I haul hogs and cattle. 3 bags of flake shavings is usually sufficient. In below freezing conditions 4-5 bags plus a combination of plugs or panels to help block the cold air from the animals should be used. The shavings will also make the trailer wash out easier. I've done that exact same run for Mike many,many times. Happy trails, stay safe and keep the shiny side up!

My whole childhood my Dad had a 79 Pete cab over and that is all I knew.The best sleep I have ever had was in the sleeper of that old Pete with my head up against that padded back wall and the sound of those two smoke stacks burning fuel.I still think all trucks should be cab overs cause that is where my heart will ALLWAYS be.Thanks for the good show and very nice Rig you have.

When I was a kid we had Monfort of Colorado, Yes The Circus Wagon Co. which made the left lane Famous as the Monfort Lane 3 drivers running non-stop from Greeley to NYC 2 a week now it's JBS as well.

Them super 10s ain't no joke. They're a beast. The operator that taught me how to drive learned on a super 10 hauling milk in non baffled tanks. Dude could shift ANYTHING butter smooth.

I’ve been trucking for 32 years now. Out of those 32 years I hauled a cattle pot for one month. Make no mistake. Trucking is in the blood but cattle trucking is for a very rare breed and very very few have what it takes to be a bull hauler.
Why? Just cause bulls are hard and dangerous to handle?

Been very dry here in Eastern Kansas almost 6 inches below normal and it's been 4 months since e have had any rain hopefully it shows up on monday

Daddy,Mamma and Pappa started out driving truck and at 85 my ole man is still hauling cattle and pigs
Mamma just retired from trucking and has a retirement check of $3600 a month so Timmy u are correct You have to want to make money and keep after wat market or load boards ur getting loads from.. I make over $9500 a month and yrly income after paying insurance fuel and D.O.T tags and permits is usually over $110,000. I'm out on that road 4months off 2weeks on 3 months and off one week and back at it for 4 months. Then take 1month off for repairs and all that good stuff

Cattle Hauling the last Cowboy
The longer the cows are in the trailer the more weight they loose. The way you haul them is great because I have seen haulers driving like they were unloaded and trowing cows or pig or what ever their hauling. I dont know the rules for your loads but we was told not to put hay in the trailer because it added weight.

Glad Tim your having fun with that inter cab over. My favorite cab over was the k100 aerodyne. As for your fld friegtliner, I'm retiered Canadian military and I drove friegtliner 475 cat 21 speed road ranger and later on friegtliner c15 exert twin turbo 21 speed fullers. My favorite trucks. Hauling 72000lbs leopard tanks there was nothing better cheers.
This truck is a marvelous one I can guess it turn heads every where
Attitude determines many things, negative is always a bring ya down and being miserable plus other folks don't want to hear it either. I know for a fact that I bring others down around myself as I am a cripple and it reflects out even when I try to stay positive. I wasn't always like this and it hurts me to think I fell that far. I do miss trucking bad, I even miss mechanicing more

We run the wood chips (saw dust) in the cattle pots. Really just depends on what you’re hauling. Pigs need it, some dairy’s require it. Usually put some down for calves as well. Pigs I usually do 10 bags. Otherwise 4-6 bags if they want some.

I’ve made buckets of money hauling cows.
Some of it was misallowcated. I don’t have any plans of quitting soon.
Here in Canada we put salt in our wagons to keep the mess from sticking to our floor for 5 months of the year. A little work and a pick, we can get pretty clean.

I use 6 bags in the trailer 2 on bottom 2 on top one in the nose and one on the assend

Great driving and glad to see u have a heart alot of cattle haulers dont unfortunately and nice climbing on that hill its amazing how well a truck works without a stupid governor on it also nice cb i had to chime in about all the negative drivers and people in the trucking industry its been my experience that most of them are not o.o. they are company drivers ex or current that all the negative stuff to say they are also broke because if the tires aren't turning they ain't earning

Sawdust is mainly for swine and the random plants that require it.....I'd be wary of putting hay down since the shrink will get in it and might cause you some problems, I'm doin 4.8-4.9 on my x15 but they have tq limiting built into the ecm, you can watch the tq run up to 100% and then drop down to 75-80% on the dash once it gets to lugging on a 655/2250 tune but that's why it's geared at 4.13 in the rear on an 18......still walks past the door dummies on the hills

We just run cleats on the floors of our cattle trailers, there is some slip but it’s limited. And new builds must be fitted with slurry tanks to prevent it getting on the roads and stinking up the towns.
