I 1958 when i was 17 i broke two 45 combines in one field in one day ! Combining beans , cutting as low as i could i fed one a brick ! Cylinder did not like that . While that was being fixed , i hit a large rock that was half buried . That bent the header at the sickle bar up about three inches , we got it into a barn under a mow full of hay and put a fence post up to a beam in the barn , with blocks under ends of header and a jack under post we managed to force it back straight ! Boss was PROUD of me that day ! I ran corn into January of that season . I cut twenty acres of timothy seed with that machine , pulled my hair out getting that thing adjusted properly !
I've shelled a lot of corn with a 45 and 55 years ago and they were good machines and easy to run. I still have my old 95 corn special and put an AC 8x20" corn head on ! Keep up the great work and video's. It was a pleasure to see the old 45 earning her keep. Bandit
I really enjoyed watching the 45 harvesting corn ! Thanks for sharing!
Yes, an old sweetheart!
She’s getting very thin but it’s still a joy to run
Great video - love watching these old machines work! Grew up on a farm running a McCormick 151. I hope these machines never die!
They are fun to get out from time to time
They did really good and it was cool seeing the old machine working hard
Our first "corn combine" was a 1967 55 we got in early 1973, beat picking with the 227 and 50 sheller!
Id love to find a 50 sheller

absolutly beautiful to watch. Thank you .
My dad had a round back 45 with belt pickup head when I was growing up. Lots of memories! I have a 6620 now!
We also farm with a 6620 now
Remember days like that, it was cool even if not making $
I normally come out ahead until I buy more Deere items
Love your video! thank you for sharing, would love to see how you set it up
I’ll have to try to get something thrown together
Awesome 1 lol
Nice
Really making me feel bad now for killing our 45 square back
Some day she’ll be back out in action
