When you say thin set- what do you mean. What goes inside it? I am in india and looking to do a random pattern mosaic ceiling from broken tiles and glass. I don't know what type of cement to use that would hold it up well enough.
Basically thin set is a type of concrete mortar special made for tile. We buy it in bags here in the U.S. at the local tile store or a building supply. I hope this helps.
@@mk-jm5tv I beg to differ, It is not cement board, it is Hardie Board. I have spoken many times with the Hardie company and they assure me that it is waterproof. I have done several of these over the years and have never had a problem.
Thank you you made it look so easy. I was always worried they would fall off. The trick is in making the thinset-thicker 😅. Thanks
You are welcome. Glad I could help
my ceiling grows mold, time and again, I will put tiles on the ceiling, thanks for this video.

Yes it does help. No other adhesive substance goes into it right? I will go to the building supply person here. Thank you.
@@malavichaudhari8771 Yes, no other adhesive goes into it. Be sure and mix the thin set by the instructions.
Thank you so much

did you at least water proof the floor? I see you didn't water proof the walls. do you still have access to this shower?
Yes, the floor was made with a mortar bed and using a rubber membrane.
How come you didn't waterproof the walls?
I did. I put plastic behind the hardie board and hardie board is water proof.
@@doityourselfdenniscom cement board is NOT water proof. use hydro ban in the future.
