Wanted to check out fralin pickups, so I figured the company channel would have the best examples. WRONG. The audio sucks, frankly. The video poor quality. Please buy the inexpensive irig pro from ik multimedia, a $25 mic stand, an sm57, and a mic cable. Heck I've got one I can send you. Takes 10 minutes to set up and the audio quality will be MUCH better. My iPhone 6s takes better video, so please ask to borrow someone's phone, plug the irig pro + mic into the phone, and the video/audio will both be that much better.
Samuel Peinado Lindy makes VINTAGE flavored pickups. He takes his job seriously and makes some of the best at any price as a result. This attention to vintage detail, however, does carry a side effect. Namely, modernity in his presentation and some business practices. He got a functioning website less than a year ago (the new site is great, Lindy! Thanks for making it easier to buy direct from you 👍🏼.). My point is, Sam, baby steps. The mild inconvenience is well worth being able to call the shop any given afternoon and talk to the man direct. Hell, I once spent 20 min with him discussing ride cymbals! As an added benefit, you could close your eyes, order any random pickup off his (now very modern site), hook it up to damn near any chunk of wood with a jack and a string, and you will not be disappointed by what you hear. That's not hyperbole, ether. I got drunk one night and did exactly that. So, yeah his demos don't do him justice. But, I'd bet even money that if you called him up and offered politely exactly what you just did in the snarky comment, he'd send you something in return that'll be a damn sight higher quality than your end of the swap. Until then, Lindy is an exceptionally nice guy so, there's no need for the tone, he's better at it, anyway.
Hey Sam, Thanks for the love and feedback - we're working on getting some newer videos together and sound clips for the site! You're not alone! Thanks for your patience.
uh, he's too busy making great pickups, and that is what you are buying...the pickup, not his videos. sound quality here is better than many...ie not the worst but not the best either.
