I have a very good shape 1974 no mint mark Kennedy half that looks very close to a proof mixed with satin finish. Got it in change other day..I’d post it but idk how.
Great video........ I sure am glad you stated how rare these coins are to find and obtain..... You said it right at the end when you said Can't find these in pocket change...... Even going thru mint and proof sets they are hard to find. but possible.....
It’s interesting that some of the SMS sets ‘65-66 no longer have the original envelopes that must have come from the mint. I can’t help but wonder whether or not some coin dealers cherry pick sets and individual coins before putting their coins up for retail sale. Hmm, just makes me wonder... Another helpful video. 👍🏽
i have never sent anything in for grading but i have what i think is a nicely toned, really good looking 1964 kennedy half dollar. however my coin dealers said it would not be worth sending in for a grade but im curious if i should just pay $30 & send it in myself anyways?
Daniel, what about a Top 10 Kennedy Halves to search for in coin-roll-hunting? These MS/PR 67s on up will certainly catch the eye and be obvious keepers, but 99.99% of halves will be MS60 or lower in the $500 boxes. Out of those types, which ones should we keep our eyes peeled for?
Hi Daniel, I have a 1964 Kennedy half dollar that's never been out of its holder it looks beautiful, and also have the quarter-dime& nickel but it's in my dad's velvet case they were given to me at two different times.i finally got into pcgs grading should I send them off to be graded? I am going to put pics of them on our group plus some other ones I want to send off to be graded and get your option first.
Can't say to send or not based on images alone. All you can really do is give it a try but it's hard to get the grades in the video, they're the top 10 for a reason.
The history of these coins is fascinating. The mention of finding that '64 that could be called more than uncirculated, and in a deceased mint employees ex-possessions, means there are more like this. They will appear in due course.
@@CoinHELPu Maybe another one due to the same reason this one was found. Must be more mint workers that brought one home? Perhaps another will surface in due course. This particular coin is almost stranger than fiction in any case.
Daniel I'm not very good with these coin websites and apps. What's a ms 67 1943 s over s mercury dime look like. I found one real nice coin and I cant seem to get a very good up close look. If you could do a video to help it would be greatly appreciated.
I came across $ 5 face value of JFK'S Half Dollars one of them was damage from the previous owner doing a Silver Test with the acid. Is there a way to fix the black spots with out creating more damage. Or is the Numismatic value of the coin is destroyed for ever. I hate finding coins with the black spots on them. If it can not be fixed is the Numismatic value gone for good and is just face value now. Also if can be fixed would it still hold Numismatic value or it is just face value from now on.
Yeah I have a 1964 and it has the flat rim and the doubling on we just not the teardrop on the 4. I'm keeping it til I can get it looked at at a show or send to graders.
I think I just bought an ungraded 1964 from someone who sold a whole series of kenedy. 64 65 66 67 68 69. I payed around 8 dollar each. holy crap. the 64 looks exactly like the one you showed with the same quality. This person has an account for 13 years on a webmarket place and sells all kind of stuff besides coins....
I have a proof set 64 that was made after the sms with same di . You said proof is a finish and my 64 proof is satin:) finish !! If it's a special strike then it shouldn't matter what package it come out of !! My 64 was made after with same di
@@CoinHELPu it's a dull reflection is what I mean!! matte was poor word choice (satin). But to think they struck those few coins and retired the di in 1964 is not realistic . All the goofy stuff that has happen at the mint !?! Putting a sms in a proof set is wayyy down the list of unbelievable things to happen. But I think brutal honesty is always best that's why I watch u and sub . I'm not stubborn Ik I could be wrong but I wouldn't lay odds if I was u 😉
@@mattrix4650 It is realistic, the mint has destroyed many dies over the years and the 64 sms wasn't supposed to exist. No one knew a thing about them until 1991, no one ever thought their 64 proof or business strike looked special, now since the Internet and YT videos a bunch of people think they do. However, not one has sent them off and been correct. So I am not interested in looking at the coin. I've been here at least 200 times with people, gave them a chance, and they're not SMS OR retired SMS dies, and they can't afford or just refuse to send them off. So it's a moot point to me. If everyone was correct they wouldn't be that rare.
Depends on the state and if the dealer is claiming taxes. We charge sales tax on non silver and gold, but they just passed legislation so we will have to charge sales tax again.

I'm tired of spending my time watching what if videos. These can't be found as you stated so why not let us know about the ones that can maybe be found. I was at my bank and asked them if they had any Kennedy's and they told me no they're really hard to find. Chase Bank is taking out the silver ones in quarters. Almost impossible to find anything any more.

I have a beautiful Kennedy 1964 proof accented hair. It has tiny milk spots otherwise gorgeous any chance of grading. ?
It should grade with milk spots but they do distract from the coin.
Daniel, should it be legal for mint employees, like Director Eva Adams, to take coins like the #1 here home, to profit immensely later on?
No, it shouldn't. I think the mint should give them gifts each year that they can sell though.
@@CoinHELPu I heard that Eva Adams kept other rarities from the mint. Another being some ultra rare SBA dollars. This doesn't seem right to me.
