I wish you would do instructional videos. I just got into wood turning and have been watching a lot of you tubers and just came across your channel. You are so far and away better than anyone Ive seen. Its incredible how fast and precise you are. I haven't seen anyone manhandle the gouges like you do and take a square piece of wood and have it round in one or two passes all with a skew..crazy.
Really enjoy watching these, didn't watch it properly on FB so it was nice to see it here. I'm guessing that you pre-marked where the two center / off center positions will be.
Thanks Paul. No I didn't mark centers. I turn in normal center then put the tailstock center in the outside ring mark from my revolving cup center for the off center turning. No marking needed to get them all the same.
That must be one of the shortest (and most interesting) videos you've posted to date. Thank you very much. I could watch you work for ages...your economy of movement shows your mastery of this craft. Did I hear an Australian accent there? Are you in Australia or England? Any chance of spending an afternoon with you and a lathe?
