If I had turned as many spindles as I had bowl, I might come close to your level. I think I went to bowls after 2 spindles, and just fell in love with bowl turning. Nice to watch what you can do.
I have learned so much about the skew from you, Running your videos at reduced speed makes them great tutorials. Thank you for spending the time to share your turning mastery with us.
Great project, your tool presentation makes it look so easy, and of course, it is, after the years you have under your belt. I really enjoy watching your demos, well done!
I love watching you use the skew. I currently have two Alan Lacer skews with the curved edge. I'm going to buy a Thompson straight edge skew and practice with that.
Excellent as always Steve. It looked like it took you just as long to assemble it as it did with all the turning. Great job, I'm sure it will fetch a good price.
I could do this too...although it would take at least a full week of trial and error. (Emphasis on error) ;-) Not to mention all the scrap wood I would generate. Ha Ha, but that is how we learn. Thanks for posting this one. Your videos are fascinating to watch, try not to make us wait so long for the next.
6:57 Show off. Lol. Actually, I have learned so much from your videos, and I think it's because you are not talking or trying to sell me something. I've been turning for 3 years now, and you are a very good turner.
As an amateur turner I always look forward to your videos, their almost hypnotic to watch as you make it look so easy, a true master at the lathe. Is there a U.K. Distributor for Thompson tools or do you buy from the states. Pete
I love your work. I made a three legged stool for a charity auction and it made AU $360 however I put that down to the skill of the auctioneer. 3 years later I'm not sure you will read comments on this video anymore but I'm curious about your tenoning gauges. Are they commercially available or shop made? They certainly look safer than verniers that I use.
I’m really liking the traditional shapes, not many turners doing spindle work on the you tube so I’m watching all your videos
Thank you
What a beautiful little stool.
Wonderful work.
Fabulous video mate 👍🏽 👌
Thank you

Mike
Thanks Mike, your comments are appreciated

Thank you Bert
You just made me feel like I can make a beautiful stoll in under 13 minutes. Lol its beautiful, thanks for sharing.
Thank you
The best technique I've ever seen in a real time. Thank you sir!
Thank you
Thanks for sharing!
You are an absolutely master of woodturning.
Congratulations!
Thank you your comments are appreciated
As a kid I used one of these with 3 legs to milk the cows. Brings back memories. Beautiful, Thumbs up.
Thank you
Love watching you work Steve - another master class
Thanks Ed.
You are a flipping genius, like everything really clever people do it looks so simple, until the rest of us try. Thank you
Thank you, it's always one of the best compliments when someone says I make it look easy.
Maestro!
Great to see another video from you Steve.
All the best
Paul
Thanks Paul
C'est un vrai plaisir de vous voir travailler 😁 merci de partager ces moments 👍👍👍👍
Merci
absolutely stunning. I keep hoping you are speeding up the video... but the skill you have is just sublime! beautiful.
Thank you, as you will know all my videos are real speed other than sometimes sanding and assembly
A masterful demonstration, great job
Thank you
I love watching you use the skew. I currently have two Alan Lacer skews with the curved edge. I'm going to buy a Thompson straight edge skew and practice with that.
Thank you. You will like the Thompson Skew once you have got used to it. The steel is superb and holds a good edge.
soooo cute feeling like a child right now so excited, tnx a lot for sharing it with us :))))))))
Thank You, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Excellent as always Steve. It looked like it took you just as long to assemble it as it did with all the turning. Great job, I'm sure it will fetch a good price.
Thanks Paul, the assembly and waxing is as long as turning.
Very good video, love watching !
Thank You
Another great video by the master. I see you are enjoying that skew from Thompson Lathe Tools.
Thanks Johnny yes it is a good tool
Great job. Loved the video.
Thank you Dale
Such a skill, you should be very proud of yourself mate
Nice art work
Thank you
Magnifique travail, un vrai plaisir de vous voir travailler le bois,.
Max.
Thank You
As Kevin commented, can you put up a picture of your quick diameter gauge with some info as to placement and widths of notches, Thanks.
Thanks for showing your skills. Just curious...is there a danger in catching the tool in the stretcher hole? Seems dangerous....
Thank you, there is no danger of catching the hole

Thanks, I will try to post more often.
I'm slowly working through all your videos, one a day.
They are the best turning videos out there.
Thank you, I’m pleased you enjoy them.
Man u make it look so easy.
Thank you Wade
Super! I learn a lot from you! Thank you :)
Thank you
Muy buen trabajó maestro felicitaciones desde Colombia.
God you made that look so easy 😁
Very nice.
Thank you

Would you mind telling me the starting seat diameter and the length of the leg, including tenon?
Thank you, both the seat diameter and length of leg are 260 mm there is a cutting list at the beginning of the video but it disappears quickly.
I see it now. I'll have to convert it over to inches. Thanks again.
Awesome job. One to add to my list of projects. What angle is the holes for the legs drilled at?
Thank you, They are 15 degrees
A pleasure to watch, and at long last a "pillar drill" user, "drill press" doesn't compute with me.. lol...
Thank you
thanks for showing the progression or the steps in the order necessary
Thank you
Inspiring as always.
Thank you
Nice work Steve, what angle is your scrapers ground at?
Thank you, my scraper is 50 degrees bottom and 15 degrees top bevel
Very nice video, such skill. How far are the holes from the center on the seat and what angle do you use.
beautiful work
Thank you

Thanks you will need to buy from the USA www.thompsonlathetools.com

They are home made. Very easy just a slot cut in to a piece of sheet metal.
That's nice. I am going to try that
Thank you, enjoy the project.
Absolutely beautiful job!
Thank you
Master of the skew
Thank you
красиво и аккуратно!!!
Excellent...
Cheers...
Thank You
good job,man !
Thank you
nice!!
how many degrees do you sharpen you,re skew chisel?
I’ve never measured it I grind freehand to what looks right but it’s approx 30 degrees included angle and 15 degrees skew
@@woodturner21 ok thanks , do you change it for hardwood or do you keep it the same?
I keep it the same
Beautiful
Thank you
Nice work Steve. What is the bevel angle of your skew?
Thanks Don, an approx inclusive angle of 30 degrees.
Ture master!
Thank you
Does anybody know what angle that jiggies for the angle of the legs..?
It’s about 8 degrees
Thanks for that info. You do some lovely work so amazing.
Thank you
OMG IM THE FIRST TO SEE THE VIDEO!!!!!
LOL thank you
Molto bello complimenti
Thank you
I didn't see what you did with the little cap that you turned.
It was glued into the screw hole in the bottom of the seat. It is shown during the speeded up part of assembly
what tree you are using and what color you are using
skew master
Thank you
I would be glad if you answer
Give me chance, it is Oak and no colour used it is natural wax oil.
