The Edsel was way ahead of its time, too good for a dumb, unappreciative public.

People can say what they want about Edsel or Packards. Just try to find cars like that now days that had that much class. I would take Edsel or Packard over a Camry or Accord any day

Great story and great find! You boys down south are so lucky, this car would be dust to the wind up here in the 'rust belt'.

I purchased a 1960 Edsel 2dr in better shape than yours in driving condition for 100 dollars a few years ago. It was the 82nd 60 Edsel off of the Assembly lone

I've never seen an Edsel that didn't have the 0val grill. That looks like a 60 Ford from the side. Rare car.

Sam, keep us posted on this restoration. There's a really cool option you don't see on most 60 Edsels. There is one in Miami with dual rear radio antennas. The antennas where incorporated into the chrome trim on the rear fenders. The antennas were angled to the rear, and gave the car such a cool look.

She went across the street one time to see Lady Bird and Mrs Butler and the President and Roy were having a pissing contest off the front porch. She was horrified. Not because they were pissing off the front porch but because he was President at the time. lmaoo. Yes the Butlers were good people. Oh one more story. She told me when Packard quit making cars "Daddy" had to go to San Antonio to buy a Lincoln. I said why?? Because Roy Butler was a Democrat. Those were the days. They loved the Butlers but Daddy wouldn't buy a car there.

I love the rear end of a 1960 Edsel. Those fins & lights are so well crafted. I can't recall seeing a four door sedan version before, only coupes & softtops so I gather this is a rare shape of an already rare model. Being in Texas as certainly helped preserve it. Loved the video.

I take it you bought it off from Bama, probably for less than four grand. I tell you this, if I had the money and the garage space, I would have already contacted you to purchase it. Thanks for offering it though.
You know, for 90 million bucks, Roy Butler could easily have paid to restore every single Edsel ever made!
BTW, have you, or will you make a video about that '62 Chevy that I see in this video? Keep these videos a comin'! I'm subscribed to you with instant notifications.
