Do not buy S22 Ultra if you want a good camera. Whenever I try to take a photo out a window, it focuses on the dirt on the window and not the object. Same when I try to take photo out of a screen door. It takes photos of the screen and not the object behind it. When I try to take photos of planes flying by, it's all blurry cause it thinks I'm taking a photo of the sky or clouds. It also takes 5 seconds to take photos in the dark. It's the worst camera I've ever seen. I bought it thinking since it's a flagship phone it must have a great camera but It's basically a $1400 Polaroid. I have to buy a separate camcorder now. I hate Samsung.
I personally have to disagree with you. I take a lot of pictures with my S22 ultra and I never had a problem. 1. Problem: It could be that you have the focus enhancer activated (little yellow box in the left corner) which helps to take close-up / marco shots (would explain why you take pictures of the windows instead of the landscape) 2. Problem you faced: the 5 second exposure time in the dark ( little moon icon in the bottom right corner, which pops up when you are taking fotos in the dark) is an optional setting which is enabled by default. Explanation for the 5 second duration: You camera can only register a certain amount of light in the camera. The long exposure time (5 seconds) helps your phone, inorder to register more light even if it's dark. Therefore you can take pictures that are well lit with even little light. All of the problem you have faced are optional features. Just turn them of if they bother you! I hope I was able to clear up your misunderstanding. 😁

I was hoping that Samsung would bring more options to the 108mpx (by making it available in Expert Raw, for instance, or allowing the user to hold the phone still for longer so the HDR becomes as good as in binned mode). If you have a tripod, you can: - take one photo in Expert Raw; - a second one in 108mpx; - upscale in Photoshop the one from Expert Raw; - merge both together. But it is time-consuming! Our S22 Ultra could do something similar through the software. We would get a high-quality photo from Expert Raw that could be enlarged as needed. And we *should* have this option.
I noticed that the new Lightroom AI denoise algorithm doesn't work with this phone's recent DNG files. I went back to RAW photos I shot in December, and guess what? Those RAW photos can be denoised by the new LR algorithm! After digging deeper, I realised that something happend in between. Most likely, a firmware update screwed things up. When analysing the EXIF data, we can clearly see that the new DNGs are not uncompressed RAW anymore, but Linear RAW with embedded JPEG compression. This explains why LR AI Denoise doesn't work on these files anymore I suspect that the problem started sometimes in April, when Expert RAW was added as an option inside the default camera app, in Pro mode. Expert RAW always had these linear RAW files (since these are HDR DNGs), and I suspect that when the two things were combined, the Expert RAW DNG generating algoritm replaced the original RAW algorithm. Not good. Also, as a side note: The x3 and x10 sensors have 10Mpix native resolution (3648 x 2736), but the outputs of Expert RAW and the regular camera app in photo mode are 12Mpix (4000 x 3000)! So Expert RAW is upscaling the output of the x3 and x10 cameras. This is not what RAW files are supposed to do. It only confirms that the DNG is in fact a JPEG file in a DNG container. I also checked an older S10 5G. Guess what? It outputs uncompressed RAW. Probably because camera Pro was not altered by Expert RAW, since it is only compatible with S20 and above! What a shame!

Thank you for all the tricks, your video was very helpfu but I couldn't find a solution to my problem. Let me explain, I'm a tour guide and whenever I take pics with large groups I notice that the ones on the edge of the frame are always blurred and distorted and I don't know how to fix it... this thing is driving me crazy! Please help 😢
PH Snapdragon S22u variants have very grainy and soft photos for the 10x telephoto lens after the last November patch update. This wasn't so when we first updated it from android 12 to 13.
Not sure how I can help with that without seeing the images or how you're taking the pictures. If you're not able to get good looking pictures or video in good lighting there is either something wrong with phone or how you're using it.
That tip about changing the portrait effect afterwards is kinda useless. Even on Android 12 you were able to just revert back to the original and the option to change the portrait effect would come back. Now they just basically do this for you. Not really new.
the shapes and holding for a second to make a perfect shape doesn't seem to be working for me! everything else i tried along with the video did, great tips!
What I don't like about the watermark is that you can change the name of the phone which opens the door for even more fake camera comparisons. You CAN'T do that with Xiaomi's phones. You can customise the watermark a little bit more but you can't change the model of the phone which is great. Samsung should do the same.

Sadly my S21 Ultra takes better 3x, 10x and 30x zoom photos then my recently purchased S22 Ultra
