I agree. Jango obviously would have had a full kit stashed away for his son to wear, fully intending to still be alive into Boba's adulthood. That spare kit was from Jango's old days with Jaster's faction so that's why it is shares the color scheme. I also think it highly likely that Jango would have taught Boba about the civil war against Death Watch and would have respected his father's wish for Boba to carry that sigils of his lost heritage. I completely agree with u on this theory and believe that boba’s armor is a completely different set then jango’s,Because if u look at the jet pack in the empire strikes boba’s armor has several differences then that of jango’s,for example his chest plate has a cut out and boba has that device.also on his helmet there’s a bolt in the bottom left half. And in regards to his fathers helmet I feel like boba loves his father to much to blow up his own helmet because in attack of the clones he presses the helmet to his head to remember his armor.so in conclusion I’m just gonna say that boba buried his father with his full armor just putting is head in the helmet or the helmet on top of him.and later got a similar helmet and from killing another mando or just buying one.Because if u look at jango’s helmet in the clone wars it looks like boba shot the helmet and the blue paint looks painted.
What I remember in some comics I believe is that he wore his fathers armor for some time but feeling like he was feeding off his father’s reputation and just coping him he decides to reforge the armor for himself which is why his armor is different than his fathers while still being the same. Being painted in the colors of a young Jangos armor when he was a mandalorian warrior along side Jaster Mareel.
I believe that older Boba is using his father body’s armour. But that he did destroy his dad helmet, during the clone wars. So either the helmet is a spare one he had or it’s simply another Mandalorian helmet.
I really enjoyed this video! You gave us great insight and information that I really appreciate and found interesting. Plus it does explain why Jango’s silver and blue helmet is even shaped differently than Boba’s. I’ve always wondered about that.
So jangos armor is still buried in a dusty cave on genosis, Or did i miss something? Also the leg armor is likely to have been stolen from boba fett when he was less experiensed and perhaps got inprisoned.
Personally I like your theory but another thing I could think about is maybe jango just had a set of armor prepared for boba since he was a kid (but obviously they’d be the same size grown up)
I could see maybe Boba using a replica of his father's for the trap. And keep the real armor locked away. However I really do love your video. Very well done. And the theory is a really damned good one. I've liked and subscribed. Keep up the good work
Jango's dent is slightly more on the top and is less of a circle. It is a weird choice to put it so close tho. I guess its possible it was supposed to be the same dent, but when when see Boba in Empire, the dent isn't painted which suggests it happened while the armor was green (which coincides with the unfinished Clone Wars Episode). But yea I personally think it's probably supposed to be Jango's armor either way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As big fett fan and mandalorians fan this is a good sound theory that works.persoanly never believed it was jangos blue version always though my self yeh it's one of jangos sets like blasters u have a few around .
Full disclosure: I built a 501st-approved Boba Fett ROTJ suit so I paid attention to the details. I am curious on your take on the differences in jetpacks. I know that between ESB (green) & ROTJ (blue/red/yellow/white) the new comics have Boba stopping off because Han is “melting” and he needs to get him fixed else he will die. During that stopover he fights as “Jango” in an all-black painted suit which apparently can easily wash off. The change from green to multicolor between the two. Interestingly though, Cobb Vanth has the multicolor jetpack which is also seen in The Mandalorian/The Tragedy. I can only assume that Boba repaints it green when he restores his armor.
In Legends, beskar, ships, and art were the mandalorians' main exports to the point that the hippy mandalorians got pissed at the warrior mandalorians because they went off to play merc and made only a small fraction, and they wound up leaving classified technology all over the battlefield when they died. Like they would sell base line armor made of beskar, but stuff like their software and the cool wrist shit was considered military secrets thay fortunately for the galaxy, the empire was never able to understand
BTW, the comic miniseries from Dark Horse Comics that you mentioned was good. I recommend it to anyone who isn't too caught up in the new Disney canon. Like the video commented, it seems that in regard to the Fetts Lucasfilm is attempting to blend the two story canons.
Why is there yellow paint under the green paint on basically every figure of Boba? Where did the yellow come from? The animated part of the holiday special?
In fairness, there are changes to Fett's armor between Empire and Jedi as well. Seems to me I heard that this wasn't just an oversight, it was done intentionally to show the armor as a WIP that Boba was always improving upon. I do like the idea that Boba would have chosen his basic look based on that of his father. By the time of the Mandalorian/Book of, Boba still chooses that style over the Jango armor style we saw in AOTC, so maybe he doesn't feel his skills have earned that rank yet?
The problem here is that armor can be reforged and modified over time also I'm sure Boba recovered some of the shards of the helmet along with the thigh and greeves there is enough material to make a new helmet. The Armorer likely isn't the only person that can forge beskar and Boba was very well off. The only part that really matters is the chain code attached to the armor which is how armored is traced.
Anakin was aprehended by jango in the droid factory. Obi wan would have probably told him everything that happened on kamino. Clone wars is making a bit of a stretch trying to say anakin doesnt know who jango or boba was.
We know for a fact beskar can be reforged Sabine says this in rebels the helmet could have been reforged into a new helmet from the very same beskar jangos helmet was made of every canon piece of material we have says it’s the same armor so it is the same armor
Didn't Boba literally say it was his father's armor in the Mandalorian? Pretty sure it was when Din was challenging his right to wear Mandalorian armor.
So i get that boba isnt a mandalorian but didnt they say jango wasnt a mandalorian too? Which he would technically be a foundling (i guess if the comics its legends not cannon but still)
jango was a mandalorian, but it appears at some point, he became disilluisoned with the culture and went off to do his own thing. keep in mind he was taken in by the mando army, which they all ended up killed except for him, losing everyone he knew. after the mandalorian civil wars, mandalore became a pacifist world, outlawing its warrior ways, under the rule of Duchess Satine Kryse(Bo Katans sister), so warriors like jango were no longer welcome in their society. after the clone wars, mandalore tried saying jango wasnt mandalorian but it was just shady politicians saying this(prime minister Almec).
On a side note boba may not follow the mandalorian religion, but he certainly acts and moves like them. So I’d say practicing the mandalorian”way” or not he is mandalorian by birth.
Mandalorian says differently. However, i've always thought he had his own armour, which is actually mostly bescar (ulike his father's) he pretty much wanted to complete his fathers legacy, by supporting the ones who were apposed to the jedi, so he got beskar somehow (everything in Star Wars is based on "somehow" deal with it, somehow the rebels got the deathstar plans, somehow, somehow the Stormtroopers miss, jedi can use the force, stfu) because he wanted to have revenge, then order 66 happened and he kinda farted that...
I love Star Wars. I just don't understand the need to explain every in-universe detail. Especially when someone can come along and say "it's no longer cannon".
The Journeymen Protector insignia doesn't make sense, in regards to the armour being Jango's. Jango Fett was never a Journeymen Protector. His father was, and Jaster Mereel was. It only really makes sense if Boba served as one for a time, as he did in the EU. Seeing as that's how the insignia is earned. According to the current canon, it's a massive continuity error. It's a good thing that I don't care for the Disney Star Wars timeline, as I have a greater interest in the old EU. Sidenote: Also the changing of Jango's/Boba's armour from Durasteel to Beskar was an interesting decision, in consideration to the writing of the show.
Boba for the longest time did not consider himself a Mandalorian .. where would he have gotten the armor? Killed a random Mando and took it from him? Thats just stupid. I don't care what the mouse says it is his fathers recolored armor.
The helmet getting blown up in TCW is just one of many examples of Filoni not caring about continuity. He will piss on anything just to tell the stories that HE wants to. He’s such an overrated hack.

The helmet he blew up was from deathwatch, and the same suit was used in both trilogies. So I'm sticking with it's his father's armor, just repainted.
So jangos armor is still buried in a dusty cave on genosis, Or did i miss something? Also the leg armor is likely to have been stolen from boba fett when he was less experiensed and perhaps got inprisoned.
Boba armor looks like it went through centuries wars
Personally I like your theory but another thing I could think about is maybe jango just had a set of armor prepared for boba since he was a kid (but obviously they’d be the same size grown up)
I could see maybe Boba using a replica of his father's for the trap. And keep the real armor locked away. However I really do love your video. Very well done. And the theory is a really damned good one. I've liked and subscribed. Keep up the good work
In my head cannon, Boba reformed the leg pieces to make a new helmet.
Mando armor seems to be modular, pieces are damaged, I would imagine Jango had spares from over the years. Stuff gets repaired, repainted. Etc.
Your theory sounds good to me, based on the pieces we see get destroyed. 👍🏼
What tipped you off, the fact that the design of the armor is completely different?
You can also lean about the backstory to bobas armor while reading the boba fett books they made back in the 2000s
Good to know! Great video!
Young Jason holding his mother's head in friday the 13th same story line 😅
Then why do they have the exact same dent in the helmet? 😂😂
What are you tslking about? Of course it is. Its in the lore Canonically.
Boba literally wears his fathers armor.
I like your theory. Thanks!
The armor boba fett had was dura-steel not beskar as it was already mined to exhaustion and few to no mandalorians had actual beskar armor anymore.
As big fett fan and mandalorians fan this is a good sound theory that works.persoanly never believed it was jangos blue version always though my self yeh it's one of jangos sets like blasters u have a few around .
What kinda bothered me is the fact it was so easy for Boba to dispose of Jango's old helmet, when the former seems to be sentimental type
According to the chain codes, embedded in the armor, it’s the same armor.
This makes sense. So it is Jango’s just not the one we thought it was.
I tend to believe this theory rather than the usual belief that Boba just repainted his father Jango's silver armor.
It canonically is confirmed as the same armor
In Legends, beskar, ships, and art were the mandalorians' main exports to the point that the hippy mandalorians got pissed at the warrior mandalorians because they went off to play merc and made only a small fraction, and they wound up leaving classified technology all over the battlefield when they died. Like they would sell base line armor made of beskar, but stuff like their software and the cool wrist shit was considered military secrets thay fortunately for the galaxy, the empire was never able to understand
I think your right. It's an older version of Jango Fetts armor.
BTW, the comic miniseries from Dark Horse Comics that you mentioned was good. I recommend it to anyone who isn't too caught up in the new Disney canon. Like the video commented, it seems that in regard to the Fetts Lucasfilm is attempting to blend the two story canons.
It must be that the helmet blown up was a replica, because Boba Fett's helmet has the same dent as Jango.
Why is there yellow paint under the green paint on basically every figure of Boba? Where did the yellow come from? The animated part of the holiday special?
unfortunately current 'canon' says it is...
Clearly different. I think ur right, it was Jango's older armor
Great video!
We know for a fact beskar can be reforged Sabine says this in rebels the helmet could have been reforged into a new helmet from the very same beskar jangos helmet was made of every canon piece of material we have says it’s the same armor so it is the same armor
Jangos helmet blew up in the clone wars
Didn't Boba literally say it was his father's armor in the Mandalorian? Pretty sure it was when Din was challenging his right to wear Mandalorian armor.
Boba Fett is my all time favorite as well!
Boba literally explained it in “The Mandalorian.”
The grunt armor works for BF
Who doesn’t know this by now
So i get that boba isnt a mandalorian but didnt they say jango wasnt a mandalorian too?
@@TwinEnginesOfDestructioninteresting that he didn't end up with deathwatch or one of the other clans
@@danv4513 well death watch killed his parents, so he killed their leader, tor viszla
@@JunkyardFox ahh i did not know that. You got recommendations for which comics to read
@@TwinEnginesOfDestruction*during the clone wars
It’s been Modified by the Current wearer!
This, in my opinion, is NOT Jango's armor. Jango NEVER had hand plates
On a side note boba may not follow the mandalorian religion, but he certainly acts and moves like them. So I’d say practicing the mandalorian”way” or not he is mandalorian by birth.
no wonder Boba never forgave Mace
Mandalorian says differently. However, i've always thought he had his own armour, which is actually mostly bescar (ulike his father's) he pretty much wanted to complete his fathers legacy, by supporting the ones who were apposed to the jedi, so he got beskar somehow (everything in Star Wars is based on "somehow" deal with it, somehow the rebels got the deathstar plans, somehow, somehow the Stormtroopers miss, jedi can use the force, stfu) because he wanted to have revenge, then order 66 happened and he kinda farted that...
Boba literally said it’s his father’s armor.
Not Bad but Jango has lost her jetpack several times. For example in game Bounty Hunter.
My Brother loved Boba too 😊
I love Star Wars. I just don't understand the need to explain every in-universe detail. Especially when someone can come along and say "it's no longer cannon".
Likely Jango spare armour
It's probably Jaster's armor
So what ultimately happened to Jango Fett's armor?
Did you even watch the video? It’s explained there
This makes sense to me
buddy the helmet he blew up is fake jango helmet did not have a dent in it
to be fair jango armor isn't bescar it durasteal.
They refit and repaint to they're needs
It is a nice therory. However, all legends contenet is not cannon.
It’s clearly not the same armor. At all.
The helmet getting blown up in TCW is just one of many examples of Filoni not caring about continuity. He will piss on anything just to tell the stories that HE wants to. He’s such an overrated hack.
