bless.
I totally agree. And that the problem! The rad trads’ voices are just so much louder than everyone else. A humble traditionalist though, is not someone I would criticize.
As someone who remembers when the Latin Mass was the norm, then going to the 'New Order' of the Mass after Vatican II, I know full well what is meant by the congregation seeming almost on their own. People praying a rosary, doing their own prayers, the priest mumbling some words, the altar boys responding. Then the priest says "Dominus vobiscum", and everyone looks up from what they were doing and respond, "Et cum spiritu tuo", "Oremus", and the priest goes back to mumbling, the altar boys respond and the people go back to whatever they were doing. So, in an effort to make the Mass more participatory, they went to the vernacular (though Vatican II does say that Latin was still be used primarily). Great idea, not well executed (BTW, as an 8 year old, I had the Latin for the Mass down pat.) They sort of, unintentionally, threw the baby out with the bathwater. I especially loved the High Latin Mass, it was as if heaven and earth are so easily seen and felt during Mass praising God together.
I converted to the Church in 1998 from nominal evangelical Protestantism. I was in the Novus Ordo for almost 15 years before I was able to attend my first Traditional Latin Mass. I will be honest I was not overtaken by it at first. But I had many friends that were devotees and instructed me the the TLM is not something you attend once in a while and "get it." It's something you grow into. But once you do and attend diligently, it is very hard to go back to the Novus Ordo without being strick by the dramatic differences between the two. The Novus Ordo, save rare examples, is much more casual and Protestant to be frank. Many practices such as Holy Communion in the hand, female lectors/servers, modern music, etc. Are a jolt to the soul if you have immersed yourself inthe tradition of the Church. We also attend the Melkite Divine Liturgy which is my favorite of the Eastern Loturgiea. But you won't find the Novus Ordoisms there either.
But Jesus Christ is the same whether you attend NOVUS ORDO or TLM. He won't judge or condemn you whether you attend the Novus Ordo or TLM , Christ wants our hearts. MATHEW 5:8 - Jesus said "blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God".
@marymargarette4289 I was speaking from my personal experience and study of the development of the rites. The Eastern Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom and the Traditional Roman Rite (TLM) have developed from apostolic times. The Novus Ordo Missae was the creation by committee after Vatican II. It was a fabricated lituegy. It did not organically descend from Christ. It is valid and licit but lacks the other two qualities of Liturgy - fittingness and authenticity. That is why no polemicist for the new rite argues for the last two qualities of Liturgy. Only validity and licitness. If a person goes to NO and is happy, fine. I am not dissuading one from doing so. But in my experience and that of those that truly enter into the TLM it is hard to go back to NO. It seems like a step down.
@marymargarette4289 and yes, if a NO does the prayers properly Jesus is present. But too often in the NO it is done in a very poor, banal, boring, manner that does not conform with the teachings of the Church regarding music, theology, and tradition. Many if the modern practices implemented at the NO are contrary to our understanding and theology of Liturgy such as Mass versus populum (Protestant), Holy Communion standing and in the hand (Protestant), modern music (secular), new eucharistic prayers (modernism), lay (especially female) distributors Holy Communion (Protestant/secular feminism), total use of vernacular (Protestant), cheap vestments (1960s), etc. I have found the TLM is exclusively about God and re-presenting the Sacrifice of Calvary for the remission of sin. The priest is merely a minister. In the Novus Ordo the priest and congregation are the center. Ergo, the sing-song atmosphere with bad evangelical Christian tunes. Priests have to be fun and engaging because they are more in the focus in the Novus Ordo. The TLM is about God and Him alone. Not arguing but merely expressing why TLMers have a hard time going back to Novus Ordo and see all the abuse, banality, flippancy of it all. Granted there are places where Novus Orso is done very well, we have one here in Phoenix Diocese (St. Anne in Gilbert). But the priest used to celebrate the TLM and was planning on joining FSSP before he felt God was calling him to diocesan. Usually the best done Novus Ordo Masses are done by priest that have a great love for TLM as was Benedict XVI's point in liberating the Latin Mass.
@justinreany1514 Christ is the head of our Catholic church and the Church is the Body of Christ, He knows better than you; because Christ build His Church with the authority of heavenly Father and He gave the powers and authority through His Apostle Simon Peter also and it passes till now through the popes because the popes are the successors right from His Apostle which they continually preach the Kingdom of God and heal". Mathew 5:8 - Jesus said "blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God". Mathew 7:24 - Jesus said "every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock. 26] and every one who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand". Mathew 16:18 - Jesus said "you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build My Church and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. 19] I will give you the key of the Kingdom of heaven whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven". Luke 10:16 - Jesus said "he who hears you hears Me and he who rejects you rejects Me and he who rejects Me rejects him who sent Me". 22] "all things have been delivered to Me by My Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father or who Father is except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him". Mathew 15:18 - Jesus said "but what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart and this defiles a man. 19] for out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander". Mathew 18:3 - Jesus said "truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven. 4] " whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven". John 6:47 - Jesus said "truly, truly, I say to you he who believes has eternal life". John 7:24 - "do not judge by appearances but judge with right judgement"
@justinreany1514 that is why Jesus said where is your faith. I think you love so much about the tradition Latin mass but you forget that the most precious is the body and blood of JESUS CHRIST only matters to feed our souls.
In the Latin Mass that you attended, there is one part that is always said in Greek and that is the part where we say “Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy ,Lord have mercy”. That part is always said in Greek..

Family and I attend a TLM parish in an inner-city area. Been attending for about two years! The TLM is SO reverent. It is basically a continuation of the Jewish faith. Welcome home!
I think you made a very valid point. When we go to worship, it's about God and showing him reverence, it's not about our experience or what we think we're getting out of it. Some people will leave a particular denomination because "they didn't get anything out of it." That's really a shame. It's a very consumeristic attitude. We worship God because as our Creator we owe him praise and thanksgiving. Justice is giving someone what they are due.
Domine, non sum dignus,ut intres sub tectum meum, sed tantum dic verbo, et sanabitur anima mea. Lord, I am not worthy that Thou shouldst enter under my roof, but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed. ... Centurion of Capharnaum, spoken by the priest as he is about to receive Holy Communion.
Catholic convert here. Began my conversion circa 2002, received my sacraments in 2009. Learned of the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) in 2018 and transitioned to it fully that year. 0:58 There are different rites within the Catholic Church. Each one has its own liturgical and cultural distinctions. Us "westerners" mostly adhere to the Roman Rite. The Maronite Rite is another one. 1:02 Ironically, right now I happen to be researching ancestors of the spouse of one of my relatives... they lived mostly in Rensselaer and Albany Counties, and some of them were communicants at St. Joseph's! 3:11 Catholic parish churches and chapels were originally designed to be "heaven on Earth". Bad clergy have permitted deviations from that concept since the Second Vatican Council. 🤨 3:35 Each Catholic parish church or chapel has its own lighting peculiarities and practices, whether TLM or Novus Ordo Mass (NOM). 4:30 The standing, kneeling, genuflecting, praying, singing, offertory collections, reception of Holy Communion and altar server duties ARE the laity's participation. The additional participations that are seen in Novus Ordo Masses (e.g. "Eucharistic ministers", girls serving as altar servers, women doing ANYTHING in the sanctuary) are liturgical abuses that shouldn't happen. 7:00 Remember that non-Catholics have been maligning Catholics - and especially Catholic clergy - for hundreds of years. 8:25 Yeah, kids are supposed to be conceived after the marriage. The priest was poking the betrothed for doing things in reverse. The whole kids-before-marriage phenomenon seems to be a thing in Democratic states and counties. 9:48 That practice is called veiling. The basis for it is in 1 Corinthians 11. 11:40 Amazon and Etsy support various things that violate traditional Catholic teaching. 12:00 Just like Catholic church/chapel architecture is supposed to be "heaven on Earth", the same applies to Catholic liturgical music. There are strict guidelines for composing liturgical music, which have been completely ignored since the Second Vatican Council. Most of the "liturgical" music heard in most Novus Ordo Masses violates the aforementioned guidelines. 13:26 You hit the nail on the head. Protestantism wrongly emphasizes the "personal relationship" between Christ and the disciple, which sets up the disciple to "be his own pope". The (orthodox wing of the) Catholic Church rightly balances the personal relationship with the communal relationship, because the communal relationship is the relationship between Christ and His church (the Catholic Church), orienting the disciple toward obedience to the earthly head of that relationship, which is the papacy that Christ Himself established. 16:56 You're talking about what the near-Catholic Protestants call the Prayer of Humble Access. It comes from Matthew 8:8. The Prayer of Humble Access that some Protestants say has different and longer text but has the same intent. Here are the English and Latin versions of the Catholic prayer; the English is a literal translation of the Latin: * Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. * Domine, non sum dignus ut intres sub tectum meum, sed tantum dic verbo et sanabitur anima mea.
Wow thank you so much for taking the time to comb through the video and respond! I really appreciate it! There really is so much to appreciate about the TLM!

And I get a lot more out of any Mass .. especially a TLM , by just watching and maybe reading along for the reading. And yes.. veiling is beautiful to see
The “pulpit “ is called an Ambo. That’s so great that you were able to go to the Latin mass. I’ve never been but I’d like to someday. The closest to me is in Toronto I believe and I’m an hour or two north. I do truly love the novus ordo though. We have a Father Joseph at my parish as well. He’s a Filipino and extremely conservative. Every time he begins his homily with “Some of you may not like what I’m about to say…”, I know I’m going to love it. 😅 I bought a veil as well. I still haven’t worked up the courage to wear it. There are some women at my parish that veil so I’m not sure why I’m hesitant. At my parish we all say together “Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed”. You express yourself so well. I’m so invested in your journey. 😂 Catholicism is so rich, and beautiful. Looking forward to your next video.
I'm sure you will eventually find the courage to wear the veil. There's a wonderful youtube video called: The Chapel Veil. Several ladies discuss why they veil, and I found it inspirational. A short video but beautifully done. I"d definitely recommend it. I think I heard someone say somewhere, " we veil that which we love." I think that says a lot.
@@Sunshinelaura1 - There's no absolute need to wear a veil. It's optional private devotion. It's more important to trust Peter/the Pope. In any event I am not convinced it entirely fulfills it's purpose of getting women to stop thinking about their appearance and start thinking about God.
Thank you for sharing Laura! I didn’t know that! You should just do it! Even if you’re super uncomfortable the first time and it’s distracting. Once you’ve done it every mass after will be so much easier. Keep going!’

Domine non sum dignus... Good stuff. When I was Anglican we had the "Prayer of Humble Access" in lieu of it. I prefer the TLM and am very fortunate to have one close to me.
Love the story so glad you’re in the faith brother. Praying our Protestant brothers and sister can come back to the faith so we can be One Church again. God bless your family and your channel.
I went to Catholic sleep away camp and went to Mass daily, also Catholic school. Covering your head is in respect for women and a man removing a hat is respect.
The Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) is literally heaven coming down to earth. It is totally God focused not man focused and offers the greatest glory to God this side of heaven. I hope and pray that one day all Roman Catholic churches will once again offer the TLM as they did for centuries.
The thing that strikes me very much at the TLM is the reverence and love of silence. It allows you to truly be still in the Lord and enter deeply into intimacy with him. Novus Ordo Rite is marked by constant noise and frenetic activity. I found at the TLM I can just be.
Another thing to notice.. Is that the beginning of mass when the priest is saying the prayer of psalm 42 .. He asks God to show him the light. After the mass is ended- the priest reads the first part of the gospel of John.. Where God DOES send the light into the world. Kind of neat bookends Of the mass. This part of the gospel of John was added into the mass shortly after the council of Trent. It was something to do with countering a heresy about the divinity of God , Jesus , and the Holy Spirit from what I understand.
🙏🙏🙏 Get yourself the 1962 Missal. It takes a little time to learn the process & even participating in the Latin prayers but it is NOT impossible to learn. The Latin Mass is entering into PRAYER & SPENDING TIME WITH GOD. The whole mass is a prayer. The music is prayer & not just music to entertain us. Latin Mass is about Jesus NOT us. We go to praise & adore GOD & receive him through the HOLY EUCHARIST. WE BELIEVE IN THE TRUE PRESENCE. GOD deserves the honor & reverence that the Latin Mass provides.
My friend, the TLM is more than a "cool" liturgy, it is the closest we get to heaven while on this earth. Also, as a man I prefer the head coverings as well as it is less distracting. Some women show up to the Novus Ordo like it is a fashion show. Also, recieving our Lord Jesus kneeling on the tongue from the priest, just like Jesus told Peter to feed his sheep, beautiful. God bless you and your family.
@@michaelgardner835 I didn't say I was opposed to doing it that way. You didn't answer the question, however. You said Jesus told Peter to do it that way, but you can't back it up, because it isn't in the Bible.
Michael thank you for the comment. Betty, please offer Michael the assumption of good faith. He didn’t imply Jesus commanded Peter to feed them on the tongue and on their knees. He just said the Jesus told Peter to feed His sheep. Be kind.
As a Catholic, I have to admit that the most passionate people about Catholicism are new converts. The awe in their eyes and in the way they express all the newness of their experience is humbling. God bless you and your family.
I wish I can attend the TLM for once in my life. Iv only seen it on youtube and heard about it from my grandparents. The soul yearns for the holy and revererential. The soul longs for the Lord in the most quite but beautiful way. I attend the NO mass and itz only during Adoration that I could feel what True Worship is like.
TLM speaks to me more as well, however they don't have an RCIA program and so I have been attending a NO mass while I'm in the process of becoming Catholic. Ideally in the future I'd attend the TLM mass at least once a month and NO the rest of the time. (The TLM mass is also kind of far away so the time it takes to travel there and back is a concern.)

@@BecomingCatholic Hello! I am writing because I see you are wanting to become Catholic and therefore it would be terrible if you were tricked into remaining Protestant by joining the SSPX. The SSPX is not Catholic, it is a new Protestant schism started a few decades ago by a rogue bishop named Lefebrve. People from the SSPX will try to tell you that they are not in schism, but the plain fact is that five popes in a row have referred to the "schism" of Lefebvre in various documents, and Lefebvre is excommunicated. The SSPX will also try to say that they are necessary somehow because they are preserving "The Latin Mass" (the 1962 missal.) The truth is that there are many groups within Catholicism such as the FSSP and ICKSP that celebrate the 1962 missal. These groups have no issue of schism or excommunication. In fact, the ICK met recently with The Pope and he encouraged them to continue growing and expanding their work. If you want to learn more about the history of all this, I recommend you look up the author John Salza on UA-cam. Also, just so you know, that line you mentioned "Lord I am not worthy" is said in ALL Latin masses, not just the 1962 missal and I agree it is beautiful climax of the liturgy. Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum
Thanks for your story! The Latin Mass at St. Joseph’s (which was previously at St. Peter’s) nourished me during my four years at RPI. Oh fun fact, a good amount of those windows at St. Joseph’s are Tiffany windows.
Been to St Joseph...beautiful church. wondering if you went to a High Mass (Missa cantata)or a Low Mass. For someone not familiar with the latin mass, the low Mass is easier to follow. I go to an SSPX chapel in Nicholville NY. They have a small house church in Hudson Falls too. btw its Domine, non sum dignus ut intres sub tectum meum, sed tantum dic verbum, et sanabitur anima meum. Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldst enter under my roof; but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.
I'm a cradle Catholic and grew up with Novus Ordo Mass. My parents used to tell me about the Latin Mass, but at the time we didn't know they had begun offering the Latin Mass again. The first time I attended, I thought I was in Heaven. The Novus Ordo resembles more a Protestant service than a Catholic Mass. The Church has undoubtedly been infiltrated, but as Jesus promised, the gates of hell shall not prevail against It.
Novus Ordo Mass is not bad, its really help for the new convert to be Catholic especially for the church such in my place with our language. My spiritual experience when The Lord Jesus visited me - He was speaking in my language. The Lord Jesus - Himself who escorted me into Catholic Church with Novus Ordo. His message is about to have a cleanse heart. Bring our heart fully to be focus in The Holy Eucharist where The Lord Jesus among us.
It was Annibale Bugnini and 6 Protestants that created the new and so called improved Mass. It seems like a Protestant service because it closely resembles Luther's.
That church looks nice. If you like beautiful churches you should come visit the old continent :-) if you haven’t yet. Italy, France and Spain in particular, but also Britain, Bavaria, Portugal, etc.
There are extremely beautiful churches all over Poland that you could visit also. The altar in Saint Mary's Basilica in Krakow, Poland, where Saint John Paull II was, is the most beautiful altar that I have ever seen in my life!
Cradle Catholic here. My parish has both novus ordo and Latin Mass. I occasionally go to the Latin mass. I don’t think that people there are just doing their own thing. They seem to have the Latin missal and follow along with what’s happening at the altar. We usually pick up a booklet that helps us to follow along, so I don’t know about the parish you wenr to.
What you have to understand that when those churches were built, there was no electricity. The pulpit was built for the sermon to be heard with the acoustics. There was no sound system
Welcome home brother continue growing in the faith and continue sharing your story to inspire more to learn about , experience , and hopefully join the Church Jesus established 🙏
This is such a great video. Thank-you for sharing your experiences, especially about the priesthood and the priests whom you have met who so love Our Lord.
The homily is about the gospel and readings of that Mass. They usually put something “today” into it so it’s easier to understand. Not all priests are boring. Most of them are really personable. I love being Catholic. I have been my whole life. I left for a long time but inside I knew it was wrong. I grew up before Vatican II when all the Masses were in Latin. I miss it so much.
Have you ever attended a High Church Traditional Anglo-Catholic Mass ? Beautiful. I converted to the English Catholic Church years ago and I'm so glad I did.
Highly recommend checking out an Ordinariate Divine Worship Mass if you ever get the chance! Based on these last two videos, I think it’d fit you like a glove. 🙂
my family raised in maronite, lebanese. Its a beautiful liturgy. coming to UK in 2007, we discovered the traditiional latin mass which I feel is superior, richer and a better prep for the holy sacrament.
The Mass is in Latin but certain Greek and Hebrew words are retained untranslated, e.g., Alleluia, Hosannah, Sabaoth, Kyrie Eleison. This may be an apostolic tradition, as it is often done in other rites.
Oh and you should definitely learn Latin. Very important for a variety of reasons. You should know there are also non trad (Vatican 2) Gregorian chant Latin masses. Here in France at least but probably in the US too. I like your content, keep it up.
I've been a traditional Roman Catholic for years and only attend the traditional Latin Mass. I have several mantillas yet I have my favorite that I wear more than the others. 😁
So glad to hear about your journey. You might also like to experience Holy Mass at the only Ordinariate parish in NY state, St Alban's in Rochester. The Ordinariate was instituted (at first) for former Anglicans and is based on the ancient Sarum liturgy developed in England before the Protestant Reformation with some of the customs and prayers brought over from Anglicanism, but all 100% approved by and acceptable to the Catholic Church. A simple google search about the Ordinariate will give you all the info you need to check it out. God bless.
I find this revival of TLM fascinating. I am 71 and when I was a child at Catholic svhool the Mass was in Latin. Also all women and girls were required to wear a head covering. However, alto most of is owned a veil or two typically everyone work hats or scarves. 😮
Following along in a missal is a new thing brought in from protestantism many decades ago. Before that people kinda did what you described.. praying silently , rosaries, preparing for communion.. tjeres a video somewhere on this
Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
Yes, that is what we say at my Novis Ordo mass.

Watching Protestants rediscover their origin story is fantastic
I love videos of people discovering the Latin Mass for the first time. This has to be the best one I've ever seen. So well articulated.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Feel free to share links to other videos in these comments so others can watch them as well!

A Priest who says the Latin Mass is humbled by his role and in saying all of the prayers. They’re so much more rich and complete at the Latin Mass.
Nice comment.

Pope St. Pius X said that the BEST way to spiritually participate at Holy Mass is to pray along with what the priest is saying i.e. read the missal and do the responses. @@michelleishappy4036 Distracting for who? If said without speaking it should be ok. Our ancestors did this i.e. pray the rosary during Mass.
You are in my prayers

Thank you so much for the encouragement and the nice idea!
The priest was talking to God while the congregation was doing the same....

Here are the English and Latin versions of the Catholic prayer; the English is a literal translation of the Latin:
* Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
* Domine, non sum dignus ut intres sub tectum meum, sed tantum dic verbo et sanabitur anima mea.
Wow thank you so much for taking the time to comb through the video and respond! I really appreciate it! There really is so much to appreciate about the TLM!
@@BecomingCatholic You're welcome! If you ever decide to visit Middle Tennessee, let me know!
I am a protestant who has also had a recent head and heart conversion to the Catholic Church. I'm going through OCIA and as well went to a latin mass with a few of the guys I've become friends with. I had a similar feeling and growth about the lighting and the physicalness of the mass and prayer. Pray for me and the others I've gotten to know. Our first rite of our journey to be in full comunion will be on December 8th. Aka the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.
First time to watch your channel I love the way you are on fire for the True Faith especially Latin Mass how I wish you would be welcomed to Catholic Church through the Latin Liturgy I promise you, you would be overwhelmed the experience is way beyond.... all the same I wish you the best and may you grow more in faith to love The Lord and His Holy Church may Our Lady intercede for you and your wife 🙏🏽 NAIROBI, Kenya.
There is a book called "the Latin Mass Explained" by George Moorman, which explains all of the rubrics. It is eye opening and incredibly fascinating.
What a beautiful and moving testimony! I have attended a TLM in an SSPX chapel for 18 years now, and almost all of the Parishioners are converts. I am a cradle Catholic, and it is so inspiring to see my patrimony through your eyes.
Welcome home our brother and sister in Christ.
Tenete Traditiones,
God bless.
And I get a lot more out of any Mass .. especially a TLM , by just watching and maybe reading along for the reading. And yes.. veiling is beautiful to see
Like the physicality too God gave us a body and we use it to worship Him
The “pulpit “ is called an Ambo.
I bought a veil as well.
@ Thank you! I will watch that video. 😊
@@Sunshinelaura1:
I don't know where you live, but there are traditional Latin Masses every day of the week in the Diocese of Peterborough, northeast of Toronto .
“Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof.. “ It is said at every traditional Latin Mass, as well as said at every ordinary mass a.k.a. Novas Ordo mass. That prayer is said in both types- At every mass
In the tlm we say it three time, "Domine non sum dignum ut intres sub tectum meum, sed tantum Dic verbum, et sanabitur anima mea." Which is " Lord I am not worthy that You Shall Enter under my roof, but only Say the word and my soul shall be healed" in novus ordo is slightly different
Those are quite literally the exact words we say at NO masses, just not three times
@@MatthewDietrich-h6c havent gone to a NO mass for a while but I remember them saying "Lord I m not worthy to receive you, but only say the word..."
@@DaniloCatania-vm7nbI attend the NO. it’s the same as the TLM.
@@Julee-ft8qt good to hear, the more the bring the NO back to the TLM the better
They gave their best to the Lord Jesus a lot gave labour if they couldn't afford $ God bless and welcome to the Church that our Lord started. I found the Latin 15 years ago I love it
Awesome “testimony “. I hope you enjoy your journey with us in the Holy Catholic Church.
God bless Archbishop Lebreve and the SSPX ✝️✝️✝️
Very Cool, I schooled in Troy and regularly attended Saint Joseph’s but this was nearly 50 years ago. So glad to hear about your conversion story and how Our Lord introduced you through beauty to Catholicism through your videography of weddings. Awesome.
God bless, bro! I appreciate you sharing your experience and I wish you and yours every blessing. :)
Welcome to the Catholic church
It's an act of respect covering your head.
@@suegreene1 Also, things that give life are covered---The Blessed Sacrament, ladies' heads, etc.
Where did Jesus tell Peter to feed people on their tongues, while they were kneeling in front of him?
How else would one recieve the Jesus in the Eucharist? He is God and we are sheep, kneeling is the most beautiful and reverent way. God bless.
That's amazing news. I suggest that you do the Consecration to St Joseph by Fr Calloway.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Wonderful! So happy for you.The Tridentine Mass takes time to adjust to especially for converts.❤️🙏🏻
I definitely understand the difficulty of having the church you prefer be a little too far away
Welcome to Catholicism! If you ever come to Kansas please visit St Vincent or St Mary's. We would love to have you at our traditional mass. Read the book "Letter to Confused Catholics by Marcel Lefevbre. I am a convert and these churches completely changed my life. The people are so humble and kind.
I will keep this is in mind and I’ll be sure to visit if I’m ever in the area!
@@BecomingCatholic
Hello!
Long lost now found, returned to the Novus Ordo but was led to the TLM, a little piece of Heaven on Earth.
Thanks for your story! The Latin Mass at St. Joseph’s (which was previously at St. Peter’s) nourished me during my four years at RPI.
Oh fun fact, a good amount of those windows at St. Joseph’s are Tiffany windows.
God bless you, be prepared for the battle, but with the bless of Jesus, you two will prevail. I’ll be praying for you both. Welcome home.❤
Been to St Joseph...beautiful church. wondering if you went to a High Mass (Missa cantata)or a Low Mass. For someone not familiar with the latin mass, the low Mass is easier to follow. I go to an SSPX chapel in Nicholville NY. They have a small house church in Hudson Falls too. btw its
Domine, non sum dignus
ut intres sub tectum meum,
sed tantum dic verbum,
et sanabitur anima meum.
Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldst enter under my roof; but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.
Oh so cool! Thank you for sharing! I haven’t been to an SSPX yet!
Also, the Missal is printed in Latin and English so you can follow along age by page.
Great comment!!!
@@dentryn4365Yes, that's exactly what happened. Unfortunately, many Catholics are totally unaware of this fact. 😢
@@Sunshine-mf6pd True, we were never told when they changed the Mass as to who changed it.
I’d love to someday! I hope the Lord will make it happen!
@@RitaGatton True! I forgot Poland!
You’re doing good sir. You’re only at the tip of the iceberg. So many revelations will come to you so stay humble.
Also about the priests. Most priests are quiet and humble. They tend to be slow to talk and fast to listen. God Bless
Have you ever attended a High Church Traditional Anglo-Catholic Mass ? Beautiful. I converted to the English Catholic Church years ago and I'm so glad I did.
The Anglicans certainly have some beautiful ceremonies, but, sad to say, it's still Protestant.
Highly recommend checking out an Ordinariate Divine Worship Mass if you ever get the chance! Based on these last two videos, I think it’d fit you like a glove. 🙂
I’d really love to go! I will certainly take the opportunity if it came my way!
Praying for the Restoration of Traditional Latin Mass.

St. Joseph’s in Troy is beautiful. That was my first TLM experience and I felt the presence of God so strongly that day.
That’s awesome! Do you still live in the area?
my family raised in maronite, lebanese. Its a beautiful liturgy. coming to UK in 2007, we discovered the traditiional latin mass which I feel is superior, richer and a better prep for the holy sacrament.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! Really insightful!
Amen, one love brother God bless you and your family. Welcome home and it’s started.
The Mass is in Latin but certain Greek and Hebrew words are retained untranslated, e.g., Alleluia, Hosannah, Sabaoth, Kyrie Eleison. This may be an apostolic tradition, as it is often done in other rites.
The traditional Mass uses the three languages that were inscribed on the cross at Calvary.
Welcome and may God bless you and your family!
Oh and you should definitely learn Latin. Very important for a variety of reasons.
You should know there are also non trad (Vatican 2) Gregorian chant Latin masses. Here in France at least but probably in the US too.
I like your content, keep it up.
As much as I’d love to learn Latin, I probably won’t haha but I appreciate the tip about the V2 Gregorian Chant masses. I’d love to go to one!
God bless you guys! Hey just a suggestion find a SSPX Latin Mass near you. I think you guys will like it. Praying a rosary for you.. 🙏⛪️🫶🏽🇺🇸
Can't wait to come back to NY and visit these ones. Welcome brother that decision was a very brave step.
God bless.
I would love to go to an Ordinariate. If I’m ever in that area I’ll be sure to attend there!
I attend the traditional Latin Mass exclusively and I have so many comments to make. This is so awesome that he GETS it!

Before that people kinda did what you described.. praying silently , rosaries, preparing for communion.. tjeres a video somewhere on this
No :). Many Popes like St Pius X recommended using the Missal to actively participate in the Mass
May the Lord keep you and your wife strong in the faith.🙏
