      Leave your house for a couple of days just as pins are barely visible and they will show up . The mushrooms love to surprise us to play hide and seek so play along. In nature the grass allows them to hide almost in plain sight until they become to big to hide any longer and they say here I am look at how many spores I can eject and how far I can spread myself in the wild wide open spaces of the prairies before returning to the confines of the subterranean underworld to gather and plan the next adventure into the light.

      @@CraftyDollYou literally just saved me!!!! I can’t tell you how freaking much I’ve researched this new hobby of mine. Bought everything, prepped an area in my house which took the longest because old home, literally anything I could afford that I needed- I bought! From reading shroomery website to watching every tek available, I knew I wanted to do this tek because I already had the 20qt blue latch lid containers. I’ve hesitated to even start inoculating grain, which has probably now sat in the fridge to long🤦‍♀️. All because I couldn’t find anything on where to drill my FAE holes on the 20qt box. I’m too limited on money to screw entirely everything up! You just don’t know how much help something as simple as your comment not only answered my question, but also put a smile on my face! Thank you for sharing the knowledge! If you happen to see this comment and don’t mind me asking a question, I was wondering how you covered your holes? If you used the stick on filters, do you think the micro-pore tape would work the same? I do plan on buying some of the filters later on down the road. I lost my sister 2 weeks ago so all my hobby money has been shifted to help her kids pay everything. I do have some polyfill also, if that’s something that you think would work better? I’m just so freaking thankful I didn’t start drilling 3 inch holes all around the boxes. I had a feeling that 1-1/2 inch would be better suited for that size box, but I also know there are many other factors to consider like temp, humidity and all that. I figure the less I don’t the box, the less I’ll mess with it, because I can get to obsessive with my plants. It’s just really hard to not overdo it with such a degree of varying information out there. Thanks again and I’m writing your measurements down now! Stay blessed mush-doll!❤🍄

    Micro pose is a company that cares about the realistic needs of there costumers from what I can see. Build something that people need that doesn’t exist and you will be successful. Perhaps some cultivars need more fae or gas ex. I think there is something to gain from every tec or from every one whom has been blessed with this hobby. We all interpret the various tecs differently and teach them differently so I think it’s up to us to sort through them with patience and diligently because that’s exactly where the jewels of mycology lay.

My seed mat somehow got set higher then I usually have it at(85F) and after a few days of that temp, the bottoms of all 18 of my jars a half inch up were dried out. 5 of them caught contamination right at the bottom. 6 are doing nothing at all 16 days later, and 7 of them are already done colonizing. Lol you can see a visible color diff where it dried out the grains. Just a warning, the mat can get wonky and mess EVERYTHING up.

    😀 It would be great to get some advice from you! This will be my first time growing mushrooms. My rice bags are colonized, my substrate is ready, and I've equipped myself with the same monotubes as yours.
    Could you please confirm just 2 things:
    - You don't change any parameters between the colonization phase and the fruiting phase? As a result, fruiting starts automatically without fresh air?
    - Have you seen identical yields with your intervention-free method and the "standard" method?
    Thank you 👍

    • @LarsLarsen77
      @LarsLarsen77 Рік тому +1

      It's pretty important since if you don't have a gasketed lid the air will just flow under the lid and not through the filters. It will dry out sooner. That said, you can use regular tubs unmodified, which is worth a shot. If there isn't enough airflow just flip the lids over and if thats not enough twist them a little

    I have this exact tub and I am struggling with it drying out during fruiting. Am I supposed to just latch this lid on and let the filters do the work? I have the lid flipped right now. I'm starting to think my head is flipped..

    but what if that sub dries out? how will the mushroom grow without water?

    • @bybassman1842
      @bybassman1842 Рік тому

      You ensure that the sub doesn't dry out by having it at least 3" thick and at field capacity. After a flush, you can rehydrate the cake by dunking it in water for 12-24 hrs to initiate another flush.

    • @bybassman1842
      @bybassman1842 Рік тому +1

      Perlite is not toxic and is used in certain grows but not in a mono tub like this. Bad idea actually. The moisture/humidity is generated by having the substrate at the proper field capacity.
