Most Nuzlocke Challenges here on the UA-cams are completed in a single video. But back in the early days of Nuzlockes, they used to span severl videos: giving you a chance to truly feel for the Pokémon before they kicked the bucket. TO recreate that feeling, I have decided to play through every Pokémon region with the exact same Pokémon. All of the ones I catch in this version of Leaf Green will eventually make their way to Paldea, assuming they survive the trip.
Oh yeah, and its a Hardcore Nuzlocke, because why not?

Maybe there were no puzzles set up in Victory Road, and Blue put them there just to screw with Red

Love this. Although I’d consider a clause that a surviving kanto mon can be traded for a comparable mon from future gens, so it’s not exclusively kanto mons only for 9 runs. So the number of encounters remains the same and trades can only be for mons of similar typing and stats to keep it fair.
That's not a bad idea. I have already completed the first few regions, so if I decide to do something like that, it won't happen for a while at least.

That’s true, but I’d just have to start with the national dex. You’ll see next week how I transfer over the Pokémon, so it won’t be an issue

When there are games where pokemon aren't transferrable, please make it so they don't spontaneously combust and can be used in the next game they're usable in.
of course i also recommend making them their basic forms when transferring, but that's obvious. good video!
Actually, as long as the Pokémon are in the national dex of the game, they will be brought over. And don’t you worry about them being fully evolved: I’ve taken care of that.
Beedrill is honestly decent against Misty, Erica, and Sabrina. I think it is actually underrated in RBY/FRLG.
Because of the anime, I have always like butterfree more. But beedrill can actually be pretty useful for sure
@@NuzlockeJoe yeah those are probably 3 of the hardest gyms too. Also a toxic/poison immunity from Koga helps
I'd hate to break it to you but drowzee is a Tapir and Hypno is a proboscis monkey,, not an elephant.
Sevii Islands encounters: Ponyta and Magmar
I actually did consider the sevii islands, but it’s been probably a decade since I’ve played it, and I didn’t want to be blindsided and lose any Pokémon I had
I just thought that Ace would die to a Machamp for no reason but plot relevency

so... basically we already lost one full type for this challenge... thankfully it isn't a fundamental one. But still gengar would've been amazing in later gens
I guess so. Of course, there is one Pokemon I have who can evolve into a ghost if he survives long enough. We’ll see though

Btw shouldn't you have the chance to capture someone in Cerulean Cave?
I could be wrong, but in the remakes I think cerulean cave is only open after going through the sevii islands, something I didn’t want to worry about

Yeah they would be. My big thing is I haven’t done them in over a decade, so I don’t remember much about it. I could get new encounters, but run the risk of losing ones I already have

The next video is out of order, because I wanted to keep the two gen 3 regions together. I did the johto run in the remakes, so it made sense to do that after Hoenn.

Sorry, I was mistaken. It’s actually mGBA that I use. Vba is what I used as a kid, so it’s the one I remember the best

Interesting idea, too bad you won't get to use any of the other gen mons to spice things up. Also, how will you count games where you can't acquire certain mons, or there's a potential encounter overlap on a given route/area?
Yeah that’s the downside to doing this, but since kanto is my favorite, I guess it’s fine lol. There won’t be an issue of not getting the same Pokémon, because I transfer them over directly
If this series does well and I have time, I have another regional idea that would introduce newer gen Pokémon, but would be quite a bit more difficult than this.

How selective are you being in terms of Galar and Paldea compatibility?
I have a general idea of the Paldea Pokédex prior to this upcoming dlc of course, but galar I’m not actually sure how many of these guys are in it. If they are in the Pokédex, I will transfer them over. Assuming they are still alive…

Why not? I know the kanto remakes better than any other games, and this isn’t a mono type or anything. So doing it with minimal or no deaths only requires a bit of luck and skill
