great boat, but the whole point of an airboat is so there are no low hanging rudders to get caught on stuff when you run something over. keep up the great work man you are great motivation for me!
Yup, airboats are steered with multiple rudders mounted behind the propellers. With the flat bottoms they can even cross short stretches of swampland that are slightly above water level, as long as their are no obstructions that can rip out the bottom.

Everything is so simple if you break it down step by step, I feel like if you gave me all these materials I could now also make that boat, great video I loved it!!
The hull design seems to be a limiting factor. I'm no expert, but a slightly bigger and flatter hull would make it more efficient, IMO. Also, if the motors were made to pivot, you wouldn't need a rudder hanging below the bottom of the hull. Or have rudders behind the props like a standard airboat. I like the build, though. I spend too much time agonizing over measuring and fitting when I build stuff; this guy seems to do a lot just eyeballing things.
A good seaman KNOWS how to tie a proper knot...the ends of the steering line should never be frayed...apart from that, very good...[from] a charter yacht skipper...the pic is of my '72's vintage ferry.

Nice work! However, the whole idea of an airboat is to go in very shallow water with weeds. Your rudder prevents that. The propellers could be wired to run only the outside on one side only to steer. OR, wire in the ability to reverse one side or the other while staying in forward on the opposite side. Lose the rudder! Manage the airflow to steer the boat.
One day he will pull out a jumbojet from under his table or any corner of his shop, it seems to be like the bag of santa, just endless amount of space and stuff
@Creative Channel you do not need a rudder system, because you have 4 banks of 2 controlled fans per switch, all that you need to do is, turn on the fans on the side opposite of the direction in which you want to go (the fans will push your boat in that direction you want) and turn off the fans on the other side, and now lets just say that you want to go on an angle, you would turn on 3 sets of fans (2) on the opposite side in which you want to head to, and (1) set of fans on the outside for resistance.
Quite creative, but I bet when he fires all those little props off simultaneously it will sound like bumblebee mating call on energy drink. Looks like all aluminum construction. Wondered how he welded that 1/4" hot rolled steel rod to the aluminum frame? Perhaps I missed something.
Fantastic! I like it! 22:50 But why did you replace the switches to the automatic circuit breaker? I would built into the electric ciruit a digital voltmeter to see how strong the battery is.

Apparently those are 150 watt motors which at 12 volts would draw 12.5 amps each. 8 motors will draw 100 amps.
