NEW COOL SYNTH from Cherry Audio that is a wonderful replica of the Moog Memory Moog that came out in 1982. This synth truly sounds fantastic! This is a very accurate recreation of one of my favorite synths I could never afford!! You can buy one used starting at $12,000 or get this instead (retail of $59).

Purchased. Cherry Audio makes fantastic synths. The PS-20 is amazing, and this new synth sounds stunnnnning.
I agree Joe👍👍
Testing time. I loaded up 4 memorymodes concurrently into voltage modular hosts, all driven by a NDLR with lots (maxing bout) polynotes on the pad and drone channels, and arps on the two mofit channels. Plus a heal of random, galcial changes 6 controlls on each synth. CPU load did not get past 22% (intel i7 with 64GB ram). So that's a good sign.
@@docjoesweeney Finally a plugin I can recommend to my friend who has a budget ThinkPad laptop with basic specs! Going 50/50 with him on the new Humble Bundle. Gonna be sweeb
All the cherry stuff is amazing, and priced extremely fairly
at 3:15 close your eyes and the Moog spirit is there 100% AWESOME!!!!! Thank you Cherry Audio for this tremendous best VST!
This sounds amazing finally buying today
Thanks for the vid and for the Unified Version. Playing with some layers in Unify. This thing is like a wine that pairs with any food. Memory Mode plus MM Pads 2 OMG!!
"This is the synthesizer that I wanted badly as a kid, oh my gosh, I'd go to moog and read up about it, go to youtube and see videos about it. It came out in '82 the year I graduated high school".
LOL! I get the feeling that you're trying to describe to the younger audiences but, those of us who remember 1982 we're laughing, thinking how there was no moog website to go to, and how 1982 is 23 years before UA-cam even existed!
CA2600 got me hooked on Cherry Audio and this was an instant buy after demoing. It sounds fantastic and is great to work with. Cherry Audio is doing really impressive work!
I bought Elka-X and Sines and they are brilliant both have really unique sounds especially Sines...
What an Amazing Sound it's like an Earthquake. It blows you away! Just played for half an hour with Dramatic Poly in Combination with Shim and Hustle on the left hand. OMG my Neighbours what will they think. My opinion... This is the best of Cherry Audio's seperate synths. Just try and you have to buy!
Dammit John! Now I got no excuse for not buying yet another synth vst 😩 Thanks a lot. 🤪
SAGA! I loved that band. "On the Loose" popped up in my head when I heard you mention that band. Ha! 80'S nostalgia.
Awesome John, thank you.
One topic one video - awesome
I'm sure that the hardware version sounds so much better that it's worth spending another $12,500 on... No, this is a great demo and I'm sorely tempted to buy a copy. One of the originals can be seen on UA-cam in the video of Bowie's Serious Moonlight show from 1983. Which makes it ultra cool.
Welcome back my friends.
This synth was famously very unreliable from new, so it’s perfect for a software version.
I remember I was going to buy one in 1998 for 1200.00 USD but backed out because it lost its patches when I went to see it .
I really wanted to buy it though.
YES Skip, John its an Amazing plugin and the QUALITY is 100% super sound like their OB-E and in combination whit UNIFY as i listen to it on my AVATONE PLANAR headphone ist a a must have as well....this sound its To PRO MUCH!
I own a lot of original synths, not a Memorymoog, but can hear that VST's have come a long way, I will order this and use it in my productions... very impressive and nice demo, thanks!
Arturia makes great emulations too. A couple of them may not be very stunning but you'll find something you like. I got V Collection 7 and it's been heavenly, going well with my Komplete 13, Puremagnetik, Unfiltered Audio, and Glitchmachines plugins.
Great video skippy!!🔥🔥🔥
Very good job on explaining the background story behind the Synth. Really cool
Thanks for a cool review 🙏
so you're know I'm buying this synth because of your video!
Even if this is not the original we don't care the sounds are very good if we give ourselves the time to program a little to your liking.
it is very light in cpu consumption so you can create incredible multi combinations with Unify, which the original Memorymoog really can't do.
I had a polymoog and micromoog long time ago but never had the financial resources for a memorymoog .But today yes !
and with Unify the pleasure is increased tenfold
Thanks a lot John
HAHAHA the first minute was pure gold 😂
I picked this up immediately. This is one of their fattest and best synths so far. I have a few and they vary in terms of cpu and the filters. I put this one to work in a track im working on. Sweet basses and pads. So many presets to go through still and play with.
Just bought it even though I'm over budget for this month... Totally worth it though... ☮️🔥
I love your videos and patches, but could I ask in future if you could give consideration to mentioning if things are wind-controller friendly. We are not all keyboard players - and I would love to use your Unify in a wind-controller scenario with my Roland AE-10 !!
Hey John- man, that thing brings back memories! had the pleasure of working with the Moog Modular System 55 at Albany State back in the day (early 70's). Are you still limited to the 16 voices when using it in Unify? Or is each layer a separate instance?
Oh no my friend - you could use PolyBox to make a 128 voice Memorymode patch if desired.
🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏
wow the GX-80 sounds fantastic but I am way more impressed with Unify, have been asking LOGIC to do this for years......well done.
I feel that bass in my tummy and it's yummy 😋!
Beginning sounds like VNV Nation :)
Are they better from their Arturia equivalent plugins?
Download demos and try them - the one that sounds the best to you is the best for you.
The Arturia is bloatware and 3x as much $$$ cause they use the same effects panel in all their VST and u don’t need that I’m giving CHERRY MY CC NOW!!!‼️‼️‼️✅✅✅
I have V collection 9 and love it! It has amazing sounding synths and i own 10 Cherry synths and they are every bit as good and then some. Either way they work well together.
1:24 6 minimoogs in one box?
If I buy a real Memorymoog, I can kiss my marriage goodbye (as well as any financial security, lol). If I but the plug, she won't even notice or care!
Too little Memorymode, too much advertising!
LOL - thanks!!! My channel, my business. Hope you enjoyed the FREE information.
@@PlugInGuruVideo what an intensely boomer response 😂
I'm generally not very impressed with the products from Cherry Audio. Arturia is doing a much better job when emulating old hardware synths imho. Anyway thanks for demonstrating and saving me some money. :)
Not sure if you did Will, there’s a free demo version you can download and try for 30 days. This might be more impressive than you are giving it credit…
Arturia is decent, at best. But far from doing a great job imo and they charge a lot and the CPU consumption does not reflect the quality of sound in my ears. U-he and Synapse (fair to include Omnisphere?), is a much better option than Arturia for me.
This Memorymode sounds quite alright for 39bucks for sure!
Most of Cherry Audio's products aren't quite a perfect 1/1 emulation, but they're still really good. They give you a great representation of the vibe of the original hardware for an extremely fair price point. It's really not that important to me that it's 100% identical. A lot of original Synths had limitations that I'm glad to see have been removed or improved in software versions. As for Arturia: they make good products for sure, but they are ridiculously over-priced.
TBH there's not a single Arturia plugin that I liked... I got V Collection and always end up just using NI Realtor cuz it sounds better
@@andyk9735 Well, they aren't cheap, but not overpriced. I bought Pigments 3 for 99,- intro prize and Analog Lab 4 for almost nothing, which they upgraded to Analog Lab V for free. And they sound gorgeous.
