As others have said, this was their first MV and the opening track from their first EP, Deep Indigo. They were still very much figuring out their style/direction and the rhythm section was almost entirely programmed, with the exception of some bass parts. This was before they started to gig, so Kanade hadn't yet been approached to support them and Wakazaemon hadn't been contacted either. The MV was shot on a shoestring budget, they basically booked a holiday home/airbnb for a night and there was only one camera/production person besides the band themselves. But I agree it does a good job of showcasing the members personalities and interactions. There's too many MVs where po-faced musicians take themselves too seriously even when the music/video storyline doesn't require it. Their 3rd EP, Come See Me, will be released on November 20th and further down the line there's meant to be a Bluray being released of Hazuki's birthday gig from back in August. Li-sa-X, Kanade Sato and Wakazaemon will also performing with Mr. Big's Eric Martin in Tokyo on December 18th for the electric portion of his BIG Night show (with the setlist they basically get to pretend to be in Mr Big for the night, will be interesting to see how Waka-chan gets on with playing Billy Sheehan's parts).
I like it, but I think it just goes to show how the addition of Kanade's drumming to the band has opened things up since this song. They're now on such a higher level.
This was their first MV after rebranding as Koiai. They were still deciding whether to try to build a full permanent lineup. Then of course they brought Sato-san on board, and now with Waka doing bass duties (for now) they are simply out of this world. I love this clip because the vibe is so playful but they still rip.
The music I listen to is mostly Rock & Jazz Fusion oriented. This band suits me well as I already was a fan of Kanade, Lisa-X and Hazuki/Nemophila. Kotono fits well as their vocalist. I am aware that Kanade likely didn't play on this track.
The first time I heard this band was here and I was impressed, it was that jazzy number. This was too Pop for me, but once the duel guitars come in and start jamming, you're reminded of the talent, they can play.
