@OmgBriz I figured out what happened, the first day of the new chapter, everyone's consoles were crashing but the next day a new 700 Mb update fixed it
I keep my Series X elevated off the ground. By putting a little circle container under the stand which is permanently attached. This allows more air to flow through the bottom of the console. And I personally never get overheating or randomly shutting off due to overheating. It's also a day 1 unit.
Dust. Takes about 20 min for a basic, take the back off clean. But if you've had it for more than a year and haven't, you'll be shocked. Even if your living space is pristine. Unless it's an airtight lab the Series will find dust and will keep it
@@causeithappensmy series x keeps overheating, i thought it was bcs dust but i opened the back and cleaned the heatsink and took out the fan and cleaned it too, there wasnt much dust tho and it still overheats, is there more to the cleaning process?
Yeah no it did not fix the issue. Tried cleaning, deleting games, deleting captures, turning off captures, power saving mode, blowing a big house fan on it, unplugging, restarting, moving the xbox, and more. Oddly enough its the coolest when I boot up microsoft edge of all things. I can watch youtube i guess but thats not why I bought an xbox. I thought for sure that this would be the one because I had capture issues before but idk anymore.
Same here so I took apart my series x comes to find out the ventilation was blocked with dust you should try an clean it an if you do decide to take it apart use a key 8 screw driver
My Xbox as started kicking me from games and a message keeps popping up telling me the Xbox is blocked and needs to cool down. It needs a good clean out inside. I’m going to ask the store where I got the Xbox from if I can open the back up and clean it or see if they say I have to just exchange it seeing as I have a year left on the guarantee
Thanks. Fortnite is the primary culrpit. For those with the same issue, I have noticed that the system shuts down if you linger in the lobby where you and your squad are all waiting to ready up. I always switch the tab to "quests" where the gpu is doing the least work. If I leave the game on the ready up screen it will overheat and shutdown.
Xbox always was known for having poor hardware quality vs sony! Speaking from experience also with not just those times with 360 but also series s when it came out. During 2020 covid period first one i had did randomly shut down. But this got different pros than the ps5. Is that it has the ability to play games that arent native supported on it. Through browser based cloud game streaming platforms like geforce now boosteroid xcloud amazon luna. Through the microsoft edge browser. Saw some days ago a video on youtube of some guy playing world of warcraft on it with mouse and keyboard through the microsoft edge browser
sadly it's real baldurs gate 3 keeps telling me I'm overheating after just a couple mins into character creation and I did a total breakdown deep clean so now I'm trying these ideas too see if helps if not then it's new thermal paste
This video is bull. Its overheating because of poor circulation and dust. Spray all over your xbox with a air compressor to get all the dust or if not use your vacuum and place the xbox where it can get good air ventilation. Cold + no dust is all your xbox wants
Naw there is more to it . Hardware/software issues or something. Mine just started shutting off and says it overheated and it's not even warm.. sometimes won't turn back on for like 24 hours
If your Xbox doesn’t need dust cleaning and the fan won’t turn on makes sure to restart the console from settings, then wait and download a game till it forcefully turns on so you can then get rid of it for something else.
I have series s and ps5. My ps5 overheats and shuts down by itself. But my xbox is going good so far.. I blame poor design and extremely poor optimization from Sony and Microsoft
I got the G-story fan since a week now and MW3 zombie mode hasn’t crashed for a while now, I’ll keep you updated if it keeps it like that. And good thing you can custom the G-story fan by a more silent one like noctua apparently, cos it makes a bit of noise.
@@jimbot7300 yep it crashes way less, a bit noisy tho, but if your console used to crash like mine, it solves most of the problem, it’s very rare it does now
@@jimbot7300 i even ordered a noctua silent fan but the connector aren’t the same unfortunately and I’m not acknowledged enough to know which I should weld instead
Its not total bs. Unfortunately there's a lot of bs things you gotta do to keep your Xbox from overheating. Wanna know what caused mine at one point? Having NHL Installed. I did some digging and realized, the console keeps a "quick resume" version of the game on the console because I play be a pro. Anytime I close it and reopen, it brings me back to exactly where I was as if I didn't close the game
My new Xbox should not doing this, Microsoft needs to get there shit together
Same any fix?

800$ 6 months and it’s over heating my og Xbox still works amazingly

That’s good advice thank you. This is my first time doing it. Go to the Settings don’t-capture was overheating.

I had the over 90% gb problem thanks for video ill now keep it below 90% 1:07

Still overheating this device man
Room teperature dude
you need to replace the thermal paste and clean it out completely
1 other tip is that you could probably clean it out Cause all that building up dust could cause it to overheat
When your Xbox overheats will it make it more laggy?
more likely to decrease fps and performance so it might feel like your lagging
I can play any game but 2k every time I open 2k my game cut off
Hopefully this video helps my friend out because he says Xbox is overheating every day

My same way my xbox series S pretty old 5 years I think thermal paste dried up in xbox I don't wanna mess with it
I would say your memory or the cpu is over working maybe you need more memory or try to find another way to save data in storage devices
