What??? That is really crazy! Never knew about this set and wouldn't it be something to find one of these at a yard sale or estate sale. My eyes are peeled and on the lookout for this set. Keep up the great vids JBCoinsinc. Much appreciated.
How can you clearly identify the SMS from other coins other than just the color and shine? Also, if someone got ahold of asset not realizing you value and it got into circulation could the grime from years of being circulated cover up that shine?
wow .i found a 1964 d with d so close 9 touching each other the D mint mark touching the 9 its al;so a double die please let me know an idea how much its worth today.i have never seen something like it before. thanks
Yes I find your videos extremely helpful and interesting my father used to say half hours and dollars coins for me unfortunately while helping one of my older brothers out they robbed me of a jar of coins that my dad has saved for me and I’m sure they just cashed it for the money but I do have some left but they’re not the real old ones you can imagine as a coin collector how upset that was for me but yes I do love your videos. 👍
I believe I possibly have a 1964 SMS penny that is in question in this video... I would be interested in sending in a picture if you were interested in looking at it?... Unique thing that I noticed about my penny is can you flip it over to look at the reverse instead of the reverse seeing straight up and down when you flip it over the reverse is actually printed at least 45 degrees off to the right instead of straight up and down when you flip it... So unless you're specifically studying the penny you don't notice because it's literally the opposite way that it should be... Let me know if you're interested in receiving a picture?... I appreciate your sign... I am new to coin collecting and I'm trying to determine if this is something I should send off and have graded or not?... Thank you once again I look forward to your reply...
I have one of each of the 1964 coins! This was the year I was born . My father save a set for each of our birth years! They are not graded but are in very good grade! What should I do?
1964 of course is a special year. That said I would love to come across some of these SMS sets thanks to you I will keep my eyes open even wider now thank you
My friend pulled a bunch of coins from his attic and he has a set of uncirculated coins from both Philadelphia and Denver could they be the special mint sets?
Hello thanks for your videos out of all the different one I find yours to be what I am looking for straight to the important parts but I have this 1964 d mint it's unlike any other coin I have seen the finish is amazing and need more help it's everything like the sms with a D
I have had this 1964 pennyfor a long time now. It is so shiny. But I looked a long time ago about it and couldn't find anything on it. I didn't put it in anything to protect it. I just found it again tonight. It's not as shiny and new looking as it once looked before. But it still is so different than any 1964 pennies I have ever seen. And now I find out about the sms . Geesh... Now... If I only knew what to do now..?
I possess a coin set that has been described in your video. It is a 1964, cent through half, no mint mark, packaged in a sealed plastic holder. It is further packaged in a blue thin box with print stating, "UNITED STATES SPECIAL MINT SET". How can I tell if this set is an STS set? I had it stored with a '65,'66, & '67 set.
JB 1964 rare? I'm dumbfounded right now because I have a 1963 SMS Lincoln in mint state condition. Is there a way for me too screenshot you the pics? I'm actually shaking right now with excitement.
i think i may have the special strike 64 jefferson nickel. no mintmark. 20 years ago i imported a hamilton mint silver collection to australia and found the coin in a yellow envelope uncirculated, no scratches and satin finish presents beautifully, it has been in my possession for around 20 years
Shirl Bussman I have this set too! Mine is in a hard plastic-ceramic case with all coins 1964. Other people have these coins in soft-loose plastic wrap. Mine has the COA that came with it from 1964, I don’t know if the platic wrap version has one but if you have the set you should be good; even having the COA helps! The set is worth $15k - $20k from what I read in the 2018 red book coin collectors guide.
Have 64 half and thought could be SMS but coin collector made up something supposed fact with me and went on some path. 64 error and great possible grade in first place and be grade material personally think.
So with what your saying would it be impossible to find one coin roll hunting? I had no idea that there was not a special mint set in 1964! That being said I found a nickel that pretty much matches the criteria you just described full steps, razor sharp strike, satin toning, bye far the most beautiful 1964 I have ever found and you know, for how many there is they are usually demolished this coin is absolutely sharp what do you think?
